Damn I hate slam poetry... Too many subtleties lost in these woods, Too many forked tongues, like quicksilver flashed Too many loose passwords and epitaphs. Too fast they came, too much they borrowed, Too long they stayed and too far they wandered. All for the sake of a feigned excitement Too many crayons crossed too many lines With too many colors to make much sense. Too many prophets screw the prophecy, Too much rebellion kills revolutions.

DocFlamingo I didn't like slam poetry until I listen to the to this day project by Shane k. That's when I learned that everything has a deeper level of understanding of meaning through figurative language listen to the to this day project give it a try please it will change your life

Do you realise you just wrote slam poetry? YOU HAVE BECOME THEM.
@DocFlamingo9 жыл бұрын
cherry13572 No, I didn't. That is a decima; a type of fixed form. It is ten lines of five foot, metered blank verse. Also, it doesn't mention being fat, gay, sexually molested, or in any way being misunderstood or empowered by having been so. Nor do you have to read it like you're William Shatner with a head full of mescaline.

Shut the fuck up man cause no one asked for your opinion or maybe you cant read cause no one forced you to listen
@DocFlamingo9 жыл бұрын
It should read; "Shut the fuck up, man, because no one asked for your opinion; or maybe you can't read because no one forced you to listen." Learn some fucking punctuation you cretin. I will also comment as I please where I please. I don’t need your permission.

Just say me! Where is the rhyme? WTH? Is this a poetry? Actually i'm from Russia - from Country, in which every poet has high-style rhyme. So what the poetry for you? What difference between the poetry and prose?
@jameswagstaff432810 жыл бұрын
It does rhyme, just not predictably. A poem is less restrictive without having to force every line to rhyme. If it doesn't rhyme often, the words that do rhyme stand out (or words that don't rhyme stand out if it rhymes often. IMO rhyme makes some serious poetry (or just sections) appear cheesy. Good prose-like poems still have a nice flowing series of sounds, and can emphasize certain sections by stuttering the flow up.. but this poem sucks lol
@DocFlamingo9 жыл бұрын
This is "slam" poetry. It is a bunch of self-pitying, pretentious crap read with excessive, feigned passion to distract from the fact that it really isn't saying anything at all.
@madisworld25889 жыл бұрын
Poetry doesn't have to be rhyming, it is simply poetic words fashioned into a beat, or pattern. I understand if you simply enjoy poems that rhyme, but this is still technically poetry.

The Auroras of Autumn by Wallace Stevens. Shelley-wise I like Queen Mab better.

This is not poetry. And it shouldn't be. Spreading misconceptions in an attempt to achieve fame. Poor fellas. This ain't lastin'. Read your own beat poets (Ginsberg, Kerouac e.t.c) and you'll start to understand the difference...Wannabes ffs...
@wavetech_8 жыл бұрын
LayLay's Corner Well you're kinda sad if you are "disgusted" by someone you don't know... :p w/e makes you feel nicer about the world. Btw I never said I "love" Kerouac or Ginsberg. I just gave an example of good *poetry* in which work has been put. Profficiently crafted on paper, and yet again and again checked for needed subtraction of words. Because that's what poetry SHOULD be...not "mambling" our opinion and speaking of overused and before said - by huge people, quotes. Thanks and have a nice day.

+Wavetech There are many types of poems. This piece falls in the category of slam poetry. It doesn't have to rhyme. You should search it up

My Crazy World The poets I referred to, do not use rhyme techniques. And of course I know slam "poetry", or else I would be more ignorant than the first guy. :) P.S.: I guess you could research the poets I spoke of, as I think you haven't read them. Have a good one.
@cookiesrgewd64948 жыл бұрын
this is free verse its another genre of poetry such as a haiku it usually doesn't rhyme either I can see ur misconception and y its there but y not study all poetry and maybe u can be as good as the guy on that stage😄
@wavetech_8 жыл бұрын
RPGspecialist There is no misconception sir. On the contrary. I hoped what I've said until now would imply the opposite. Well it doesn't really matter anyway. Keep believing what you want. I just stated my opinion.
