EXACTLY the same here.. Big mistake checking that. Please guy, help us (note: I only now realized that my i3 was not suited to the virtual bkgd. feature; fine. But, why won't it let you "force off" that checked box. I thought originally that to check that meant I have a green screen Image (not physical backdrop) and want to apply that. Can you help us VideoZeus? Follow up: Found how to look for updates thru your profile settings. Hit that so it seek an update. Let it find & run that. Once that's in, my room is now with no more green screen or virtual background options. No more switch stuck on. For the i3, this seems the best way. Yay!

I have used Zoom backgrounds for weeks. Found a nice tablecloth fabric at Walmart and loaded images on my desktop and into zoom for weeks it worked beautifully. Last week and not this week we have a fog over a portion of the image. No matter which background that I use the fog/cloud is there obscuring a quarter or third of the image. ???? Thanks

Check how bright/dark that area of the screen is. It may need more/less light there.

I have an issue I can't seem to solve or find help with, including with Zoom folks. I use slideshows to teach my classes. Because I want to be able to move around my slideshow in different orders, I export a Keynote slideshow into images and load them into my backgrounds. It used to be that I could then move in chronological order through those slides by clicking the right arrow key. Then, if I needed to go back a slide or two, it was easy. Now that I've been teaching for a while though, I have run into a situation in which the slides get added out of order. I suspect it could be because I am reusing parts of old slideshows inside new ones. I do delete slideshows after each class. Maybe I need to remove Zoom from the computer and add it back in later. If you have suggestions I would love them, as right now I have all the individual slides that I need for every class, and it would be a bit of a pain to have to reload them. It’s likely because your computer’s processor is not compatible with that feature. If you got a green screen, whether from Amazon or a green table cloth from the Dollar Store, it would work that way.

It looks like once it's ticked, there's no going back. I have removed Zoom and reinstalled it on the Mac and no joy either. Is there a solution to this?

I’m not an expert, but I’ve heard this issue before. Once that box is checked, you’ll have the option to select the color to key out. If you in front of a wall, try selecting the wall and it may work. I have some other videos showing you how to do this. Most have went out and bought a green screen to correct it. For those people who have trouble with your face blending in with a picture background, I was told to hang a green sheet, plastic or something behind you that will be in the background, then that solves the problem of your face blending in with the picture background. Did you try updating your Zoom App? Or logging in to your account on a web browser? For Zoom, you have to manually adjust a lot of those settings from within a browser window (on a desktop usually). And then sign out of the zoom app on your iPad and then make sure it's updated to the most current version. Then sign back in.

Please help! whenever I use a virtual background, my face and eyes get completely distorted. when I disable the background I don't have any issues. I use a HP Spectre x360 PC. Thanks in advance!! That’s a good indicator your computer isn’t compatible with that feature unless you use a green screen.

When I uncheck "I have a green screen", I too get the message that my computer doesn't meet requirements. My dell computer has an INTEL (R) CORE (TM) i7-3720 QM CPU @ 2.6GHz, with 16GB RAM.

Yep that’s a 3rd generation processor. If you have solid colored wall available you can use that as the “green screen”

On a PC using Windows 10 and my system meets all the requirements. I have three issues. The first is that none of the regular Zoom backgrounds show up as choices for me to pick. The two videos are there, but I don't actually see the thumbnail, just a gray rectangle that says "video" and a description of the video if I put my cursor over the rectangle. I can't choose either of them, either. I am able to upload my own images to use as backgrounds, but Zoom does not save them, so I have to upload them again every time I am in a meeting. The last issue I have is that when I move into a breakout room, my background disappears (quite embarrassing when you are working from home in a very messy room!). I have to reload it (after uploading it again, as it doesn't appear in the background options). I actually have two Zoom accounts, one that is personal and one through work. I believe I am only having these issues on the account that I use through work.

Same here with the hair plus the border of my shirt and all around on the edges. That's my only problem....the fizzling kind of shaky edges. So far not finding a solution. (Have green screen, unchecked "mirror" etc.)

Unfortunately your processor is a 3rd generation and is not compatible with the virtual background without a green screen. A workaround is to get an actual green screen whether from Amazon or a green table cloth from the Dollar Store.

I'm using a green screen and at first I had a plastic light colored, lime green screen and it made me look really pale against my virtual background. Now I got a cloth green screen that is more emerald. It is making me look reddish orange against my virtual background. I don't see a way to add a filter or clean up the color tint/hue. Suggestions?

I'm using An Asus Chromebook 431 and it does not give me the option to add a virtual background under the video settings tab. I have another Hp PC where this is not an issue. I'm starting to wonder if the Chromebook does not allow a virtual background option. I have Virtual Background enabled under the In Meeting ( advanced) settings. I have logged out of the account and when I return back into the account and put the video settings on there still no virtual background option. do you know if this issue is because I have a Chromebook?? How can I add a video as a virtual background? I have the same problem as many others on here, but I don't see any tip that helps me (or them). Yes, I have a processor on my MacBook Air that meets the specification (1.6 GHz i5). Yes, my operating system meets the specifications (Catalina 10.15.3). Yes, I have the most updated version of Zoom (4.6.11). Yes, I have the virtual background feature turned on. I can add photos, but I don't have the option to add videos.

everything seems good, seems right, but with a video background or an image, the outer edges have those flickering black spots like bugs ... I have tried everything I know ... Log in, log out, use a different usb plugin slot,, updates checked, and my green screen seems to be good ... Spacing is good too ... My lighting isn't the brightest, but Zoom senses that and auto-adjusts, right?

In the past I have been able to add my own custom zoom virtual backgrounds on my Apple i-Pad. However, the plus sign to add additional backgrounds has suddenly disappeared. I still have my old backgrounds, and they still work, but I cannot add new ones. Any idea what is going on?

Thanks for the video. I have no problem with virtual backgrounds, but one of my co-workers has trouble. When he turns on virtual background the video of his face breaks up. It looks (to my untrained eye) like the video software is having trouble detecting edges or something else in combining the background and the camera video. Any ideas?
