Which Summer Servant Should be Your Goal (Fate/Grand Order)

If you're someone watching this video and still feel unsure, think about the servants you already own and the coming challenges you'll be facing. For example, I have Merlin, Castoria, Waver, and Tamamo. Do you need Lady Avalon if you already have that many supports? No. At this point your only reason for summoning Lady Avalon is because you find her hot. That's it. Summer Ibuki. Do you already have a 3T looper that makes your life easier? If yes, then it's the same reason for Lady Avalon. (If you lack Berserkers, you may have to reconsider) Swimsuit Skadi is your desired choice. Why? Because she is an upgrade from Skadi. You'll loop better and have a better overall experience with quick card servants. If you don't care for Quick cards or Quick supports and you agree that Lady Avalon and Summer Ibuki are unnecessary because of the servants you already have, then congrats you can skip summer event and use your savings on something that will evolve your account or someone you whole heartily desire in the coming months.

Going for all 3 and I would say they're all conditional must-summons rather than true ones. For starters and like you said, RS is only a must-summon and the best of the 3 for you if you actually already have quick units for her to support. SI is only a must-summon DPS and the best of 3 for you if you're a new player and/or have none of the other arts omni loopers. And LA is only a must-summon and the best of the 3 for you if you're a new player and/or don't already have og Merlin. For someone with a reasonably-developed roster, it's more for the sake of optimization than actually requiring them for your account to be able to functionally clear content

I don't agree with summer Melu being better or as good as Ibuki. I have both lvl 100 NP1 and it's crazy how better ibuki can perform farming against anything. She literally can just go double Castoria and nuke everything. If you don't have a Castoria, I can see why you would rather have melu since she has 80% np and can run black grail regardless, but she did not powercreep Ibuki, as in my opionion, no one did. She is still the best farmer in the game in terms of viability and flexibility, not even close to the other ones. So if I could recommend pulling on anyone if you dont have many quick servants, go 100% for ibuki. She literally clears all the farming quests in events other than 90++. Also Erice is top 3 best single target looper, fight me.

For me, it basically boils down to want vs need. Do you need an art support? Roll for Proto Merlin. Do you need a quick support? Roll for Summer Skadi. Do you need an art looper? Roll for Summer Ibuki. If you want all of them? May God help you.

I'd argue that Ruler Skadi is a fantastic choice for Buster focused players as well: 100% Buster Crit, 15% Buster up, 15 star bomb and 5000% buster Star absorption is very strong all things considering, on top of everything else.

Another good reason for roll for ruler Skadi is that not only is a quick support, but she is even amazing for helping buster crit units, 100% buster crit damage for 3 turn, 20% atk and 15% buster up for 3 turn, plus 15 star every turn for 3 turns, and a star bomb of 15 star with Buster Absorption and of course a battery of 50% that is always usefull.

I’ll focus on Skadi. My options for arts supports are ok so I can manage regardless if Proto Merlin. Summer Ibuki is amazing, but she’s not my intended main arts looper (Summer Melt can do it for now and I will go after Summer Melusine next year). So I don’t really need her. My Quick servants could use the help. So that’s where I’ll focus.

I am conflicted, 'cause in one hand Merlin is the next lvl for some of my strongest teams, i have a robust list of arts and arts supports that would benefict from Arts Merlin, on the other hand my quick servants need a dedicated quick support, so many doors and strategies open with a single servant...and then we have Ibuki, a character that i truly dont need it, but she also is Ibuki, and as a certified monster girl enjoyer i need to try to get her.

actually i agree on your list. 2yrs ago when the event is happening, summer skadi is the most impactful in all of those banners. i only use proto merlin few times so she is least priority for me too. for summer ibuki, she is a powerful servant (berserker too) that can remove all defensive buffs of the enemy before attacking which useful in almost scenario (except unremovable). about archetype earth, you really need to invest a lot. cause her dmg on np1 is not so great.

I have skadi, and now, with summer skadi, you can basically allow a double skadi comp without supports. Which may sound sub optimal for damage, but OMG is it going to do wonders for farming, especially with macros where you can not guarantee the right support in your friends list.

