ZNH's "Tell My Horse" is an excellent and very enjoyable read about voodooism in Haiti. She was an engaging story-teller, a novelist with an anthropological bent, who won the trust of the common folk to unlock many mysteries.

Zora was ahead of her time. When Serpent and The Rainbow was written and made into a movie it depicted the science of zombie making just as she stated here.

It's too bad Zora died before 1968; I wonder how she'd react to "Night Of The Living Dead".

They gave them 2 drops of a colorless liquid... LSD?
@miahconnell23
@miahconnell23 Жыл бұрын
Kinda. The practice pre-dates the synthesis of LSD by Albert Hofmann in 1943. There is a concoction that produces paralyzation, respiratory depression, near-death & the appearance of death, and then later after the person is exhumed (if they survive), some other compounds and plant & animal extracts are used. A hallucinogenic / psychotropic is involved. It’s waaaaaaaay more than a bad trip 😢

No, she wasn't. You're just close minded... Stuck in your own head, with your limited thought processes... So, who is really "crazy?"
