Ah, finally I got to see how this game ends. :) I used to play it a lot when I was a kid, but never managed to get through the tomb. ...it cracks me up how you come to save the lady and she just pushes you off the building unless you bring her a flower XD

I played this at my cousin's house on his Atari XE when I visited Poland from the USA for summer vacation. I remember having to play outside while it loaded from the cassette because it took what seemed like eternity. This was a big step down from what I was used to on the NES, but it was so engaging. I loved it, but I never did beat it. I remember being rejected by the damsel because I didn't bring her the rose.

Boy does that bring back memories!! [Smile] I got to where I could clear level one pretty well every time, but once into level two it was over with pretty quick. I've still got my system packed away upstairs: 800XL w/128K upgrade, ICD Multio (hard disk controller, IBM printer port, modem connection & 512K ramdisk) running SpartaDos. Besides the cassette it has a 9600 baud Hayes, Atari XF551, an Atari XF551 with 3 1/2" 720K conversion and a 1050XL floppy with the Super Archiver/US Doubler upgrade. The Cherry on Top was my ICD 48M SCSI hard drive. [Big Grin] Bear in mind that my professor (who hired me when he found out I was doing things on a "Toy Computer" that is customers weren't able to do on their office computers) had only one customer at the time he hired me (1988) that was using an HD bigger than 21M (an 80M SCSI for their Novell server). At that time they had the choice of two colors as long as one was Black. ;) When I proved to him that I could put 256 colors on the screen at one time (using an 8 or 10 line Basic program from _Analog_ or _Antic_ ) he offered me a job. I even got to do my Basic and Pascal programming assignments at home on my own system... It was a chance to experience a lot for almost 4 years. Once it quit being fun I went back to factory work. I've been enjoying checking out your Playthroughs. Our oldest son & I spent many, many nights on Goonies. :) Great channel! I've subbed, for sure.

@@bartek8309 Yeah, man. That could have been My favourite Atari game too, if it WAS only complete! To the best of my memory, either version was, and is, to this day, a 'mutilated' copy of what was released instead, called 'Preliminary Monty' or so. Still playable and ejoyable, though.

Next to leisure suit Larry, this was one of my first puzzle solving adventure games. I remember playing this over and over trying to figure things out as a 10 year old. Keeping in mind this was before internet and looking up tips and tricks! I was so proud when I solved it. I also vividly remember thinking these were some of the most advanced 3-D graphics I had seen. Lol

I remember playing this game when I was like 5 years old. I never got past the well- and I can now see why- I can also see that even if I did it would not have helped. Games were never supposed to be this complicated back then- this is like Kings Quest type complexity in an action game- it is absurd. Thank you for posting

IIRC, there is no need to pass through the catacombs twice. At the end, just continue to where the money bags indicate, and you open a shortcut to reach the final catacomb screen through the well.