Going for Summer Skadi all the way. Not only is she great for Quick support, but I also love her ascensions (and the Spiritron Dresses she’ll get next summer). I wouldn’t mind getting Lady Avalon too, but I’m okay skipping her. As for Summer Ibuki, I already have Summer Kama, so I’m good on that front.

Without Question. All I want from summer is everyone but Summer Ibuki. I don't want her because I already have options, and I really don't need anymore since Kammy is my main farmer, and Spishtar is at NP4, while Musashi is at NP5 (Though I mainly use Summer Musashi for CQs). I like Ibuki a lot, but Proto and especially Summer Skadi are my top SSRs for the summer event. I can't wait for Ashiya's spirit rondo dress code, though, lol.

Hey Ztl, maybe I missed a mention of it but Ruler Skadi is actually better support after the introduction of the mighty chain since her crit up is for the buster card meaning that a QNPAB gives crit chance up, np gain and Damage up with 200% Buster crit. And some of the best Quick loopers have 2 Buster, like Dantes

Ibuki needs Castoria to function as a farmer, and you'll probably most likely just get her at np1 soooo... i would not call highly needed, Proto Merlin is just arts Merlin but instead of an np seal, she gets a tick preventer, which is basically an np seal, but worst. Skadi is the most recommended out of the 3, and this is coming from someone with no quick farmers other than Charlmagne, she has the ruler class so resistant to 7 classes, has quick and buster supports capability, and you can use a caster Skadi with her since they're both "technically" two diff servants. Skadi all the way, but depends really on your preference. Do you want a faker that's hot, a totally not Caster Skadi in swimsuit, or a Mountain in a swimsuit... THAT IS HOTTTTT.

So I have: Caster Skadi, NP2 Spishtar and NP2 Summer Musashi, Merlin, Castoria and Tamamo So for me: Ruler Skadi: Yes, I think she's the top pick. She is not a huge improvement, but she's the biggest of the bunch. If you don't have caster skadi I think she's the no brainer of the 3, but with caster she does drop down, but I feel she still holds out as the tops. One thing to note though, her quick advantage is only 5% for common nodes as you can toss on the bond CE and ruler's isn't quick, while caster's is. But again that is just common nodes. If you're anything like me, you are almost never farming those and are instead doing event nodes and those you want the event CEs. Lady Avalon: Yeah, she's basically Merlin, but she does fit in better in general with arts teams. The main issue here is Castoria and Tamamo, as it is pretty darn rare to need her with that combo. That said she is still the optimal pick in several situations where Merlin would have been there. Another factor to consider is since her NP buff is only 3 turns, you actually want that higher NP level to offset the lost duration time as far as NP gain goes. It isn't critical, but without that she might not be a clear upgrade even in arts teams. Ibuki Summer: The chief problem she has isn't her, it is that she's in a crowded niche. You have all kinds of art aoe omni loopers now. She's creeps them sure, but so what. She herself is going to get creeped, and it is just creep. If have one, or two, or three, she's going to need heavy investment to beat your existing ones. For me, she'd have to NP2, double fou'ed and level 100 to even consider serious usage. BUT, if you lack a serious AOE omni looper, she's awesome! For me though, unless I do real well on both the other banners, she's pretty much a pass.

I can see where you’re coming from but I’d still have to disagree. It makes more sense to prioritize a support over any DPS since the supports themselves are much more unique and future proof your account. You even say that Ibuki is powercrept the year after her release which makes her replaceable. The same can’t be said for Proto Merlin or Summer Skadi who are effectively some of the best supports in the game. As for the argument of a player not having a character that uses specific card types such as arts, I feel this is somewhat short sighted as there are free characters who are great at DPS (ex - Robin Hood for arts) that will really excel with a decent support. The same can’t be said for supports since the only free to play options that are decent are Hans, Mozart, and Paracelsus all of which pale in comparison to their Five star competition.

