Thank you for the review! The hotel looks nice, will probably stay there with hubby later this year. The lack of toothbrushes was strange, but I've never seen pajamas provided outside of Japan... and frankly I wouldn't wear them anyway, it's like wearing used underwear. Who knows if they are properly sanitized. I also always bring my own towel.

You must always carry your own tooth brush and tooth paste. Occasionally you are able to get one at the front desk. No pajamas at any hotel. You always have such nice amenities at Japanese hotels. You don’t normally get much in Europe or america. Your meals and food selections are much nicer, too.

Part of being a five star service hotel is they normally can provide a toothbrush on request.

In general you don't get a deal in Europe. Many hotel rooms are dated and offer few amenities. In Asia the first class hotels provide guests with a luxury environment. Also in many top Asian hotels guests can choose extensively between an Asian course or a western one. In Europe just forget it. BTW never ever leave your toothbrush in the bathroom because you may not know what the cleaning maids will use it for. Always store your toothbrush in your luggage.

Wow. Was not expecting a Book of Mormon in the hotel room. That was honestly a surprise seeing that in there. I wonder if that's a new thing, did someone else leave it there or is it a common thing to leave in hotel rooms in Zurich? I still have my childhood hardcover copy. But the city looks amazing.

Hi Anna. The room looks amazing and spacious, the amenities are great(though 6CHF for kitkat is a ripoff), the view is spectacular! The breakfast at the lounge looks delish as well!

I think that might have been the nicest hotel you've been to yet! and the lounge looked very inviting & comfortable. btw, I'm guessing, as an American, but I think providing pajamas to hotel visitors is probably a Japanese/Asian thing - I've never seen them offered in American hotels - so it's not surprising if European hotels don't provide them either.

Given that it is both in Switzerland and came with free food, the price is reasonable! Of course, Utsukushi Hime Anna gets a room upgrade!😁 Most western hotels don't seem to offer items like bathrobes, slippers and personal care items like Asian hotels do!😢

Hi Anna. A wonderful choice of hotel and you were lucky you got upgraded to a Junior Suite room. I loved the superb views of the river and city from your room. It was very nice of the hotel to also give you that power bank gift. Can anybody staying in the hotel get access to the Club Lounge or do you need to be a Marriott Club member or something like that? Take care of yourself and have a lovely weekend.

Happy Friday Anna ...really nice hotel 😀. Have stayed in a couple of Marriott Hotels in the past and have always enjoyed my stay there. Lovely looking room and food looked delicious..great upgrade 🤣. Nice view of a beautiful city ...😊. Learned a couple of things watching ...1) didn't know about Toblerone..shocking ..and 2) if you want a kitkat in Switzerland..start saving ..what a ripoff 🤣. Most European hotels don't offer as many amenities as Japanese hotels ..always have to take toothbrush, paste and PJ's when in Europe. Japanese hotels rule in the amenities department 😀. I stayed in this hotel once before some time ago, the walk from Zurich HB and the city center seems a little far but getting to the airport by Uber/Taxi from this hotel is really convenient ☺️

@@travelloveranna probably the best way the describe isn't the word 'far' but a little 'secluded' since there is no tram lines that serves the hotel area and not much interesting shop a long the walk from Zurich HB to the Mariott. Renaissance is definitely far away from Zurich HB and I would rather not make the walk there and take a train or tram there instead 😂

In Western countries hotels do not give out toothbrushes or pyjamas. I love corner rooms. Hotel was good. Had lots of food.

Typical hotels in Switzerland and also Germany, they are very expensive, so I only use hotels during business trips, when required. Never ever use a minibar, that is crazy money burning evil place😂. Be careful, sometimes minibars come with sensors, an item taken counts as bought.
