Regarding the Zotac website it is possible to use 2230 / 2242. Corsair MP600 is an alternative, but much faster than the transcend. Keep in mind, more fast more heat...

Hi. The outer case is plastic (if i remember right, have the pc in another place). Overall full of little holes. Under that is a really massive heat sink, covering 3 sides of the pc.
