Tekking, I got the most crazy and insane One Piece theory! As I was sitting down on my desk today, listening/watching some One Piece AMVs, I came up with a thought that spanned into a massive revelation: The story of One piece is repeating itself! Obviously not 1-to-1, but similar elements and events are happening the strongly mirrors what the Straw Hats done before the time skip. And I’m not talking 1 or 2 instances. I’m talking about EVERY ISLAND THAT THE STRAW HATS VISITS PARALLES TO WHAT THEY DID PRE-TIME SKIP!!! Granted, not everything lines up or as but still very prevalent. In fact, you could say that the post Timeskip is a more epic version of the Pre-timeskip. Don’t believe me? Read my argument: Sabaody Archipelago= Goa Kingdom/Romance Dawn -Luffy spent a considerable amount of time with a member of Roger’s crew (Shanks and Rayleigh) AND gained a power from them ( The Gum-Gum Fruit from Shanks and Haki from Rayleigh) -Luffy spent years of training for his journey out to sea (his time in the mountains/his time on Ruskaina) -An event that happened in the past having much more positive outcome in the present (A Seaking bitting Shanks arm off and Straw Hat’s splitting up/Luffy punching the Seaking and the Straw Hats journeys to Fishman Island) Fishman Island= The East Blue Saga -The good guys fought the authorities but end up making friends with them (the Marines under Axe-Hand Morgan, The royal family of the Ryugu Kingdom) -Luffy damages a large ship not entirely(Noah/the Black Cat Pirates ship) -Luffy beating a speciest Fishman (Arlong/Hody Jones) Punk Hazard= Whisky Peak, Little Garden, & Drum Island -The Straw Hats fought creature that they thought didn’t/no long exist (dinosaurs at Little Garden/the large dragon in the blazing half -A slothful Devil Fruit villain who didn’t train with their fruits but used them for a financial gain (Wapol and him inventing Wapol metal/Caesar Clown and his Sad/Smile production) -Somebody asking the Straw Hats for help in taking out important and powerful person of the sea (Vivi in taking out Crocodile/Law in taking out Kaido (and Doflamingo)) Dressrosa= Alabaster (obvious but let go through a few) -A warlord taking over a country by defaming it’s king (Doflamingo/Crocodile) -Luffy coming across one of his brothers (Ace/Sabo) -Zoro cutting a Devil Fruit User with remarkable durability and showcase his awesomeness (Daz Bonez/Pica) -A princess is undercover in a Warlord’s organisation (Vivi in Baroque Works/Viola in the Doflamingo Pirates) Zou= Long Ring Long Land (aka: the Davy Back Fight arc) -Features an animal with very long legs (Shelly the horse/Zunisha the elephant) -Chopper getting some affection from a female character (Porche of the Foxy Pirates/The Women of the Mink Tribe) -A captain with a pointy nose taking a Straw Hat member to be a part in somebody else’s crew (Foxy taking Chopper for his own crew/Bege taking Sanji for the Big Mom crew) Totto Land= Skypia and Enis Lobby -Inhabitants living under a harsh ruler who will be punished if they don’t follow the rules (Enel and his “Judgments”/Big Mom and her soul rent) -Structures and landscapes made from unexpected material (clouds/candy) -Straw Hats rescuing one of their members and and we learn something about their past (Robin/Sanji) -Luffy develop a new form to fight a powerful foe (Gear 2nd against Lucci/“Snake Man” against Katakuri) Wano (Past)= Ohara (MINOR SPOILER WARNING) -the Island was attacked by a very powerful ruler of the sea (World Government/Kaido) -the land became a waste land due to what the outsiders did (The Buster Call/the pollution from Kaido factories) -A large tree with great significance (Ohara’s Tree of Knowledge/the large tree in the capital) -a young child escaping the disaster through an unexpected route (Aokiji ice lanes for Robin/Momo and him travelling 20 years into the future. And... that all I got. I’ve notice a lot of similarities and I can think of more if I think deeper into it. I am amazed on how many ideas were rehashed. I could say that Oda was Being lazy... but I won’t. Like I said at the beginning, these events weren’t 1-for-1 and actually more nuanced retellings of past events. But if this is all true and the pattern will continue in the future, what do you think we have in store for the rest of One Piece?

Oh I just had a theory because of this video and the recent one of Shiryu. We haven't really seen any of the rest of the Straw hat crew have a confrontation with the Blackbeard crew in a big way only Luffy has. So even though we can see some rivalries coming the story hasn't given us anything. So I see a confrontation coming between the crews where the Blackbeard crew achieves whatever goal they had and walks away without the Straw hat crew being able to do anything and this can setup the different rivalries. But the biggest rivalry that should start is Zoro vs Shiryu and I thought of a cool way to make Zoro hate him. What if when the rest of the BB crew appear Shiryu is invisible and when Zoro goes to attack them, cause he is Zoro, Shiryu cuts him down from behind? It would both show that Shiryu's fruit gets past observation, that he is strong(cause Zoro is durable even with his guard down), and leaves Zoro with a scar on his back which he will feel shame over. Just a thought.

well, i always thought about something: the Wado isn't HIS sword, It's Kuina's. If you think about it, for the entire series he has never HAD a sword (the only two that came close were Shusui and the Sandai). Mihawk has Yoru and Shanks has Griffin, both of which are possibly swords they either have had forged for them or have "earned", like Zoro did with Shusui. Zoro never earned the Wado. He asked for it and Koshiro gave it to him but he didn't show his valor like he did with Shusui (or to an extent the Sandai by proving that his luck was stronger than the curse). Zoro needs HIS sword, not an handout, he needs a sword made FOR him or conquered BY him. Where am i going with this? Zoro is getting HIS sword at the end of Wano. Possibly made by the shards of the Wado and the Sandai. They did specify that the Wado was made by the same blacksmith who made Enma and Oda doesn't say stuff like that without a reason. I know, it's sad to think that the Wado could be gone but i'd say it's kinda poetic, with Zoro chasing the dream he shared with Kuina by using a blade made by the Sandai, first blade he bested and representing his demonic theme and the Wado, the blade that drove him to embark in this quest.

At the point of challenging Mihawk for the title, Zoro will probably have 3 saijo o'wazomono, since we now know that it's impossible to get anything better than an o'wazomono just through forging. I also don't think that Zoro would challenge him for the sword. The point which I mentioned above is just one of many possible reasons.

if that's true then I don't think Zoro will be able to handle that big of sword (yoru) along with his other katana, Yoru is massive, unless zoro decides to temporarily sheath his blades, i am not saying zoro cannot lift ypru , because when it comes to physical strength Zoro is very very strong but yoru is just massive to handle along with other swords long story short if zoro got his hands on yoru he will be using it alone ! you never see other characters using more than one massive blade nodachi, yoru (messer-ish) !

I always wanted Zoro to acquire more cool swords, not to use four sword style, but to have sets for each situation, long swords, short swords, heavy swords, light swords, fire swords, water swords etc. As well as creating a rivalry with tashigi since she wants to collect the named blades... The sword juggling idea is great; Zoro could certainly pull it off with his observation haki. He could just hold 2-3 swords in 1 hand like he did when he went against Kuina the first time, but that isn't as cool.
