Hello💐! I love my Zygos, i keep them warm they grow like crazy and flower so heavily two or three times a year- actually i got 5 flower stems on my impasto blue! I use substrate based on pine bark, coconut soil fine, pine soil fine and fine cork i mix myself with other things. They like high humidity, i have a fan in my plant room so they love it ans bloom even in hot summer ar south winsow- my plant is more than double of yours, i bought in spring and repottet while in active growth, otherwise the roots can be very senstive if pottet, so i touch them not more as i must. My other Zygo start building buds now, the scent is amazing!

Seramis makes a good alternative to other mediums&doesn't breakdown so readily,so less repotting&risk of breaking brittle roots.I've just found your channel,&it's very good, well done!

I don't have experience with seramis but I do imagine is great for orchids. The roots can have plenty of air. Thank you for watching😍

I use saramis too for other orchid types but disadvatageous because after a longer time seramis gets inriched with salts. So if some orchid types are more sensitive to other types, i would not use it for them.

Fragrance is an understatement mine smells so strong it gives me a headache when I'm around it for too long. I killed at least a dozen before someone told me how to do it. I grow in a mix of Peat, Moss, Bark and Cocohusk and it always stays wet. I feed high and it get's a lot of light. Temperature and humidity is always constant, 20/22 degrees with 80 % humidity

Hi I have a Zygopetalum that is growing and I need to repot it I live in a climate where the summers get up to 95 degrees I dont know if I can use moss and bark and a clay pot i dont want to get root rot from the media staying to wet what is your advice

Hi Kathleen, thanks for your question. My summer gets up to 95 degrees as well. Zygos love moisture around their roots, so my big one is potted in soil with perlite. I have one zygopetalum on moss only, and the roots are ok. I would add more moss than bark and water the pants when they are approaching dryness. I hope it makes sense :)
