Had a bad wreck on a Texas Hwy with 2 lanes in each direction and railroad track running beside it. Never expected a car to be completely stopped in the left lane waiting for a train to cross the entrance it was turning left into. There was lots of ground on opposite side of highway to have made it wider with a turn lane, or prohibit left turns due to left lane being a passing lane in which I started passing a slow semi and trailer before able to see stopped small car, just catching the rear bumper against the left side of my 1981 CB 750 Custom Honda and left leg, throwing me unconsciously to the side of highway on my back after my forehead was cut from going through the windshield of the fully dressed bike. Fiberglass saddle bags may have helped some as my rear wheel was sliding around to hit the rear of car after my front wheel was fully cranked right and brakes locked on barely missing it as last I remembered before awakening in hospital. After repairing it to barely run again with slightly bent shaft for the electronic ignition system on left side and sealing the cracked cover with silicone, I was riding again, without any reservations.

3 months later and your riding then it wasn't a bad wreck..thank goodness..I was sitting at a red light and a fine example of a classy lady probably named Latasha or laquisha rear ended me throwing me and my 1200 Suzuki bandit in traffic..the bike got ran over by a FedEx truck passing by doing about 50 I got lucky and just bounced off the truck.. broke my pelvis/hip/ruptured spleen..etc..etc..got rushed to county hospital and they opened me up to stop the internal bleeding from the ruptured spleen.. when I woke up everything was still broken but they couldn't do the surgery because it was too complicated for there orthopedic surgeon so the VA sent 2 surgeons to county hospital because I couldn't be moved..after surgery I was moved to VA facility and learned to walk again a few months later.. I was riding my gsxr1000 a year later.. Latasha had no license/no insurance/no valid registration..I never got a dime.

I’m sure you will enjoy the MT01 but the gloss comes off when you: a) try to get dirt out of all the tiny crevices which can be seen but not reached. b) spend the rest of the day, which started as a simple cleaning job, going round tightening up all the loose bolts which you found during cleaning. Vibration from those huge pistons isn’t obvious but its ability to loosen nuts is amazing.

Even with Loctite red?
@KevinK-gk4wt11 ай бұрын
@@mtlnascarfan I’m not a fan of Loctite Red; dismantling (according to Loctite) requires heating the nut to 500C. The alternative of a 6 flat socket and a gun is depreciated by Loctite because it’s potentially damaging. Hylomar has been my favourite thread locker for many years. Historical It’s been an expensive system but the joy of spraying HyloClean (Acetone) onto a HyloGrip nut and later spinning it off with ease was worth every penny; these days the Internet’s made it more available - a good thing. Personally I’ve a preference for the medium hold stuff, it’s a bit gloopy. It doesn’t run away if you get distracted so no cleaning up if tea appears after application. It’s Dark Blue and numbered 2143. The high strength liquid thread lock is Dark Green and I avoid it because it’s much harder to free off (but I’ve never resorted to heat). The bike belonged to a mate who loved it, me - I thought it was a marvellous example of the application of CAD to create that show bike but my old NSU SportMax was more comfortable cruising and my Dad’s MAC a more deserving candidate for a concerted cleaning effort! It takes all sorts and I love most of them.

The Yamaha MT01 has to be the worst bike I ever tested when I was with one of the UK magazines. It is 1700cc but the bike really felt underpowered and the thing is HEAVY with suspension set up for a much lighter bike.. I had to ride the thing at the test track which also had a 2 mile long straight and it was the ONLY bike I couldn't ride flat out on that straight as it felt sketchy as hell over 110mph.. Nice video I had the Beta alp here in France - yours looks like it is in pretty good condition..... mine was terrible - I was very happy to sell it... a very rough 2 stroke engine its better to get a modern trials bike with smoother engine for starting trials . Watch for corroded water pump area which is built into the motor block, they tend to be corroded/leaky if motor has been left standing with water or even coolant in the system. I also had lots of slipping clutch even after spring replacement, new plates and correct fluid.
@Chrissurfs11 ай бұрын
I had one of those 2 stroke "wild cards" but mine was a 97. You will not ever have that kind of so much fun on another bike. Not meant to jump over cars, though it could, the fun starts going up rivers, following mountain goat trails and since the tires run on practically no air, 0.7 kg, it adapts to terrain rather than destroy it. Many of those are street legal in my area, theres a long ride kit that includes a foam seat and Ive also seen home built versions.

Shawn I love and appreciate (as a believer)how you always include your favorite Bible verses. A man who proudly walks and runs with god/love/light in his heart is a good man. Yes I know we all mess up now and then but still. Totally dig your channel, brother🙌🤩🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸🙏

I would imagine if he could he would. And he would give them away. I think you’re all missing the point though. “Spirit and truth” that’s it. It all comes down to love. Don’t be jealous of those who can. Become someone who will. His success is simple. It’s faith. Faith in himself. Faith in his family. Faith in his friends. And faith in our father. That’s it! I’m grateful for his success. He works very hard. And deserves all the glory!

I bought that same interceptor 2 years ago for 500.00 bucks. 2000k on it. Mint condition. Got it running, road it 3 miles and sumerized it and now it will sit another 30 years!! It was a barn find. Don't worry about your obsession. It's okay. He'll, I own 1 of every year or every color made of the rd350's. Why, because I can.

