@martinking96639 ай бұрын
Don’t usually comment on KZbin videos, not my thing. This is to anyone watching, coming from an angler born and raised here, DO NOT risk your life fishing here. These cliffs have claimed lives and bodies never recovered and come away often. There’s reason why the best local anglers don’t fish it. 1 walk along at low water you’ll see the undercuts and cracks not to mention the saturation of water from the storms and freezing weather we’ve had lately. What’s more of a concern is he’s fishing around the worst section of the cliffs. Good video, well done on the fish definitely not worth the risk.
@zulcronsports9 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment mate, I know they’re dangerous, I’ve walked them over low, it’s like a lot of cliffs that a lot of people fish. I get a kick out of fishing on the cliffs. Everything in life has its dangers, there are many thrill seeking sports out there a lot worse than fishing a cliff. I just hope that it doesn’t come down while I’m stood on there. I also Personally think this is the safer point out the two, the only thing fully under cut is the ledge off the front which I go no where near.

Good fish marra 👌, on your dongle rig can you tie hook on straight of is loop better ?
@zulcronsports9 ай бұрын
Apparently the loop is better as it allows the hook full movement… however, I’ve not tried just tying it
@meattasteslikemurder37079 ай бұрын
Circle hook only works properly with a loop it's what causes the perfect lip hook because the hooks not tied to the line it can literally turn back on itself. Cod suck and spit baits before finally swallowing sometimes feeling the prick off a j hook they spit and run

Great video. Why not lower it down on a grip wire so it survives
@zulcronsports9 ай бұрын
Yep, just seen another comment to do this! I absolutely will! Great idea!
@rossrobson88629 ай бұрын
Ive watched your videos since you started the channel and your a good angler, but showing yourself throwing a just undersize/just size codling off the top of the cliff and saying "back to fight another day, whether he survived that or not Im not sure, but if he did good for him" wasn't the best edit. A bit or care and respect for the fish getting returned is due! Yourself wouldn't be in good health if you were thrown of the top of the cliff hitting the water, if there was water, from that height! I attach a large 12/0 hook to the end of me leader and place the returning fish on the hook under the gill cover and lower the fish back down the cliff.You've reeled the fish up so you can lower the fish back down? A undersize/unwanted fish is never going to become big enough to take if it doesn't survive, and if it dies it just a waste. You've got a fair few viewer so you can influence people. We as Angler return a fish hoping to catch it bigger in the future.
@zulcronsports9 ай бұрын
You know what mate, fair comment!! I apologise mate!! I can see that this has been taken the wrong way. Unfortunately I have always returned my fish in this way, some do swim off, but I do like your idea and I WILL do that from now on!! Again I can only apologise. As an angler who does care about fish care, I will do better!!
@rossrobson88629 ай бұрын
@@zulcronsports Stewart your a sound bloke and a good angler I get that over the video, I wasn't looking for an apology but thank you. I'm just getting over to people there is a way of releasing fish. I've stood on roker, shields, blyth and other piers, and seen other videos of people fishing the cliffs dropping fish off them, as that's what people have done because you can't take undersize fish home and how else do you return a fish? and yer some swim off, but I've seen a lot of fish just go floating by which might have survived if they were lowered down even on the sinker grip lead which just become seagull food. It takes such a long time for a fish to get size, we have to look after them even if they are a rockling lol but the more fish alive in the sea the better the fishing will be. Thanks for taking onboard, keep up the videos because you are a class angler. jeers mate.
