I just bought an XT2 and found a way to move the route from one collecting to another! When you are in the “Unorganized” collection, you hit the 3 dots on the upper right, then Select and Edit, check the box of the route you want to move, and then hit the icon that looks like 3 books and it will move that route to the collection you chose.

Thank you for explaining these apps better than Garmin has. I'm new to my Xumo XT2, but have a Garmin Watch (connect and IQ on my phone). Then I see all these other apps and was and still a bit confused as to what I need to use on my motorcycle. I wish in Garmin's case with apps "Less was more". Too many hoops made me want to give up on the Xumo XT2 lol. It's great with what I know...but yet overwhelming. Your video is saved in it's own folder for reference. Thanks.

Thanks for the very well explained tutorial On the latest software version for my XT2 which is running "Ver 4.60". I can now use the route planer to make a new route and once it's saved it automatically creates into its own individual "collection" in the Explore App. IE: I can use route planer on the XT2 to make a route from say Brisbane to Sydney (here in Australia) Save the route with given name "Sydney Big Trip" I can then just anytime open the Explore App and it will show "Sydney Big Trip" as a saved route. No need to use the Tread App to move it from any uncategorised collection, to another collection/route folder. 👍🏍

The XT has traffic and weather also. Riding around Washington, DC, I depend on the traffic automatically routing me around jams. The road conditions and weather radar are on the weather page. Very useful.

Thanks for the nice and clear explanation! Driving with a Zumo XT 1 at the moment. Nice piece of equipment but miss the routeplanner at the device as with the zumo xt2 Also thinking of going for the xt2 to pair with the sena headset and iPhone for music and calls. The streaming by the tft of the bmw r1250gs is not that great. What is your opinion after using the xt2? Thanks again for your advice. Cheers from the Netherlands. Rob

Another comment- like me you did all this online ie both devices connected to WiFi. It’s a bit more tricky to do offline with Tread on your phone and then using Bluetooth to get routes into the XT2. I eventually found you have to pull the Tread app route into the XT2 which was not easy to find the menu for.

Great video! I'm actually thinking of buying the XT2, but I have 2 questions. One reviewer says that it works on and off, he says that the unit shuts off by itself and even went on to say that for a whole day, the unit was useless on a trip, did you experience that? Second, in choosing adventure, are you able to choose "paved roads" only? I love the concept of the curves, but I'm not interested in taking dirt roads. Thanks in advance!

Good video, thanks. Do you know if the micro sd is used by the Zumo to store anything created by it or Tread or is it only there to dump files onto from a pc? Also if I put a gpx file on the sd card does the device keep it there when not i use?

Is it possible when you have loaded a gpx into the treadapp to send that gpx to the xt2 ? I must be overlooking something with certainty because this must be possible. It is way i even bought the xt2 for. Solely for when using the app it had to be extremely simple to send the gpx over.

Hi. @13:28 you mention you could not find any way to move Saturday to another collection... Have you tried selecting it and then choose the wrench icon to see if there is a way in there? I'm pretty sure the first XT1 let's you do that.

I like the XT2 but find importing GPX files takes an enormous amount of time, to the point I thought the device was locked up. Like a planned trip to Spain with 10 routes took over 90 minutes to import after moving the file across from my PC. Is this normal?

I’m planning a route on the XT2 but when I then find it in the Tread app, it’s different- and of course as soon as the Tread route is ‘saved’ it syncs and becomes the master version, so overwrites the XT2 route I just saved. Incredibly frustrating. Any suggestions?

Perhaps you have different "adventure" settings between the phone App and the Zumo XT2?
@andrewc755-t6t11 ай бұрын
@@seanb1081 I think the issue has been fixed or at least improved by software updates.

Shoot, thought I dropped a comment but not seeing it now... After thinking about software requiring pulling tracks to your phone - seems deliberate to me. Get data off the device means they can pull it back into the cloud to feed the popular routes (and what ever other uses they may have for your data). Also, have you pulled data off the device? I noticed you mentioned it's possible to put the data on the memory card, what is the format? I would hope GPX so it could easily be used in other apps. I like to aggregate my routes to help plan new trips on new roads...

I simply cant make adventures routes. No mater what I do, I go on highways. I can make a adventures route in the tread app, but when syncronised to my XT2, the routes changed to different settings. Do someone have the same problem?

I just purchased an XT2 and I'm baffled, it's not possible that it's no longer supported by Base Camp and that Garmin hasn't thought of developing software to edit tracks from the PC; inconceivable, I am very disappointed.
@davidwood66796 ай бұрын
I've been frustrated too. I saw a good video a bloke in England prepared that unfortunately I can't find again to share with you. He used Garmin Connect (you need to register an email address and password to use it) to prepare a route using the Training and Planning\Courses menu. This can be saved as a GPX file and transferred from the computer to your phone (I used icloud), imported into Tread and then onto the Garmin. it's very cumbersome but I found the detail in the Connect maps allows a lot of flexibility in the route design, showing a lot more roads and trails where I live (Lake Macquarie in Australia) than the Garmin maps.

Unfortunately, I could not benefit from this tutorial. You're delivery with you fingers continually flicking in front of my eyes was too much... and after a while I had to shut it down as it was beginning to upset me. Look at this this way. If someone comes up to you and starts fixing their fingers in from of you eyes... eventually something is going to happen. I understand if this is a mannerism but you need to keep it hidden from your viewers. Otherwise you will eventually tune them out and they will shut down your tutorial. That is clearly not your internet. But unless someone says something and you completely miss the disconcerting effect after viewing your own video... what can I say.🙄

@@TallyHoTech He is a bit right. A lot less movement of the hand / fingers so close to the screen would be way better. As a viewer you want to educate yourself. Because of the lack of knowledge that you have. The finger movement becomes a bit busy. Trying to minimalise it would not be so bad to do. I understand that this is extremely difficult. As soon as a viewer has a higher knowledge of the device and app this becomes less distracting. F.e. i was watching this video hoping i could catch a certain function. So you will be extremely concentrating yourself while looking at the video. So you will miss nothing. But because i am only human and have little to no knowledge had to go back in the video a lot if times. I can understand what he means by what he commented. Also people can have alkinds of problems up in da brain. Autism f.e. and i could make a list of others. That would make following a quick video with a lot of stuff in it extremely difficult for a person. F.e. try to watch an educational video like this with a lot of content on a Sunday morning at 7 a-clock while you just have had two hours of sleep after dragging yourself home coming from a pub. You choose to watch it another time when the brainfog is cleared up. Many people do not have that choice because by a disorder they are experiencing this constantly. I think that was what he was expereincing with the constant hand / finger moving without a direct functional purpose. Also people can be dyslectic. So not a chance in Hell for such a person to get help for a specific problem by reading. So maybe last hope cracking that problem by watching a video ? "Whining" was not really the best reply. I do not mean it as an assault. It was simply a case of not knowing. But such a person can really be hurt by giving such a reply.
