This and Bruce Lee were two of my faves on the C64. Never made it through the well, but I was 6.

Intrigued me a lot when i was like 5 years old... I hear that music nowadays and it sounds like torture after loop #3

No music credits on the intro screen either ... I'm guessing the programmer made "the music" a couple hours before deadline!

Nowadays there are "sandbox games". However at the time Zorro, even though it really only has a handful of items and interactions, felt to me like what a sandbox game would feel like today. It was sort of a playground, compared to games like PacMan, so that's what I still remember Zorro for.

Holy crap, this brings back some memories. The music was neat and annoying all at the same time. Lots of fun regardless.

I liked this one a lot. Beatable and not unfair games were a bit of a rarity at the time.

Reminds me of the many hours I spent playing Goonies with a friend in co-op.

The music loop needed to be ten times longer and half as obnoxious.

This and Conan were my introduction to games that did not give a fuck

Somehow I never realized how similar this game was to Bruce Lee as a kid, although i never made it to the underground part then. I only remembered stuff like the couch, branding the bull, the drunk guy, and of course that somehow catchy but horrific soundtrack

Haha wonderful stuff. I played this a lot, never finished it though. Honestly, this game felt like an open world game back then, to me.

15:21 - I had no idea there was shortcut there, all these years i thought you had to go through underground again, so you couldnt grab money bags first time you went there :) Game of my childhood

It's basically Bruce Lee. I was talking about this game for ages asking people if they remember a yellow-ish game with a sofa/settee in it. I got mad responses to those who tried. Even "Oh Mummy". Like wtf, Oh Mummy didn't have a sofa in it.

That music! OMFG. Had to mute the vid. I never had a clue what to do in this game and I couldn't get past the first few screens. I might have gone done the well, but don't remember ever negotiating the balls in the water! Kinda similar in look and design to Bruce Lee - ironically, I actually completed that! Many 8-bit games were tough and I completed loads of them, but I was always rubbish at puzzle solving.

The game was made by the same people that did Bruce Lee, hence the resemblance - yep, the music does drive you nuts :D

It's weird because I had a similar problem but I still played the crap out of this game. I think I just liked the ambience of it.

Now I know why I never finished the damn game. Some of those puzzles were a little obtuse. :P

This game makes me think of the game Bruce Lee everytime. :)
@AL82RetrogamingLongplays6 жыл бұрын
that's probably because it was the same studio and graphics artist (Kelly Day) ;)
@trulsosmundsen5156 жыл бұрын
Thats probably it. The way Zorro jumps right up is very much like Bruce Lee. :)

The game got an interconnected map and you need certain items to progress ..So is this the first Metroid-like? Before Metroid was even made.

There are earlier examples of "Metroidvania" but this definitely would qualify as a precursor to me!
