Zwischenchug Taking a slurp of tea instead of immediately providing the expected analysis.

"cavalier au bord, cavalier mort" We also call that king of knight "le cavalier MVL" because Maxime Vachier Lagrave has the habit to put his knight on the a or h column

Wow Dan got this one out fast! Actually that move Rf1 also shows another principle -- how an attacked piece can counterattack.

Daniel, I must say that I am impressed by your excellent pronunciation of German! And, as usual, a very well done presentation of the game.

That was a great win and fine analysis. Sadly I am busy tonight and will miss the live broadcast. Thanks Daniel.

Daniel is the only non-German chess commentator who can pronounce the words "Zwischenzug" and "Zugzwang" correctly.

@1:44 HN spent 1:30 and Pragg 2:00, as Hikaru said he was using a candidates prep for this game. What do you mean used a lot of time?
@PowerPlayChess
@PowerPlayChess 2 ай бұрын
Not quite sure when I said that. Nakamura used a lot of time when it got messy, not so much before then.

Instead of ...Re5 by Prag why not play R8e8 (threatening Re2+) if he wants an active game. If white went ahead and plays Nd6 then Re2+ should be deadly

That's a pity! I rather enjoy the success of the young Indian players as they play with a refreshing lack of fear.

Very impressing german and french pronunciations. But Nepo's Name,- (so wrongly written from russian to english ), even he explained to you personally is still to be improved. NepOOOmnashi . Stress on second syllable. Last syllable ist by far more a shi than chi. Put your tongue a little bit more straight forward to the teeth. Learn the russian ABC. All of you. It takes everybody a couple of houres or days. And what a big world is oppening up.
