Wow, you have so many great varieties. Love seeing what options are out there for my next purchase.

Yea! There is quite a selection these days since they can breed with similar genus, so they don’t all look the same. It used to be that most hybrids have the same look but there’s a lot more variety now 😁

You should be getting two bloomings on most Zygos in your climate (1 spring, 1 late fall), especially Adelaide Meadows. I typically get two blooms a year from mine in South Florida, depending on when our night time heat starts to back off. On occasion, the plant will produce a growth in summer that does not bloom, and it will start another around November and the near mature growth from summer blooms with the new late fall growth. It took a lot of experimenting to learn to grow them successfully since almost all of the information online is terrible and wrong (don't get them hot, don't give them too much water, plant in a loose fast draining medium, give low light).

Thanks for the tips! Yea, it gets those non-blooming summer growths, but I have yet to get those fall ones to push out since the weather doesn’t want to cool until Dec. Maybe this fall will be different and I can get another flush of blooms 😁

Great Zygo care video! You had some beautiful blooms... One of my favorite orchid genus ... Which zygo is your favorite? You have strong willpower not to pet your cat . Lol I would've grabbed mine and squeezed him like a teddy bear .🤣🤣🤣

Haha it’s too hard to pick favorite! They’re all different and smell different...maybe a tie between Adelaide Meadows and Murasaki Komachi. As for my 🐈, she likes to climb over everything so I am pretty used to her antics 🤣

Your video is so informative…. Thank you. My Zygos got brown spots all of a sudden. You said they are like freckles. Is it a fungus or just age spots? And what fungicide can I use on them to save them. Thank you for your help. Your video was very helpful…thanks again🤗.
@AttainableGreen3 жыл бұрын
Phyton 27 is a fungicide that can be used on the leaves. Usually, it will prevent further spots from developing but it will still have the ones that are already there. I consider them like age spots since the older leaves tend to get them more than new leaves.

What media do you use? Thanks
@thegreenthumbspet99633 жыл бұрын
Hello, what is your media on the zygo??thank you...
@AttainableGreen3 жыл бұрын
I use different media for all my zygos...still testing out the best one. So far, I do well with full sphagnum moss, small bark mix with perlite, and coconut husk chips and perlite. They’re not picky about media as long as it is well-draining. 😁

@@AttainableGreenhello, how high is the humidity in your growing room? I got my Zygop. Hybrid blue since 3 weeks and its flowering again now in july- my climate is mostely dry and hot, winter cool to cold( down to minus10°C. My humidity is very high, i spray my other plants, got pots with pebbles and water, humidifier and ventilation. Now i must report my nsw Zygp. because the roots start coming out fron the bottom. Do you think it is a gopd idea to split the plant in two- its a big plant and bigger pots are not big enough for it. Like your Vid👍
