How does this just keep getting better and better?? Although a little worried all those tall straight buildings are starting to look a little too modern but can't wait to see how it ends up. Also fave character is Faramir and with that new model with that dynamic pose he'd look ace running towards a host of orcs 😎

The modern look is my thought as well. I don't remember seeing such high buildings in the movies (especially just straight up walls without balconies or something like that). Nevertheless I'm excited to see the end result.

Kind of agree. I think a bunch of arches and columns could help it inhabit middle earth a bit more. Those straight unsupported walkway sections especially are begging for some carved arch stone work, they look a bit 40k at the moment. But otherwise, its phenomenally cool!

Character Diorama: Boromir fighting the Uruk Hai at Amon Hen, Lurtz drawing his bow. The extended cuts of the movies really revealed to me exactly how great Shaun Bean characterised the most relatable member of the Fellowship. Was he flawed? Yes. Was he the one who fell for the temptation? Yes. But Boromir is an absolute hero, and he deserves more recognition.

And after you've finished playing LoTRs on it you can use it for a Battle of Stalingrad game. 😅😅 Without any paint, round domes and large arches, that building looks so much like a bombed-out soviet concrete apartment block. I can't wait to see it all painted, I hope that'll make it look less like a concrete block. I think I would add an arch under any raised walkways to make them look less like Necromunda gangways and more like the films - stone needs some support.

You can also build the walls from the buildings in the water that have fallen over in large slabs that are now part of the river bed. They will be mostly submerged in the resin, but can have structural details that jut out of the resin creating blocking paths for assault boats. I'm sure someone here is a 3D modeler and can make seam covers to print up. For the heroic dio, look no further than Samwise standing off against Shelob with the Phial of Galadriel glowing brightly.

Been following your Middle Earth series (builds and battle reports) and am blown away by the skills and enthusiasm for this particular project. The enthusiasm has rubbed off and I finally dug through my “Harry Potter” room (under the stairs) and re-discovered my LotR miniatures from around 2000. Did some repainting (sadly, age and crook eyesight haven’t improved my skills much) and am now introducing my daughter’s partner to Middle Earth wargaming on Sunday afternoons. Great fun on a VERY simple and limited terrain but hugely enjoyable (again). Thanks for such interesting videos and good luck with the move to NZ.

I really wanna see a video on integrating the plastic kits with hobby built scenery. Not just on the same board, or little bits to spruce up the plastic, but like a 50/50 mix of both in the same building. Things like how best to use the high detail molded parts to maximum effect when you can do bulk stone by hand. What features are best in plastic or foam, that sort of thing. Not all of us have your sweet sweet connections in the industry and it'd really help in making the kits go further on a budget. ---- And favourite character: Gotta be Faramir. I'd love to see a diorama of him and his men ambushing the Haradrim in Ithilien.

Fantastic work as always! It's also good to see these kits in mega builds as I think we all collectively assume that they're good throw down scenery, but the "only" way to make diorama sized sets is to come away from the kits and DIY from scratch... And here you are mixing the two perfectly!!!!!

Awesome build Lord Zorpa! It’s really coming along. I hope the move to NZ is going well so far, and wish you the best of luck over the coming weeks (btw, Dunedin is awesome). My favourite character from Lord of the Rings would have to be Treebeard. He gives me such positive vibes, and I love listening to his chapter from the audiobook. Wow what a beautiful set, look like it's been ripped straight from the film, can't wait to see the whole lot done, good job. I will have to say Aragorn because he's a proper unit by himself

Unsolicited Opinion; I hope you can make more complex shapes…while I am not a mega fan of the Lotr , the architecture looks different from what I see in the movies. This one have the vibe of the imperium. It doesnt seem to fit the first attempt which has more domes and complex shapes. Is it possible there a way to make it more clustered have the buildings closer together? That way when you put the rubbles and supplies and the armies it will feel utterly uncomfortable. keep up the great work, love these builds.

Astounding work yet again mister lock and pop! I can not wait to see this all base coated and prepped for your resin insanity! Are you feeling more confident now that your last one is in the rear view?

I absolutely love what you done with this mega build Lachie but I feel you missed a beat by not revisiting the old Return of the King video game and adding in balsa wood gap fillers and ladders like they had in the game giving it a real ramshackle style and look.

GENUINELY looking forward to seeing this project come together. Osgiliath is the coolest setting for LOTR games Boromir for hero pose! 💪

This is amazing, the new ruins kits look incredible, looking forward to seeing them all painted up! Osgiliath is definitely one of my favourite places in Middle Earth, I find its history to be so interesting. I would personally love to see a diorama of Boromir's speech after liberating Osgiliath, Boromir is one of my favourite characters from the books and the films, it's easily one of my favourite scenes from the movies, shame it was cut from the theatrical releases.
