These sound good. I like the ride, the hats and the trash sound nice on the mics. Beards looking Chubb too.

For those freaking out about the Sabian endorsement, this is just a 1 video demo of a cymbal pack. It's not like he's permanently switching. Ben probably already contacted Sabian and thomaan before making this video to make sure everything was good.

Hoppeii as an owner of the 16 and 18 inch crash and the 10 inch splash I can say that they certainly do. They get very nasty looking very fast tho. There's not much of a protective coating on there like you get with the big brand cymbals, but big brand cymbals at this price dont even come close to this sound

Were Sabian okay with you reviewing cymbals that aren't theirs? I thought a part of endorsement was that you could only use the company's products
@peterjsmcleod33416 жыл бұрын
Ricardo Cojones Companies aren’t that controlling or bothered really. He’s reviewing on behalf of Thomman, nothing wrong with that!
@ricardodelsilva38916 жыл бұрын
Maybe, I just thought it was a clause in the contracts when drummers get endorsements. Maybe it's different for different companies.
@peterjsmcleod33416 жыл бұрын
Ricardo Cojones It wouldn’t be an enjoyable relationship if you were confined and not even allowed try or review other products on behalf of another company. That’s just my view.
@ricardodelsilva38916 жыл бұрын
I don't disagree with you. I have no doubt that it must sometimes be confining and restricting. But if you look at endorsements as a business deal, then it makes sense that a part of that deal would be to only review or use the products of the company that is supporting you. Also, I know some drummers endorsed by relatively small drum/cymbal companies, and in their contracts they were told that they could only be seen as using their products. That's why I assumed Sabian did the same practice. Maybe I was wrong.
@ricardodelsilva38916 жыл бұрын
I don't think it's a conspiracy theory. Artists endorsed by the same company will meet at these different conventions (like how JP Bouvet, Mike Johnston and Matt Halpern all met at the Meinl Drum Festival), but sometimes drummers are friends before they become endorsed, and they will suggest to their friends to join a particular company.

Hi Ben, awesome review! You earned a subscriber today but I'm actually quite curious what you think of the durability of these cymbals. I'm quite a heavy-hitter myself and although I would love to invest in some good Zultan's, I'm kind of scared to break them easily. What are your thoughts on this?

They sound good! I don’t like the 16” too much, I feel that a 16” needs to be medium thin or thin to lower the pitch as heavy 16” crash cymbals are way too bright. Great review 😘
@hannes17344 жыл бұрын
They're actually not that heavy, i'd say medium to med thin. Even the ride sounds very full and can be crashed, too

Between these and the Wuhan new traditionals, which one you guys think sounds better? I'm almost decided to go with the Wuhans. I know these and the Wuhans are budget territory but I am not buying by brand but for sound. My church is actually helping me with the cost of the cymbals and I was going with the Zildjian K Custom Dark Box Set which is like $1,000+ and I almost buy them until I hear the Wuhans. Yeah, you may think that I'm absolutely CRAZY for preferring an "inferior" brand, more so if we're talking about Zildjian top-of-the-line models like the K's, but I just refuse to shed that kind of money without trying other options. I know they're not in the same sound characteristics because the K's are dark and these Zultans and also the Wuhans are bright sounding cymbals, but with the Wuhans, I heard a few people say that they're kind of in the middle like not too bright, not too dark and like I said, I just wanna try something different before shelling my hard-earned money. Maybe someone can understand me idk lol
@sfsf55556 жыл бұрын
are wuhans even available in europe?
@RaymondLugo6 жыл бұрын

@Jeremy_Sims5 жыл бұрын
We’re on the same search right now 😂💯. But here’s what I’ve noticed Wuhan Cymbals have variety but less cymbal packs than Zultan, look less presentable than Zultan (presentation matters) and I’ve heard from people and from research, that they’re inconsistent so you have to play and pick the gem yourself, which really isn’t possible because Wuhans aren’t everywhere you know? And Wuhans are apart of universal percussion they went out of business.... so Wuhans are tough to come by at this moment ANY WAY. So for me and for you(because we’re both on the same search, asking the same question) I think we should pick Zultans, they have a website you can hear every cymbal they have a simple distributor to go to, it’s not hard to find or losing stock and Zultan has a dark cymbal line and diversity to my knowledge check them out man 💯.

@razgriz3806 жыл бұрын
It's the standard measure of 'pro' level cymbals. All firms have their own signature blend and as it's the highest grade generally available it's the most sought after creating demand and higher cost. Doesn't need to be gold to be valuable. Demand drives cost.
@danieladamczyk086 жыл бұрын
The only reason cymbals are expensive is because of the labor put into crafting them, not the material. Cheaper b20 cymbals are made in China because labor costs are low compared to the U.S. That's How handmade b20 cymbals like Wuhans can be cheaper than handmade B8 cymbals Like Paistes.
