@mikecrowell3715 regardless we weren't healthy last year either. We got healthy going into the playoffs but Luka missed like 18 games, kyrie missed 20 games, lively missed 20 plus games, kleber missed 20 plus games, exum missed 20 plus games.

They alternate cuz Lively typically gets into foul trouble quick, but he's been fouling less so he's starting more

Luka was actually playing defense this year some. Before getting hurt he was second in league in steals. Had a lot of blocks too.

Dallas doesn't have fix rotations like you see with okc, Boston or Denver. Kidd let hoop whoever has the hot hands and every night its someone new get in the leading statsheets like tonight Hardy 25, Lively 21, PJ 23 pts against Lakers Dinwiddie, Grimes and Klay were the leaders in pts. Mavs depth is crazy and once Luka, Kyrie and Exum return they will pretty much unstoppable on both ends. As Exum gives more shooting and POA defense, pushing pace and a good chance creator with low Turnovers.

@@Velveteenvision Klay had a personal 9-0 run to take the lead that was never given up, and the lakers spent the rest of the game sprinting around the court to make sure Klay never touched the ball again. OP said hot hand, not who had the most points.

Grimes deserves more minutes. Between him and the other guards he’s probably been their most consistent bucket getter since Luka and Kai got hurt. Plus he’s 10 times the defender that Hardy and Spence are. I don’t get why Kidd is holding back w him. Make it make sense Ztay

Do mavericks play better defense without him? Of course but Luka’s offensive mastermind and how he reads defenders and different coverages makes him unstoppable on offense. His offense is more effective than his lack on defense.

they're 8-7 without luka this season. luka, kyrie, klay, pj and lively had the highest net rating of any 5 man lineup in the nba up until luka got injured on christmas. mavs defensive rating has gone down since luka has gone out. the offensive rating has gone down slightly. stats don't back up anything you said. eye test doesn't either for people who watch the games. maybe you missed that five loss streak.

@@Velveteenvision sure, but it's not a statistical improvement when luka's out. no signs point to that. people criticize luka based on heliocentric ball which he hasn't been playing this season.
