Still have my 96 Bought in in 97. Put psi pipes v-force reeds milled heads light weight hood and seat and lots of clutch and jet work and 136 track. Ran her about 9600 rpm all day and she was still keeping up with built up 2003 Polaris 800s when I quit riding. Love the sound of a nicely tuned triple.

I had a 96 ZRT 600. I bought it slightly used in 98. I Put in Vforce reeds and a clutch kit and man that thing ripped. So much fun to ride and the sound was amazing. I was a full on Arctic Cat fan boy. I even had the matching suit. But after two seasons of long and annoying repair lists after every weekend of sledding I switched to Ski Doo and never looked back.

You have to admit that none of these problems are because its an Arctic cat, any and all sleds or engines for that matter dont take kindly to having water in them. Those cranks are very costly to rebiuld
@rednecksdirtyhands2 жыл бұрын
lol yeah we know..we just like making fun of ourselves..the water in the fuel issue would have been totally avoided if we actually drained the tank first lol. and as soon as I saw how bad the bottom end was I picked up a complete used one from the salvage yard. so part 3 will be rebuilding the motor on the cheap and gettin her rippin again 🍻

@@rednecksdirtyhands i love hearing that.... That sleds actually in really good shape and is worth quite a bit to the right people.. Its nice to see at least 1 person isnt out there just Purposely ruin a good sled for views or w.e.. And may i add that fuckers from 96 or 97 so not only did it sit six years it was already 20 years old when it got parked... Literally no cover over it... And still looks like that.. I mean the track rolled immediately idk if im the only one that thought it would have been rusted tight but damn i give that fucker credit man. What a loyal sled
@Hustler_state2 жыл бұрын
I would have cut to clip where u asked in part 1 if he had put fresh gas in it. To me, and most folks where I'm from, that means i checked the tank and siphoned all the old crap out before i poured 5 fresh gallons, or 100usd of fresh petrol
@Hockeyfan98842 жыл бұрын
The way I see it, if it's a snowmobile, I'm in, game on, and of note of all the diff sleds I rode, admittedly I had to walk a few pounds away over the years. keep that 600 alive I say

My zrt gas cap leaks water in when it gets rained on (if sled sets out in the weather). I keep it in a shed now so no longer an issue. May be what’s up with your Zrt getting water in the gas though?
@rednecksdirtyhands2 жыл бұрын
yeah this one was sitting outside covered up with a tarp for 3 or 4 years so I'm guessing just a bunch of condensation built up in the tank over the years..?

well so far just to get it up and going not much money at all..like $40 and that's including the used air box from the salvage yard. but once I saw how bad the bottom end was, I picked up a used bottom end from the same yard for $350. so I think once we're all said and done we should have this sweetie back up and dangling the skis for a bit under $500, but that will be in part 3 🍻.
