I got pulled over going 106 in a 55. I was already pulled over waiting for him with my paperwork ready. He said, "man I was hoping you would run. Why were you going that fast?" I said because it's fucking awesome. Knowing I was getting a horrible ticket so why not. He asked me if I wanted to take off so he could chase me for a few miles? I just laughed but he didn't. I said I'd just take the ticket. He wrote me up for 65 in a 55. I'm still stunned till this day.

My wife and I got stopped like that by a deputy because we were riding ebikes on a sidewalk. He thought Texas law prohibited what we were doing. It does not. It took 3 weeks of me sending him copies of Texas Transportation code for him to stop debating with me. At least he didn't try to ticket us. The cop in your video was way cooler.

I think a lot of people are misinterepreting this guy. He seems genuine and didn't give the rider a hard time. His choice of words was a bit off, but it was probably a mistake. I had a CHP pull me over after he tailed me for about 2 miles going the legal speed limit. He jumped out his cruiser and said, I want your key so there’s no issue with me taking off 🤦. He pulled me over for my plate at a bad angle and could not read it. I asked him, why did you wait so long to pull me over? He said, he was waiting for an air ship to assist because he thought I was going to run! 🤦. He didn’t write me a ticket but at the end of the interaction he said, he was hoping I’d run and that he wanted a pursuit! 🤦. I got all this on my go pro! There’s cops that will try and instigate drivers/riders to get their own adrenaline rush or egos met! I’m not saying these cops are bad but when you hear the comments of I hope or wanted you to run that’s not in line with protecting the public but instead using citizen as tokens for their game(s). Not to mention peoples lives are at risks. Not cool!

I have this bike too, and the thing is, it sounds like its absolutely hauling when its going neighborhood speeds. Its the nature of the engine. People think you're riding like a mad man, but its just in 2nd gear. No one would realize how much more headroom there is when they hear you come by at 6k. That's what I'm guessing happened here, what he meant by "drew my attention". It sure sounds like you're mobbing on it if you don't know bikes and don't know this bike in particular. And your exhaust, straight and to the point like it is - way more so, I'd imagine. It screams everywhere it goes and that does draw some attention. Still, thee most refined, fully-enjoyable bike I've owned.

The one thing i will point out is that because you mounted your license plate like you have, it is hard if not impossible to tell if you have a valid registration at a glance. I am not sure if it is even legal to mount it at that angle, it should be clearly visible, which would probably help you out with these checkup stops as well.

This is how a stop is supposed to go. Respect towards each other goes a long way. Not all police are bad or ignorant and all the other labels we give law enforcement. They are just trying to do their job and when they work with people , as they should , it shows respect and dignity to the person being pulled over. He wasn’t condescending in any shape or form. This is the first time I've ever heard a member of the state even allude to the fact that there's a difference between the letter of the law (exactly how it's written) and the spirit of the law (the actual intent and purpose for its existence) like that. Two great examples are speed limits and stop signs. For stop signs, you are technically supposed to come to a complete stop, but the purpose of them is to get people to slow down, pay attention, and secede right of way if another vehicle or pedestrian is at or currently crossing the intersection.
