Fixed the same oil leak on my 2012 Concours using AT-205 Re-Seal. Fatten the rubber gaskets, and so far, it worked.

Thank you for info cause I got 2007 zx14 jet black and do the work on bike myself and my valve covers started leaking around 60,000 miles and all im going to do is add washers and clean it cause of the BS after you change it 🤣 but not leaking in spark plug holes. Im waiting on my stainless header kit to get here before I do anything. Got new front rotors and pads with front brake master rebuild kit too of no brakes😳and I hate not having my front brakes cause I love riding out over 100. Putting new steering stabilizer on it too to for high speeds i do, plus I race it too. I got new fork seals too I got to do and dread it 🤣. Good luck

What kind of oil do massage therapists use? Palm oil! The washer is such an easy fix. I thought were going to use a regular bolt. The washer is a much better idea. Very good idea! Thank you!

I have a 2006 zx14 and it's on the front left side cover new gasket I'm doing this thanks

Agree,I did this along with applying a slim layer of silicone on 09 ZZR1400 and it has never leaked again. Quite a job to remove everything to get valve cover out...but it saved me a money I'd spend on mechanic.

What kind of silicone did you use and how well is it working?
@wowerman3 жыл бұрын
@@sparkymedic I used high temp automotive silicone ( no idea what brand it was ).Along with 0'5mm washers added to valve cover bolts.It was dry till I sold the bike.BTW.I kept old gasket.

@@wowerman awesome! I'm going to be attempting that on my own. Any thought on having the gasket replaced to make sure it has not worn out and then apply the washers and silicone? Have 64000km on my '06 14.

Good tip , but you don’t actually follow up with pictures of a non leaky valve cover do we just assume it worked? 👍

Did this work? cure the leak?

Did you give there also silicone or no? How strong tighten the screws? Tot the end or using torque wrench?
@DRKKNTRACING2 жыл бұрын
I used a 1/4" drive ratchet and turned just the head of the ratchet. Just snug anymore and you'll break or strip the thread. No silicone

So did this truly stop the leak ? Got a customers c14 in the shop now w the stupid valve cover leak... already cussing the douche bag engineers with how much garbage is in the way.... but if i truly dont have to pull the valve cover that would be a massive blessing & time saver....

Anyone have any luck with the center front bolt? Didn't want to drop the engine if I didn't have to. But there's something in the way where you can't even get the bolt to clear the hoses.
