I lost my cousin ( a young army lieutenant) on the front of kulna, I remember his mom at the time of his shahadat news tearful but said to his younger brother promise me you will join the army . His father major(r) tried to locate his grave but never found it because he was martyr in hand to hand combat in a jungle with Indian soldiers when he was trying to get supplies for his stranded company. Painful memories of 1971 but now I realize the real killers were someone in sheep clothing here among us all the time .

Bhutto was one of those two characters who were "cultivated", by the adversaries to dismember Pakistan. The adversaries have very brazenly boasted about it, time and again. It was Mujib in the East and Bhutto in the west, according to them. Had Bhutto been left alive -- he surely wouldn't have minded presiding over dismemberment of whatever was left of Pakistan after the 1971 debacle. Bhutto's villainy predates 1971 as well. He was the villain of precipitating the 1965 conflict as well. He was the one who egged Gen. Ayub Khan to war with India, to sort out the Kashmir issue. He was the "Advisor" to Ayub, in those times of strife. Had Gen Zia not hung him -- Bhutto wouldn't have minded dismembering the remnants of Pakistan, after the 1971 debacle.

Whatever is told here is very much true. At that time I was working in Pakistan Eastern Railway.I observed all the political activities very attentively. It seemed to me Bhutto was power hungry and the number of seats he won in west Pakistan was unexpected, and this unexpected result make him more hungry. He came here in Dhaka and talked to Mujib to share power, but by that time Yahiya declared Mujib will be the future prime minister of Pakistan and we the Bengali Pakistani were eagerly waiting to see that happen. Then Bhutto started the dirty game with the support of a few generals to split the country to fulfill his undue desire. I finally like to say as always Bhutto is the father of the Bangladeshi Nation. I know the whole history but here it is not possible to write everything at one time. Gen sahib, while criticizing Bhutto for not supporting democracy you have conveniently ignored six points of Mujib which he had declared to be non negotiable, including one on separate currency and 6th point on separate para military force for East Pakistan. You know it better than me that those six points could not form the basis of constitution for Pakistan. Several negotiating sessions were held in Dacca between Mujib, Yahya & Bhutto to agreeon a broad framework for a workable solution but due to rigid stand of Sh Mujib on his six points, no headway could be made. While this was going on, East Pakistan Rifles revolted and together with terrorists of Mukti Bahni, killed many Pakistani soldiers and civilians, particularly those from Punjab. Public sentiment was so anti Pakistan with active participation of India that for all intents and purposes, secession had taken place and by the time military action started, irreparable damage had been done by non other than Sh Mujib’s party, India and Mukti Bahni. Perhaps you don’t like Bhutto but your personal bias should not be reflected in your shows.

BEING A GENERAL AYUB KHAN WAS A CAPABLE ADMINISTRATOR. HE RAPIDLY MULTIPLIED PAKISTAN ECONOMY N INDUSTRY. BUT A MILITARY BRAIN IN HIM NEVER KNEW THAT 90% WEALTH OF PAKISTAN HAD PILED UP IN 22 INDUSTRIAL FAMILIES OF PAKISTAN AND LABORERS N FARMERS UNDER INDUSTRIALISTS AND LANDLORDS WERE DYING HUNGRY. EAST PAKISTAN ALONE HAD MORE POPULATION THAN THE REST OF FULL WEST PAKISTAN SO, THE ECONOMIC CONDITIONS OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC WERE COMPARATIVELY MORE WRETCHED. AND WHEN IN 1969 THE GENERAL PUBLIC REVOLTED IN BOTH WINGS OF PAKISTAN AND FORCED AYUB KHAN TO RESIGN, HE HANDED OVER THE GOVERNMENT TO ANOTHER MILITARY GENERAL MR. YAHYA KHAN. THIS WAS THE GENERAL WHO HAD THREE DESTRUCTIVE QUALITIES GATHERED IN HIS ONE PERSONALITY TO DESTROY THE COUNTRY. FIRST, A MILITARY GENERAL RUNNING A CIVIL SET-UP, SECOND, A HABITUAL DEAD DRUNKARD, AND THIRD, A HABITUAL ADULTERER LEAVING NO TIME TO TAKE CARE OF THE DEFENSE N SECURITY OF THE COUNTRY. 03. MUJIB'S SIX POINTS IN THEIR ENTIRETY WERE ABSOLUTELY NON-ACCEPTABLE TO KEEP THE FEDERATION OF PAKISTAN INTACT AND WORKABLE. ACCORDING TO THESE SIX POINTS, THE CENTRE WOULD HAVE DEFENCE, FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND HALF OF THE CURRENCY SUB-DIVIDED BETWEEN CENTRE AND EAST PAKISTAN AND THE REST WOULD GO TO ALL THE PROVINCES. IT MEANT THE CENTRE WOULD HAVE TWO N A HALF DEPARTMENTS ONLY. HERE IN THOSE LAST ROUNDS OF TALKS AMONG YAHYA, BHUTTO N MUJIB, MR. Z.A. BHUTTO TRIED HIS BEST TO CONVINCE MUJIB TO AT LEAST FOREGO HALF POINT OF SEPARATE CURRENCY FOR EAST PAKISTAN BUT MUJIB REMAINED ADAMANT. IN THOSE CONDITIONS ACCEPTANCE OF THESE SIX POINTS WOULD HAVE MEANT FIVE PIECES OF PAKISTAN INSTEAD OF TWO. I DON'T THINK MR. Z.A. BHUTTO WAS REMOTELY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SEPARATION OF EAST PAKISTAN OR ANY OF HIS POLITICAL MOVES OR PLOT IN HIS POLITICAL HISTORY PROVES THIS. HIS FATHER SIR SHAHNAWAZ BHUTTO HAD PLAYED A KEY ROLE IN JOINING SIND WITH PAKISTAN IN 1947. WHEREAS MUJIB HAD HIS HISTORY LIKE INVOLVEMENT IN AGARTALA TREASON CASE AND HIS FAMOUS SIX POINTS AGENDA ALSO SHOWED THE SAME. HE WAS DOING THIS BECAUSE OF BEING STAUNCHLY ANTI-MILITARY RULE OF AYUB KHAN N YAHYA KHAN. O4. INDIA PLOTTED AND EXPLOITED THE POLITICAL N MILITARY BLUNDERS OF PAKISTAN MILITARY GENERALS TO THE FULL ALONG WITH THE VERY VULNERABLE GEOGRAPHICAL POSITION OF EAST PAKISTAN. PAKISTAN MILITARY WAS FIGHTING INDIAN MILITARY ON THREE OUTSIDE BORDERS ATTACKS, FOURTH ONE WAS THE BAY OF BENGAL EFFECTIVELY BLOCKED BY MUKTI BAHNI AND INDIAN NAVY AND 100% OF POPULATION INSIDE ALONG WITH MUKTI BAHNI. NO MILITARY OF THE WORLD COULD HAVE WON THE WAR IN SUCH ADVERSE CONDITIONS.
