I miss the good old days of stall teams. All you needed back then was Jeanne, Medea Lily, and Tamamo and you could stall your way through most bosses. Then they started adding more bosses with buff removal and invulnerability piercing and now Castoria and is a must.

I feel like you are undervaluing Himiko a little bit in the video. In some ways her synergy with the immortal team is even higher than Morgans. Not to say she is necessarily better than Morgan, but also not really worse either imo. They simply function a bit differently. Himiko enables your face cards way more than Morgan by giving your entire team a practically permanent 50% crit buff and effectively guaranteeing every card to crit by overcharging Merlins NP more and adding her own stars via her S1. Have you seen a Himiko buster crit with her S3 and Merlin S3 active? Thats 250% crit damage (potentially up to 330% on JP with Merlin buff and crit append) on a card already buffed by 110% buster buff and 90% attack buff. The extra stage of overcharge also makes the team a tiny bit safer by granting that one extra invuln stack. And if your defenses should fail at any time, her ruler class has natural synergy with staying alive unlike Morgan who can get oneshot by a stray crit if things go really badly. All in all I personally think both Morgan and Himiko excel in the immortal team with each of them having their own advantages over the other so I like using both for slightly different reasons and in slightly different fights.

People forget about the original "Immortal Team". "MJM": Mash, Jeanne Ruler, Merlin. I was lucky to get that team when i first started the game. And I cleared Part 1 of FGO in less than a month. 😎

I don't have Merlin, but I do have a fully leveled/skilled Castoria, and a fully leveled/partially skilled Lady Avalon, and they have helped me through several of the most recent Advanced Quests (using Nitocriss, Yang Guifei, and DaVinci Rider as DPS units). Thanks for the how to guide.

I really like using Beni-Enma in the DPS slot, while she doesn't have any way of giving OC, she does provide the very important Buff Removal Protection for the party, while also having useful tools like NP seal, Crit down and party charge. She also fits very well because she's a very crit oriented servant (40% crit just by herself), while also having 2 Arts 2 Buster cards, so she can benefit both from Merlin Crits and Castoria.

Well i tried a immortal variation with Semiramis ( friend support as i do not have one ) and went against full strength Kiara. The downside was that it took me like 80-90 turns to win. The good side was that there was never a point where i was at risk to lose.

Quick looping would be am appreciated video, being the self proclaimed defender of quick that you are. Specifically things like Double Ruler+Caster Skadi vs Double Ruler+Oberon. What CE's, past and future, outside of Kscope can be used. Which quick units can loop, especially with Ruler Skadi possibly lowering the bar of entry a bit. Which Quick units can use black grail and which ones need another CE, Kscope or otherwise. And how can it perform outside 3/3/X nodes, especially with knowledge of upcoming 9++ nodes.

If you're like me and run prisma cosmos on Merlin and Castoria, the buffed skill adds the last 10% NP charge you need to do the NP chain on turn 1.

Merlin can totally be replaced with andersen or asclepius btw. Andersen brings the healing and stars as well as a targeted np recharge. He is no way near as good as merlin but he actually works, the only servant that is mandatory for running the team is castoria, because castoria is still the most overpowered servant in the game. As a result you only really need to bring castoria to have a functional semi immortal team, a morgan+andersen+castoria or dps+merlin+castoria is good enough. That's the beauty of the immortal team you only really need 1 servant (which includes the most broken one that everyone should grab regardless of immortal team shenanigans) and a friend support to work well enough vs 90% of the game's hardest content.

The only thing I want to add as a slight addendum- you don't need ALL THREE Servants from the Immortal Team in your Chaldea- just two. Pull the final one you are missing from your Friend List! That in mind it's definitely better to have all three than not, but you might only need two instead of all three. A tall order, still, but more reachable than three Limited Servants.

From my experience, I’d recommend getting another castoria and just leaving her in the 4th slot. The comp can’t survive long wo castoria. If she get crit targeted it can mess the comp super quick. Always have a second castoria in the back.

That is true for the most part, you just run into issues when they disallow the use of friend supports, which admittedly isn't too frequent. Tower events and the Olga fights are the main ones that come to mind but it's not like every event is Tesla fest where you can't use friends.

After the recent buffs, you actually dont need 3 limited servants anymore! Saber Gilles gives overcharge so you can use him, Asclepius or Hans and a friend support Castoria and do an f2p immortal team now. Another honorable mention is Sima Yi/Reines who also has overcharge as well as multiple NP batteries, but shes limited too so...

My favorite version of this team is Himiko, Castoria and Tamamo. Yes Tamamo doesn't have the over time NP charge, but 50% battery for the entire team plus the CD reduction makes that version of the team the most consistent in my experience, even against enemies with aoe attacks. It does lack a bit of damage since Himiko basically only has her own skills and NP to boost her damage.

This team comp was the reason I started playing FGO, mainly Morgan, but when I heard she was part of a memeteam I needed to build it. I saved a lot and got Merlin on las Vegas rerun, then Castoria on her debut and a year later finally got Morgan. These three Servants are crazy, enemies hear boss music when you deploy them, only buff removal or taunt mechanics can beat them. You can manage having only 2 of them for the most part, baring quests that don't allow friend supports.

