I bought the same cheap fuel pump and it lasted 3 rides under 1 hour each before it overheated and seized 😡 it was replaced by eBay as it's has a warranty.. the replacement has lasted me a month and the bike now runs like a bag of shit again so have had to bypass the pump again until OEM pump arrives.. hope yours solved your problem for you but I won't be going for cheap Chinese copies in future

Mine was still going strong when I sold the bike over a year later. But like you say best to pay the extra for peace of mind 👍

Hello mate, May I ask what made you fit a new fuel pump as you said in a previous video that the bike was running fine without it fitted. Was there a problem of some kind? Do you know if the bike would still run with a non working pump still fitted ie would fuel still get through the pump? Thanks

Hi mate. It's ok for short local rides. As the float bowls don't get sufficient fuel for hard riding on long straight roads.. 👍

@@jonyr1TT The reason I asked was because last year I opened the throttle up going through the gears but whilst in 5th and on reaching 9½k rpm, the engine bogged right down until closing the throttle. On reopening the throttle she was fine again until she hit 9½k again. I have fitted new points in the pump as the originals were burnt and pitted. The bogging down is with the new points.

@@jonyr1TT I stripped the carbs down last year as the bike had been standing for 15 years without a start and fuel still in it (silly me). I decided to get her back running, the fuel flap wouldn't even open. The carbs luckily looked like new as the fuel had evaporated but not the same for the tank, a hell of a mess inside, took weeks of cleaning and electrolysis. I did remove all the jets and cleaned them with carb cleaner. All the o-rings in the carbs got replaced as they were perished. Cost an absolute fortune as I had to get genuine Kawasaki ones due to odd sizes. This is how I came across your channel with the Rosalie February last year. I'm looking forward to seeing the CBR1000 engine fire up.
