Zoom Tips - New Features of the Latest 6.0 Update (2024) - Logan Clements

Zoom rolled out its 6.0 update on April 15th, 2024, and with it came several visible changes. I break down the ones that are most noticeable/most applicable to running meetings, webinars, and events in Zoom.

I hosted a Zoom meeting yesterday for the first time on 6.X, and I was surprised to see 2 open windows on my PC (Win11). One was labeled Zoom Meeting, and the other was Zoom Workplace. I had several live atendees in the room and one attendee on Zoom. Try as we might, I could not hear the Zoom attendee and he could not hear us. Could the new Workplace feature had anything to do with the sound? Looking forward to the in depth reviews of the new features. The Zoom cloud recording for the problematic meeting did record correctly. I'm confused.

I don't believe it impacts the sound. The workplace window is their revised version of your Zoom home screen that would pop up. Could it be possible that your audio on your device was having some challenges or the attendee on their end? Glad the recording worked out, did it capture the audio correctly from both you and your attendee?

So happy to hear it and great question! I use ECamm to record my video and my screen as Zoom often hides itself from any native recording in Zoom.
