Sir before you said if one person made several offences then he will punished for several offences. Example :if one person act theft its punishment is for 3 years and that person done act of robbery its punishment is 7 years then he will be punished for 10 years. But section 71 is about to limit of punishment of offence made up of several offences, it means that convicted person will be punished for maximum punishment for offence , not adding other punishment.
