That cat is called Polterkitty. You get some damage by standing your back toward the Polterkitty and DONT MOVE! Then, you turn around and shine the light on it.

I don't know if you played Luigi's Mansion 2 but I can recommend this game too, even though it lacks the Painting/Character Ghosts from the first and third game, well except for three certain sisters. And more people will surely buy it now that it will be out on Switch.

Boo tips: Time to tell you where to find more boos. So on the 7th floor go to the room with the purple glowing plants and there should be a vase check it and a boo will come out. On the 13 floor go to the room where you battled the swimmer ghost and check the Baskets at the back of the room. And that’s all the boos I will tell you about this comment, good luck finding more boos.

15:30 You just took too long to suck up the second golden Goop so it disappeared. Also when facing the Polterkitty Gooigi is a great help. The Polterkitty will only focus on Luigi and ignore Gooigi. So you can look at the Polterkitty with Gooigi at all times and flash it when you need to.

Tip: to find ghosts that are hidden you can use the dark light. Love this video!!

I remember a trick when you slam the ghosts into the ground. If you press the A button RIGHT before the ghost hits the ground then you should be able to get an extra slam or 2 with it

Well, it could be that the Fitness Center is actually the hardest floor because this is the only floor where I lost all of my heart points even in the same room, got a Game Over and had to be revived by the Polterpup because I kept getting hit by the boxing Hammer ghost. I tried my best not to get a Game Over but that Hammer just kept following me around relentlessly.

Tips for the cat ghost:If you have trouble with the cat 🐱 look away from it and wait for it to start attacking you and get a first strike on it and then suck it up Tip 2: use the dark light 💡 on the ground and walls to find the cats footprints there purple
