Hey! I just wanted to thank you for your effort in this channel. I'm starting to enjoy 3D modeling which is HUGE. I've just bought your drone course and I hope it will solidify my knowledge and make me confident with any hard surface object. I'm sure it will. Thank you very much! For future videos I think it would be good to have an explanation for what is the best way to add labels to an object preserving exact proportions. Your UX Unwrapping explanation is by far the best on KZbin for Cienma4D. Edit: Just finished this video. Just rediscovered a way to add labels in a very quick and simple way! Maybe not super exact and professional, but it's fast... :D

Hello, which setteins did you adjust to set a few points to the Null such as at 7:30 by merely pulling them both down with Scale-tool? It looks like the magnet is working by you. I can do it only by setting the Null in the Coordinate Manager manually, otherwise I cant exactly hit the Null coordinate by pulling, I get either a bit more or less than Null.

I had a lot of fun making this tutorial. As usual, great modeling technique. I particularly enjoyed the work with the splines to model the protective mask. It took me over 3 hours to do the tutorial. Curious to know how long you take to prepare such a tutorial. A small downside. I find that remeshing the mask has several problems. It is certain that once the material is applied, it goes well. I tried an experiment. I did not use the Boole. In the Sweep I increased the Intermediate Points for Splines and Circles. I placed the three Sweeps in a Volume Builder with the setting ( Voxel Size=0.4). I placed the Volume Builder in a Volume Mesher with its default values. Then I put all that in the Remesh with the settings (Mesh Density=10, Adaptive=0, Detect Hard Egges=Shading). The result is perfect. Virtually no defects in the mesh. Almost identical to the model in the photo. Volume Builder could be a good alternative to Boole Builder in some cases. Thanks for what you do. Tu es SUPER.

Thank you very much! Thank you very much for the tip, combining volume objects and Zremesher is a great idea, I will give it more chance. I believe I worked several hours before recording. Keep practising and let us know if you find any better ways model!

is the cloth object a reliable way of adding thickness to objects similar to Max Shell modifier or Blender solidify ? I suppose extrude tool doesn't work so well in many cases or is it?
@polygonpen2 жыл бұрын
Cloth object is a good way to add thickness to non editable objects, that is why I used it in the tutorial ( to give thickness to Nurb objects ), you can use extrude tool as well, no problem.
@orphydiancg77592 жыл бұрын
@@polygonpen The thing is Max and Blender modifiers have some extra options specifically meant for adding thickness to hard surface planar models (with sharp corners etc) and they still fail in many cases. So I wonder how C4d managed to do this with a non dedicated feature. Do you happen to have some other vids for this topic!

@@orphydiancg7759 Same issue occurs in C4D as well, there are a few ways to get aorund the problem, normal move is one of them, or the ultimate/last hope solution is making objects editable and manually adjusting points/edges etc, I hope I understod your question right?

hi polygonpen, I wanted to point out a problem related to bolean operations. When you try to run a boolean on a non-planar surface, such as I your helmet, the holes made by moving with around the object to observe the holes in question appear distorted. I thought it might be distortion due to the camera lens used, so from a 24mm I went 120mm, but nothing yet the problem persists. The only solution I found is to make a bollean on a flat surface and then deform it with the transformers, so I get a correct view of the mesh. Are you experiencing this problem ?
@polygonpen Жыл бұрын
This is not about distortion actually, I thought about this too but this happens in real life too, curved shapes have that illusion, kind of.

kzbin.info/www/bejne/fobMmZiHedZ8ecU Does Cinema have a certain tool or setting like this in 3ds max like brushing points along the surface to get them in a desired shape and not ruining the surface. The Smear mode with the Brush tool doesn't keep the surface and Slide tool its more like using the move tool and only works along the existing edges.
