I finally got my driver's license after two tries! It is pretty easy to make simple mistakes that might lead to a failure during the test, but don't get discouraged if it happens to you. Failing doesn't mean you're a bad driver-just keep practicing and give it another shot. As for my case I took an extra step to help myself out. I reached out to a private licensed DMV attorney who helped me write a provisional letter. This allowed me to bypass the driving test altogether, and I was issued a provisional driver's license that's valid for 12 months. Now that I have my license, I can drive for a year before I need to renew! If you're feeling really nervous about the driving test, consider switching to a provisional driver's license. It's a great option that doesn't require a driving test. Good luck!

@@Laylaspecter19 no it isnt, a provisional license grant individuals more driving privileges and fewer restrictions than a permit allowing us to drive unsupervised but with certain conditions such as time restriction or limitation on the number of passengers.

Just got mine after a couple of attempts! Remember, failing the test doesn't mean you're a bad driver - keep practicing and stay positive. If you're feeling nervous about the test drive, consider getting a provisional driver's license. This allows you to skip the driving test and get your license sooner. Just like I did, you can contact a private license and professional DMV agent to help you with this process. With a provisional license, you can drive for 12 months before renewing it. Good luck on your driving journey!

Edit: I took my driving test back on August 28, 2024 and I failed it (80 demerits and even an automatic fail). I retook it this past Sept. 06, 2024 and passed it; unfortunately I also received 20 demerits, even though I disagree with the examiner about me not being cautious while turning and parking. Anyway, I just want to thank you for being such a great driving instructor, Jacqueline. I watched many of your videos over and over, and I can honestly say they were a tremendous help not to only pass the driving test but also for aspiring to and working toward being a safe and good driver moving forward. Best of luck and keep providing great driving lessons; you're doing a fantastic job and helping thousands of people :). ---- Thanks a lot, Jacqueline and Emma! This was quite informative and I liked Emma's honesty about the places where she could've done better. You might've covered it in other videos about turning implicitly but I think a video about at what point to straighten the wheels after a right/left turn would be awesome (Answer: I think this is mostly based on experience and muscle memory but I have noticed that once you see the car is straight and center, it's simply a matter of letting the steering wheel slide over your hands and the car itself straightens the wheel, after all the car always want the wheels to be straight and center).

@@jaynefaux9742 I just needed to pay for the license (around 57USD), gather some ID documents and schedule an appointment in my local administration and finances service center. I arrived, delivered my documents, got my photo taken and that’s it. The “test”, you could say, comes in real life where you have to sort out all kind of obstacles and other mad drivers… while learning how to drive 😅 About rules, principles and law, well… that’s something to be studied on our own in order to avoid bribes or scams. Mexico City is wild.

My dad has always been one of the most strict person in my life. i remember vividly when he was teaching me how to drive then thats over 35yrs ago,i remember him slapping me when i was about to wrongly onertake a big truck and he asked me not to go but i was nervouse i was surprise he could slap me while i was driving.but now Instructor are always there to guide you thropugh and score you i dont think tjhats something you all should be scared of, but ever sine i met this special DMV agent he made my driving life easy and i was able to get my drivers license in 7 days. I failed for the second time road test because not really sure about my parallel park and the long backup. here in Canada, the examiner is very particular in the shoulder check, every turn needs to be shoulder checked and the eyes must be checked the rearview mirror and the side mirror left and right thank you for sharing this video with your daughter Jacqueline she is an awesome driver. my upcoming road test on July 22 I'm hoping 🙏 I pass ❤

@@xen.x5664 I passed! :) I was terrified the evening/morning leading up to it, but I did a deep breathing exercise while waiting in the DMV. Once the test started I just tried my best to stay really present and not get in my head, I took deep breathes when I noticed I was getting nervous. I made a few minor mistakes, but it was fine - the examiner and I even made a tiny bit of small talk. I wish the best of luck to anyone about to take their test! Hello, this is embarrassing to admit, but I am 28 and have never tried to get a license. (I have not even attempted the permit test!) However, recently I have made a personal goal to change that. ... I am so glad to have found this youtube account! I live in Berkeley, and without doxxing you guys, I recognize those roads, so watching this instantly relaxed me. I am very nervous to drive in the bay area. Sorry if this is too much to ask; I wonder if it would be possible to pay you for a teaching lesson?? I am having trouble finding spots to practice in our area (very few empty parking lots or streets) so even just having that bit of expertise from you would be very helpful! I failed my exam when I slower around 30 from 35. When I was in a school zone, she said why are you slow in the car I said, During school, she said no, while if there was no light flash, just stay at 35 mph so I could go 35mph. In a school zone, when is the light not flashing?

Update I didn’t pass got 78 needed an 80. 😭😔 Almost! If I either pass parallel, backing, and parking on a hill then I would’ve pass the test. Going to practice. Second time a charm. 🙏🏼🤞🏼
