Shaft's entire budget went into the opening and episode 14's falling scene.

@@twitchykun Shaft has had managerial issues but Ive never heard anything about them paying low wages, so I assune hes paid quite well. His name is Genichirou Abe, and he has a prodigy/disciple at the studio named Hiroto Nagata.

I'm glad people still gather around negima after all these years.
Most of you who clicked this probably know what Negima?! is, but for those of you who never heard of it, it's my favorite manga series and none of these animation studios ever did it justice. The first studio that picked it up, followed the ecchi beginning and went down its own route. The second studio Shaft decided to skip 200 chapters and throw us into the meat of the story then proceed to rush it to no end. Negima isn't a typical ecchi harem story. There are fantastical elements like magic, aliens, time travel. There are amazing battles like the kung fu tournament in Mahorafest and gladiator fights. There is a hidden underlying plot that makes you view the beginning all over from a different angle. This series will betray your original thought of "ecchi harem", because it isn't even a harem. Please give the original manga a read. I hope the fanservice doesn't turn you away in the beginning because it's not just a shallow cashgrab story like many ecchi shows are today. The ending may feel sudden, but it was due to a copyright law that was going to be implemented that forced the author to drop the series in a hurry. He went back and gave Negima a proper ending in UQHolder (like a hundred chapters in). It's a rollercoaster ride and I promise it's worth it. Give it a shot.

Do you know what copyright that make akamtsu ken finished this manga ? I know that is the problem, but I don’t know what kind law which affect the author. 🧐
@konaccha4 жыл бұрын
@@SenorJapones The copyright law (which ended up not going through at the very end) gave anyone who had a "hand" in a series the power to sue people for copyright without the author's permission. This means that even though Ken Akamatsu loves doujin works (amateur music/manga) and allowed it for his series, the people involved in the production, serialization, etc would be able to sue the fan creators over his own series without his permission. They would be allowed to make deals without his consent and take the series (and effectively drop him) if they didn't like his direction with the work as well because they would be considered the "owner" of it rather than Ken himself.

Yeah the whole thing with Negima and why it's so commonly misunderstood is that in the beginning the creator just wanted to do a high-fantasy work. But his last series love hina inadvertently created the harem genre and was so popular, the publisher and his editors pushed for him to include harem elements in his new series too. Which is why we ended up with a series you could equally call one of the greatest harem or greatest serious fantasies and be equally right about both statements.

I agree this is not your typical harem. I enjoyed Negima a lot in my younger years, and up to this day I could still recall awesome reading experience i had with this series. This is more of a shonen series imo, with a dash of shoujo elements in it only. It could have stood up along the shonen shows we have right now if it was just adapted properly. I love this series a lot. Maybe I can go ahead and reread the entire thing again.
