Trying Maximalism in Cardmaking

I’m sharing card ideas inspired by maximalism. This video is also a part of the Four Petal Inspiration Instagram Hop by Spellbinders - / yana.smakula .
More is more when it comes to maximalism. More color, more layers, more elements, more detail, more patterns. It doesn’t mean that you just add a bunch of stuff to your card and leave it there. No, there are still rules to follow, and you still have to make sure your design is pleasing to the eyes, but generally, maximalism is where you need not be afraid to add more. You can use bold colors, you can make a busy card, you can have lots of variety and it will still look appealing.

They are ALL stunningly beautiful. Maybe the black background is my favourite. Maximilism reminds me of William Morris floral wallpapers etc...also, many florists put together bright bold colours together when flower arranging. There is so much inspiration around us.

LOVE the cards. The black one is also my favorite. Loving this die, because the main branch in one large piece. I don't like die with too many tiny pieces, this one looks like it's very manageable.

10 April 2023 : Hi, again, Yana! I still would love to hear back from you ... PLEASE???? ❤ 1 Month Ago : Whoa! These are just GORGEOUS, Yana! And now I have to go shopping, even though I PROMISED myself that I wasn't going to buy ANYTHING new for awhile (I already have a big pile of supplies that I haven't even opened yet!). But your creativity is SO inspiring, I just can't help myself! Lol. Anyway, quick question: When you add so much heaviness to the front of your card, do you feel the need to balance the back to match? Does it feel flimsy, in comparison to the front, to you? I usually add another slightly smaller layer of cardstock to the inside, but I'd love to hear what YOU do, if anything? Thank you SO much for sharing your skills with the rest of us! ❤👏🙏

Your maximalism approach is awesome! I love that they're still very 'designed', there's flow and movement across the card with the layers, but so many gorgeous pops of colour and detail for the eye to enjoy. All 3 cards are wonderfully beautiful BUT I’m like you I love black background cards a lot as do many of the commenters. But it doesn’t seem right not to try new things. I rarely pick bright colors…just not me, Bright colors scare me! Lol lol. Now on black it is a whole other story.