That VF750F is an interesting bike honestly. If it runs and rides in good condition, you'll be surprised how much of a blast they are.

Yeah it's a fun bike while it works, though it gets expensive when it decides it wants a rest. I had nothing but problems with the cam chains on mine. After the first repair failed, the shop repaired it again under warranty. I was sick of it by then and traded it (on a 1989 GSXR1100K) at another dealer, and the engine died again on them. I don't know the specifics of what causes the issue, but apparently the cam chain problems were solved when Honda moved from VF to the VFR model.

It’s not illegal to import a lot of vehicles that you can’t register from a car perspective anyway. You just have to import it for off road use only / race bike car. Like I can import a Mitsubishi Evo 3 easily that way, cause it doesn’t need to meet any regulatory requirements. Now how you get it from that to in the street is the problem, legally.
@Jodyrides11 ай бұрын
if you have a motorcycle that is not street legal here’s what you have to do at least in Pennsylvania this is what I did I bought my wife a brand new off-road only Kawasaki 125. They made the same bike in a street legal version with turn signals and brake lights and headlight and a horn that will beep with the engine ogg (it needs to operate off the battery when the key is on and the engine is off) so you go through the list of DOT requirements/department of transportation, the correct color lenses on the turn signals and brake light, which will be embossed with the letters DOT. You have to have the correct candle power type, headlight, the gauges, especially the speedometer, have to be in miles not kilometers, the tires must be street legal DOT approved tires. The exhaust may be a bit tricky. If it has an aftermarket exhaust, it Hass to have the excepted type of exhaust for that year motorcycle.. after after I jumped through all the hoops of installing turn signals, tail light, brake light, headlight, battery, so the horn would beep with the engine off, etc, I took the motorcycle to the local state police barracks by appointment. So that the police officer in charge of state inspections would complete the form I had filled out, and he could look at the motorcycle, and I had to submit for photographs of the machine, one from each angle… I had the dirtbike, converted to street bike in the back of my van that day. It was drizzling. The state trooper came out and asked for the paperwork and photographs, he looked in the back window of my van without even opening the door. He saw that my motorcycle was not a chopper, and he took the paperwork and filled out the papers and I got a title and it became street legal.. I converted that motorcycle that I bought new for my girlfriend at the time, to a street version, and I used it for about six years as a commuter on my 8 mile round-trip to and from work. I did that conversion to the machine because, my girlfriend only rode it for about two tanks of gas from new.. I have heard of guys that buy these gray market, motorcycles and cars, they have people that go to Japan, to buy the motorcycles, and Germany to buy the cars, and if the customs department intercepts them coming into the country, you lose the vehicle, and all the money you spent for it because it is confiscated. The same fate awaits, Kounterfeit, gibson and fender, and Rickenbacker, and other in the mix of expensive guitars that are counterfeited in Indonesia, or Japan, or China, and sold for just a couple, hundred dollars on the Internet, and when they are discovered by customs coming into the country, they are confiscated and you lose your guitar and your money

CBX sounds so dam cool always wish I had one. Back in the 70 me and my buddy ride only yamaha dirt/striped Enduros. Then we seen a mag article were Vince or Keith Ross can't remember, connected two Honda 750 for the drag strip. So like a bunch of copy cats we shoe horned two 750k, later bored all 8 cylinder, throwed in an Vine and Hines 811 speed kit and barrett clutches. We proceed to drive the neighborhood crazy. Than we saw the gl1000 with a supercharger, off to the big truck junkyard for a 671 blower. Needless to say it worked dam good. We didn't get a chance to race it because we were 14 years old. Cars and Chicks came and jobs ete..😂😂😂

I ride Yamaha's MT-01 since 2010, they're awesome and I never understood why they didn't sell those in the USA. My first one got totalled on a roundabout by a truck with 45k miles on it. I'm on my second one now since 2014, it has done 50k miles now and here in Europe there are bikes who have done well over a 100k miles. $7000 for it is a steal. It's a cruiser and a bruiser, depending on your mood. Keep it! You'll never get another chance.

Shawn I have seen the mighty 1985 VFR 1000R in the wild a fee times . Ridden by this guy Johnny he was a legend on the south side . He did this full lean turn almost dragging his knee . Then pulled a wicked wheelie . I fell in love with that very bike . At that time . Fun fact I got to ride with John back in 2001 . On my 99 CBR 600. He was on a YZF 1000 that was made into a naked bike. I asked him about that bike he said when he had the bike it was only for a month or so. He flipped it doing a wheelie go fig. He got messed up pretty good . And from that point on no more epic wheelies . Good job on the bikes . Very cool bikes by the way. I would love to ride that 1700cc naked bike . It looks way wicked . And the V45 is a bike from my youth . Hold on to it most of them were 700cc bikes because of the stupid tariff. Because the big babies at HD had there vag's all wet . They are out selling us and beating the snot out of our bikes in durability and performance. So old Ron SMH Regan put the end to 750 cc bikes just dumb . So enjoy the bikes dude . I would like ride with you one day . If I ever get a bike again. So God Bless your family and your self bud. 🙏
