This song is a message from devs - and really encapsulates the overall feel of the team AND how Sonic Frontiers made community feel - It reignited hope for future games in the franchise. Song as a whole refers to different stuff Sonic Team went through and feels right now... "The skies ahead are vast and clear I hold my breath, step up the gear Feel the wind, smell the air Chances are everywhere" Sonic Team prepares to "take on the world" "Our sights are set beyond the moon We'll show the world what we can do Dreams are big, eyes are wide Hear the voice deep inside Obstacles are no excuse Come what may, therе's nothing to lose Turbulence won't stop us, wе'll keep pulling through Challenges life throws our way Make us even stronger today This is how we ignite" Team says that they will "shoot for the stars" and even if there will be problems or hardships along the way it is "no excuse" "Boost your spirit off the ground I'm a spark that won't go out We can go much higher now Gravity can't hold us down We're only at the beginning of this one way dream Ignite dreams to life" Literally them refusing to give up, reminding themselves that they can... THEY WILL do better this time. "They said we'd break, they said we'd lose But here we are, what else is new? Stronger with every fall Faster with every mile" Acknowledging both how hard 2010s were on the franchise, how some media even said that "Sonic and his games were never great" - and they still refused to "break", chose to learn from their mistakes and tackled project as big and ambitous as Sonic Frontiers with a team of only 60 ppl (for reference other open world games usually have a team of at least 150 - "Assasin's Creed Valhalla" had team of over 1000!) - and managed to release it. "You and me, we're built on trust That's why we can always get up Even if they laugh, we'll never bite the dust Heads up high, reach for the top Give it everything that you got This is how we ignite" Another reminder how community's unwavering support helped the franchise and Sonc Team... 2010s were rough - "Sonic Boom franchise reboot" failed HARD, "Sonic Forces" ended up as a mediocre experience, first movie almost made a mistake with "Ugly Sonic" design and barely avoided it. And still here we are - 2022 was an AWESOME year for Sonic with release of the second movie, New game and New Netflix series and all of them sold very VERY well - that year was literally "Take that, non-belivers!" for Sonic. This song really meant A LOT for everyone involved and you can FEEL how much it invokes "we will never give up and we WILL get to a better place" and how it inspires hope into a better future.

The guitar from 6:42 to 6:52 is a reference to another Sonic song, Reach for the Stars which was the main theme of Sonic Colours

The song is meant for the fan thanking them who stuck around and never gave up and is letting them know that sonic team is trying and will do all they can to keep the momentum for the sonic series to keep going. It’s a deep and positive message that has multiple meanings but the obvious one is sonic team telling fans we appreciate the love and passion for sonic.

natwantstobattle got his start on youtube and still releases a lot on youtube. he makes all sorts of different rock music. an album that really shows his range of sound is "hero of time" which is his ocarina of time album

Glad to see someone discovering Nate! He got his start as a KZbinr uploading covers of songs from anime and games (sonic was one of those games). He eventually expanded further and started writing original songs as well which are all REALLY good and showcase how much talent he has as a songwriter. I think "All I See" might be my personal favorite but really his Sandcastle Kingdoms album is a masterpiece, lots of effort put into the music videos too. Would highly recommend checking it out. Even to this day I honestly feel like he's criminally underrated and his videos deserve to see something closer to the views of mainstream music videos.

First: thanks for the reaction, you really made me enjoy the song again. Second: nate is a not-so-current singer of the franchise, if you want to hear more from him this are the songs you ought to hear: "Escape from the city" sonic adventure 2. "Endless possibilities" sonic unleashed. Nate has done some covers of other sonic songs but those others were originally done either by crush 40 or some other band, nevertheless if you want to I can give you a list of his covers if you are interested. Hope you have a great day cause you are AWESOME .

Escape from the city and Endless Possibilities were done by other bands originally as well. One Way Dream is Nate's first original song with the franchise.