I went through most of the game playing my Jeanne I chose for anniversary(that's when i started playing), og mash and support castoria. I later has to switch out mash for osakabehime because of ortinax lock. Having my Jeanne finish off Salomon after 50+ turns when the fight came to 1v1 was pretty fun

I really like castoria as a support for koyanskaya of dark, I generally use crit koyan and with her she does pretty good arts damage as well. Also a good comp is van Gogh, koyan dark, castoria, castoria, first turn: castoria np, van Gogh np, koyan np, second turn: second castoria np, van Gogh np, koyan np, third turn: koyanskaya mayhem with equal damage on 4/5 cards I get close to 500k on the third hit for both arts and buster. Of course you can use base cards when there is only 1 target per round, it is a bit luck based and it isn't great for 3 unit third rounds but it's pretty good

Do you have buster servants to take advantage of Koyans crazy buster buffs? If so, I'd pull for Koyanskaya. While Merlin is a bit easier to use with his longer lasting skills, Lady Avalon can work nearly as well, and better for arts teams. I would also suggest going for Oberon this December when his rerun hits. He's the #1 support to get after Castoria for farming. Koyan is a top tier waifu though haha

Proto Merlin can substitute in for Merlin but just remember that not all of her NP buffs are 5T like OG Merlin so you'll have to be more prudent about stacking her NPs over his.

Agree. Castoria + Lady Avalon is very good, double castoria is very good except you can't apply another of her invulns if one is already applied (however, it works well if you have NP2 or greater castoria because it can allow you to build one NP up to 200% while firing off the other Castoria's NP), Jeanne Ruler + Castoria is very good especially if all you need is extra survival. I cleared everything in story and all challenge quests for the last several years without Merlin because I don't have him and run mostly arts teams.

Im useless in the game but i already complete the main story in na.. its funny i used my morgan np1 and my castoria with someone morgan np5.. to pass everything. Since NA is boring (i dont have nothing to do) im playing in JP so i started to watch more fgo videos to learn... Ok i dont have Merlin i know i can use the Merlin of someone. Lmao, I used the same team to clear most of the story haha. Except I also had Koyanskaya of Light to buff my double Morgan strat. The other option for Merlin is Lady Avalon, aka Proto Merlin, who was just featured in the Summer 7 banners that just ended on NA. If you missed her, you'll have to wait until she or Merlin gets a rerun, or spend some money on the New Years GSSR banner and try for him there.

Tamamo and Jeanne are solid replacements for Merlin/Proto Merlin. You basically want another defensive-oriented servant to fill in the gaps between Castoria's NP, help fire off arts brave chains or give straight battery charge, and have a way to replenish HP if damage comes through the Castoria invuln stacks.

Yeah it's pretty good into most CQs, as mentioned in the video, it really is just buff removal that is super annoying for these team comps. I use it for most CQs going in blind and it rarely lets me down.

now im curious on something the append skill if its set up at the start depends on how much you get at the start does that speed up looping itself once its said and done cause one of my friends used append at level 10 for 20 percent and fired a copy of wizard marshell as a base for his attacker then setted up base loopers as turns progress but with grand marshel and append mana from start his attacker has a full np set first turn.. i think the concept is interesting but i wonder bout drawbacks advice be appreciated

Thanks for the video. I know this wasn't the topic of the video, but one change I think is long overdue for FGO is to do what many other gacha games do. That is, move limited servants to the permanent servant pool after a certain number of years that the servant has been out. Merlin is the perfect example of a servant that should be in the permanent servant pool by now. Why does FGO have to be so greedy and keep all these servants as limited for 5+ years? They've already made a ton of money on the game and continue to make more, and it is obvious only a small percentage of that is re-invested in the game itself.

Been getting through content just fine for the past 3 years without Merlin so he's not essential and really only used for tough boss fights and challenge quest content. Castoria is a must-have and can be used on any quest. Proto Merlin+Castoria will be very good as supports for Space Ishtar in hard difficulty content. Castoria is #1 support, Koyan Light is #2 support in my rankings. Oberon is probably #3. Merlin is nice to have especially once you've got the other top supports, but not a must-have. Good luck.

It just a fancy name for teams you have probably used before that are composed of multiple damage dealers. I used them all the time because sometimes you want one damage dealer to take the first wave or two and then bring in another damage dealer for the boss.

If you don't have Morgan and one of the other support, you can also use some 4 stars that are kinda decent, but obviously less than Morgan lol. I'm mainly thinking about edison but anyone who has overcharge in their skill set can work too. Or if you have her, I find myself using koyan dark pretty often when I need the 3 turn ignore invul. She's really amazing with that 30% battery for the whole team

Well, that would be sacrificing 2 supports since I believe ORT has guarantee buff removal before dealing a lot of damage that garuntees a servant will die and nullify guts so it isn't survivable when bar breaks. so in a way Yes until the bar breaks.

If you can't add np overcharge using an NP there are some characters that have it on a skill, like Ruler Da Vinci or Lancer Ryoma. Naturally, they won't be as consistent as Morgan and Himiko since you have to worry about skill cooldowns but they are options if you don't/can't use a friend's Morgan or Himiko.

If you want to use Koyan Dark in place of Morgan that's fine, like I mentioned in the video, DPS servants like Gilgamesh function just fine in the team even if they don't do much for the supports. The reason why Morgan is the top shelf pick is just because of her ability to help the supports help her more, but normal DPS servants are just fine.
