@@HiddenForbidden2 I still think Gabiru's theory that Carrot has ties to Stussy hold weight. Their hair styles and taste in headwear seem suspiciously similar, and Carrot has no confirmed parents or childhood to speak of. She also somehow was able to master Sulong better than any other Mink so far as maintaining control goes. At 15.

@@PlanetZoidstar Exactly. Every extraordinary character has good explanations as to why they are as great as they are. We rarely ever get simple natural talents, and when we do it's because they train harder than everyone else for the longest time. Bonus points if you come from a great lineage. As for Carrot? She supposedly mastered Sulong and became Ruler after only 2 years, with no ties to anyone special whatsoever (Pedro is a legend, but more for his actions rather than individual strength, and she only knew him for the said 2 years). I just don't see it, there Has to be more here.

@@HiddenForbidden2 Exactly, Oda has a pattern (much like Kishimoto) of tying prodigy status to hereditary, he may not do it explicitly but it's definitely there. Like you say we hardly get anyone who is just naturally talented without some connection to another talented person. Be it family, crew, or some other affiliation that nurtured their talent. Luffy is very much gifted as one of the D. Clan (and his dad and grandad are both extremely in/famous figures in the OP world), and his "brothers" Ace and Sabo also became worldwide infamous and powerful. Carrot has no background of note other than just being 1 of the Minks. I'd go so far as to say she controls Sulong better than the Dukes, who look and sound positively feral when they transform. She also performed better against Perospero than Wanda (who is older and more experienced) and only lost due to bad luck. She retains her cuteness and hardly makes a sound when fighting in Sulong, implying a strong hold over the naturally wild form. Carrot is during her transformation, but those wild features curiously recede right afterwards, no other Mink transforms the way Carrot does. There's something to her lineage Oda has not revealed yet, I imagine Pedro's Will has something to do with it. Consider she was just a struggling rookie who couldn't wield a sword - yet Pedro not only trains her but decides she will be the one to inherit his Will. What's so special about Carrot that Pedro would put all his trust into her to carry out his Will? Going as far back as their training he was grooming her to succeed him, well before she stowed away on the Sunny. Pedro wanted to go back to drop her off, but given he already had eyes on Carrot to succeed him I think he was hiding his true intentions...

Who knows, really? Oda's been making references to the number eight a lot recently. Maybe it's his favorite number? Maybe it's foreshadowing? You never know with him, though it's been awhile since we've seen Caribou. I'm still curious as to what will happen with him.

Since we're bringing up the number eight again, I recently came across a user who pointed out how Carrot's eight year anniversary is coming up. Carrot was first introduced in chapter 804. It was released somewhere around 2015/10/22. That's when it dropped on Manga Freak, anyways. It's unlikely, but we may see more from her around the twenty second of this October.

@@ChimourTheBatFurry Honestly it’s really hard to say how accurate any sort of date based theories can be now that Oda has been on constant breaks all throughout the year, with one of the breaks being over a month as well as multiple multi-week long breaks.

I have a theory the five elders are yonko high Admiral level. The thing that differentiates them from other people in that category is their mindset. I think they all have the shanks Mindset. Go in for the kill and don’t underestimate no one. For the simple fact that we haven’t seen them fight but they all have battle scars and we can assume the last time the fought was to “overthrow joyboy” 800 yrs ago. Also the only thing that can stop Luffy is an opponent of equal or greater strength who won’t entertain his Tom foolery. Besides the god aspect of his devil fruit. Awakened paramecia and logia infuse their will into the environment and can turn it into that substance. Which explains why luffy was able to do some of the things he did to Kaido. His will was stronger and he was able to impose that on kaido turning him into rubber. And we see aspects of that with Kizaru. Although luffy hasn’t imposed his will on him yet kizaru is still not taking the fight serious enough to evade every attack and is still serious enough to attack and damage Luffy. The next step above that would be characters like shanks and Akainu (and the gorosei) who don’t f around and underestimate anyone.

On the Bonney's age stuff, I once saw a question asking why Rayleigh said he liked young girls. The answer was basically, he's in his 70's so a woman in her 20's or 30's he could reasonably call young. I personally think that Vegapunk would do the same, but referring to someone as a "little girl" implies child to me. I don't know many instances of guys calling a woman in her 20's a little girl without also insulting them, which VP wasn't doing here. So yeah, I also expect Bonney to be a kid. I actually expect her to not be Kuma's biological daughter. And I wouldn't be shocked to learn she's a clone (of Big Mom according to several theories).

There is also the fact that Bonney's least favorite food happen to be carrots. A vegetable. It makes you wonder if she feels the same way about other vegetables. Not only that, but she apparently *loves* pizza. Which I would consider a "junk food". Maybe I'm reading too far into things here, but that looks like typical bratty behavior, from where I'm standing.

I'm a furry, but I chose Perona. I tend to focus on things like personality and aesthetic, and I can't imagine it would be fun courting someone like Yamato. Because you knows she's big into role-play. You would have to call her 'Oden', and refer to her as a man the entire time you're having sex with her. It's just really, *really* awkward, you know? And I'm glad we're starting to get a better feel for Luffy's crew, in so far as power-scaling is concerned. I'm perfectly fine with Zoro being 1st Commander level. A lot of people needed that reality check for both Zoro, and Sanji. Hopefully this'll help the stans keep things in perspective regarding them.
