I just realized Nick is still homeless in this comic, he’s living in what looks like an abandoned office space. Edit: it seems like a shithole hotel, my mistake, but seriously a Slick, I know police wage ain’t amazing, but you can afford better than THAT!!!

1:00 I have trouble reading the context of the panel with the spotted hyena and Nick.

Yeah, took me until the end of the comic to get it myself. He asks the hyena and also the inmates at 1:14 about Scarface (the perp they are hunting), and they do know things about him and tell him. They are the source of info that Nick relays during the morning briefing at 1:39.
