the kool thing about these ip cameras is that you can use them wireless or wired, given you use a 5-9 port switch and then to your router, you could use a spare PC as your surveillance station

Hello, just purchased a 4 Channel Zosi CCTV system, you are right about the AVSS crashing, which I am trying to resolve with Zosi and not being able to access the menu once logged into AVSS Client. However, I have followed many U Tube videos and I am trying to view the DVR on my Laptop, 2 different, one W7, the other W8. After following the advice to go into Internet Protocol version 7 and adding the DVR IP address etc., I still cannot access the DVR from any Browser, incl IE. Do you have any experience on this and a full proof method? Thanks for your videos.

This is very confusing. The Chinese really know how to market the same technology under a number of different names. HeimVision sells what looks like the exact same system, nit claim their cameras are 960p not 720p. The NVR also only has one USB, but the look and even interface (including the different app, web and cloud access) appear the same. It's also hard to decide which one is actually the superior model and if such minor features (extra USB vs 960p for example) are worth the money. Thank you for a great video.

There is no certain answer to that questions because it could be different for each person. It actually depends on many factors including any interference with other wireless networks, noise, obstacles and ... but a good rule of thumb is that the range should be more or less similar to the range of a 2.4 GHz WiFi used in the same place. In my case the range is about 20 meters or so, but for you depending on your environment it could be different! Thanks!

For those who are worried about how far the camera can communicate with the NVR wirelessly. A general rule of thumb in home networking says that WiFi routers operating on the traditional 2.4 GHz band reach up to 150 feet (46 m) indoors and 300 feet (92 m) outdoors. Older 802.11a routers that ran on 5 GHz bands reached approximately one-third of these distances.

Well, speaking of the devil 😀 I just decided to stop using the Zosi camera system because of a couple of issues which I'm gonna share with you in my very next video. I usually use 3 cameras and with 1 TB HDD it can record for a bit more than 3 weeks.

If you mean connect the NVR to Internet wirelessly, the answer is no, you cannot directly and wirelessly connect the NVR to internet , at least not the model shown in this video. However, a possible workaround could be to connect the NVR to a wireless bridge!

I am trying to drill the smallest hole possible. Does the power cable disconnect from the camera? If not does the ethernet portion of it unscrew? I was thinking of a garage mount so I would drill a small hole and fish the smallest part of the wire back into the camera. Also, do you have any experience with this camera? the Zosi 1080p 4CH Mini NVR 2 HD 2MP Outdoor WiFi IP Wireless Security Camera System? This is one of the few cameras that can support two-way audio but no reviews and the night vision goes down to 30 feet. I am surprised not one review. This would be a great Ring doorbell alternative.

Unfortunately neither of the cables are detachable on these Zosi cameras! These are the only Zosi cameras that I have tested so far, hopefully in the future O can test more, including the 1080p 4CH mini NVR you mentioned! Sorry that I cannot be any help!

How are the apps on these cameras? No matter what camera I look at the app store has atrocious reviews. Also when using the apps in home, do they use LAN bandwidth or WAN bandwidth? I don't really trust the security on many IP cameras and was thinking of putting this on the guest network but with a 200/10 the LAN might be necessary.

I have an 8 channel and also contacted Zosi support on how to set the alarm (where most systems will beep if motion is detected like my other wired system) they were no help in telling me how to set it up or even if it does this function which I cannot see any point in buying a system that doesnt alert the user. I also just sent an email on why doesnt the sound work as well. maybe we are "getting what we paid for" expecting a "proper system"

It should be in the system setup - general setup - time setup. Make sure the time zone is also correct! If it is wrong then it'll sync the time with a different country!

You'll need to connect the cameras to your wireless router or to a switch if you have one using Ethernet cables and then connect the NVR to the same network as the cameras. The cameras of course need to be configured so they have the correct IP address and then they should be added to the NVR.

Is it possible to have motion alerts without activating "only record when motion is detected". I would prefer to have the recording be 24/7 but be notified by an alarm if motion is detected. If so, are the alerts only heard from the nvr or will you get the same alert on eseenet.com and on the app via notification or alarm. Thanks

Yes you can have the NVR record all the time and then in the System Setup -> Channel Setup -> Video Detection page enable the type of alarm that is suitable for you. However from a separate computer when I login with the ip address on the web browser I do not receive any audible alerts. Hi, unfortunately it is not possible to hear the alerts on a computer that is connected to the NVR through a web browser, ( or at least I could not find a way) however the APP has the alert notification but I have found the APP to be very unstable and don't think it would be a reliable source for the alerts. Hi, That's correct, each camera needs to be plugged in to power individually and unfortunately that can be frustrating! I personally have used PoE injectors / Splitters with Ethernet cables for the power! The power adapters are plugged in inside the house and connected to Ethernet cables that go all the way to the cameras outside! This requires some wiring but worked fine for me because my cameras are in the backyard where there are no power outlets! There is only an HDMI / VGA cable between the TV and NVR so I would replace the cable and try again! Also I would make sure the TV input is selected correctly.

Thanks! There are monitors that have 2 Video inputs (a VGA input and a HDMI input), maybe you can connect one NVR with a VGA cable and the other one with the HDMI cable! There are also KVM switches to share one monitor with multiple computers that might work for multiple NVRs too (I haven't tried this so I'm not 100% sure). ZOSI might also have 8-channel NVRs, so you might want to check with them because it's more convenient to manage one NVR than 2!

the have a "repeater" built in so the signals can be streched, I don't know about over 1 1/2 acres though, the one inside my Garage has some troubles getting a signal at times, I never set repeaters up though. and yes, to and power farther out may require some kind of Generator ?