I don't have OG Merlin and it's been hurting me on CQs at time so Proto Merlin is an easy number 1 for me. Ruler Skadi is great and all but other than my NP2 Caren and Summer Melusine (next year) I don't really have plans to use Quick much. Koyan of light for buster servants. Skadi ruler or caster for Quick servants. Castoria for Arts servants. That said Castoria is the best unit in the game full stop. Even if you don't have good Arts servants to pair her with she by herself is only lacking an offense np and a way to heal herself. Otherwise Castoria has it covered. She is probably the most consistently used servant in the game.

I like ibuki but I’m going to prioritize Skadi because I got so many great Quick units. Also I’m a bit of a fisherman and amateur paleontologist so I just love the Coelacanth and the Dunkleosteus!!! I’ll try for ibuki too but no Proto-Merlin. Don’t need.

I have like 300 SQ and no Castoria. Probably going for Skadi, though I don't have any Quick AOE NPs at level 3+. Only Edmond Dantes and Lancelot at NP2 while everyone else is at NP1.

That's enough, NP2 Dantes and Lancelot will be more than adequate, even if you might have to plugsuit and/or use a damage CE sometimes.

Quadruple Scathach Meta is the only meta I am interested in! Shishou is my absolute favorite servant and I FINALLY got Skadi to come home... so my #1 priority of the year is summer Skadi. I WILL blow through the game with 3 of my own Shishou's + a friend's, mostly because why WOULDN'T I??

Thank you for making this video! This resolves my inner conflict on who to prioritize. I want to say my first priority for this summer would be Summer Skadi. I like using my quick units sometimes, and would like to buff them up more. I’m not really desiring another aoe berserker as my Morgan is lvl 120 and np5. As for Proto Merlin, I like her concept, but not really in love with her np effects and duration.

Here's my priority for next week -Proto Merlin. Because it's a new servant and I like to collect new servants as much as possible, more so if they're very good to play. -Summer Skadi. Because I want to get back into playing Quick again. I like to switch up my styles from Buster, to Arts, to Quick, repeat, and sometimes it gets boring if I'm using the same servant for the nth time. -Summer Ibuki. Now, I love tall women, I love tall Oni, I love Ibuki Douji. However, I don't need another AOE DPS, especially a Arts-Berserker AOE since I have S. Musashi to cover that. I also have too many AOE servants that I can use and I want to mitigate benching 5* servants when I just pulled them, as well as Bond 10 everyone before quitting once the next summer in 2025.

You forgot best universal Quick looper, Caren, in our list of good Quick loopers. Also S. Melusine deals nowhere near S. Ibuki damage without power mods, it's like 70k, 50k, 50k difference on each node. It's massive difference for nodes 1 and 2, letting S. Ibuki farm some 90+ S. Melusine will have too small damage for.

Going for Lady Avalon at least Np2 then Summer as I leaning heavily on Arts servants as I have alot of them at NP5 AOE or ST. So if i have the spare quartz I'll try to get Summer Skadi but not a priority as much even though I have Skadi, She pretty much quite enough for me, as I only have a few lineup of Quick servants AOE or ST and I rarely get to those lineups as beyond my Arts teams I have Buster teams to as on alternative as my Busters servants are on average are NP2 and a ones few a NP5.

Hmm... Now I'm curious and would like some testing. My goal was to get Proto to replace normal Merlin in my CQ team, composed of Tamamo, BB and Merlin, and now I'm curious if Proto Merlin can replace Merlin and do a better job. Merlins charisma and invul were prime for the team, but the buster was always the extra, maybe using it as a heal, maybe just for the crit, never used the buster. Now, with Proto Merlin, the arts buff can be used effectively, but the NP only lasting 3 turns might affect the whole pace of fights

I could be wrong but at this point most of the events take place story wise during the lostbelts so you need to be in them aka Finnish part 1 to do them, not all of them need it but

You'll need to clear at least the first part of the game I believe . Luckily, if you don't reach summer this year, you'll have a whole year to prepare enough quartz for the rerun.

I've got 650 sq saved up, and plenty more between now and then. I'm planning on rolling all the summer banners, but Summer Scathach Skadi is my #1 so I can quick loop easier (support Skadi's are pretty hard to find). If I do get S Ibuki, she'll have to be np2 to compete with S Musashi. Proto Merlin sounds fun but not necessary.