Ayy nice! Now the 6 main Frontiers songs are all here! Now, what about some Guilty Gear Strive? A great thing about Strive’s songs is that all of them have an entire character arc on itself. It’s rly great. Mirror of the world, Town Inside Me, The Roar of the Spark and Drift are some of my favs.

I'm sure it's been pointed out by a few, but Nathan Sharp as 'NateWantsToBattle' is known for doing MANY covers from different media (Video Games, Anime, animation, etc) and also creates original song inspired by this sort of media. He has done MANY Sonic songs in the past, so to see/hear him being in an official Sonic the Hedgehog video game singing a track for them is another added layer to the whole message of the song in general.

I wouldn't say Yesmen10 videos are perfection. Every single video gets crucial lyrics wrong, which is a rather large detriment for Sonic songs when the lyrics are exceptionally important to the full composition.

I highly recommend listening to the 30th anniversary Sonic Symphony on the official Sonic YT page. Its over 2 hours long and has 2 covers by Nate! Let us know what you think of it! 😁

I have quite a few recommendations if you haven't heard them already. A lot of these are already pretty well known to many though. (Bit of an understatement when I say 'quite a few'. It's an overwhelming amount of songs, and I definitely don't expect you to listen to all of them, if even any. But hopefully anyone that knows any of these songs will recommend them in a reply or something as well.) From a Sonic *Fan-Made Game* called 'Sonic Omens' (The game got a lot of hate for many different reasons, due to both game difficulty and also drama which was overblown and misunderstood by many. Beyond the point though, it's sung by Bentley Jones who actually sung a song for an Official Sonic Game called 'Dreams of an Absolution', which is also worth listening to. 1, Weight of the World (I especially absolutely LOOOOOVE the portion of the song that plays in the 2nd phase of the boss fight it's featured in. I ABSOLUTELY recommend listening to it if you've liked any of the music you've heard from any of the official Sonic games.) From the game 'Metal Gear Rising: Revengance' (All these songs start instrumental, but have vocals kick in halfway through the fight to make it even more epic. The game has a very anime-like vibe to it when it comes to epic-ness.) 1, Rules of Nature 2, It Has To Be This Way 3, The Hot Wind Blowing 4, A Stranger I Remain 5, The Stains of Time 6, The Only Thing I Know For Real From the game 'Devil May Cry 5' 1, Devil Trigger 2, Bury the Light (THIS IS A MUST FOR ANY HUMAN BEING) From the game 'Final Fantasy XIV (14)' 1, Dragonsong 2, Shadowbringers Theme 3, To the Edge (Best to listen to after the Shadowbringers theme, AND the Amaurot theme. I didn't list the Amaurot theme though because it's not lyrical.) 4, Footfalls (This one is IMO amazing, but a lot of people say it doesn't sound as good unless you've actually played the game or heard many of the other songs in the game, because it takes a lot from the main themes in each expansion for the game) 5, With Hearts Aligned (Same issue as the last one, but it's also much much better when experienced after the journey of going throughout the game's story up to the point this plays. Definitely recommend not listening to this one unless you don't plan on ever playing the game.) From the games 'Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2' 1, Simple and Clean (Original Non-Remix Version) 2, Sanctuary From the game 'Final Fantasy 10-2' 1, 1000 Words From the games 'Persona 5/Persona 5 Royal/Persona 5 Strikers' 1, Last Surprise 2, Take Over 3, Colors Flying High 4, You Are Stronger 5, Counterstrike

The band hasn’t come out and corrected the global audience, but in Japan “ONE OK ROCK” has another play on words (other than having rock in their bandname). The Japanese pronunciation of the band would be “wan oku roku” which can also be heard as “one o’clock”! That was the time they used to have band rehearsals. Personally, I think it’s okay to say their name as One Okay Rock since they haven’t gone out of their way to correct anyone internationally! I think they even get introduced as that when touring outside of Japan!
