"The lowest grossing film, that totally wasn't a money laundering scheme!" "By the way, that $30 is exclusively counting its theatrical run in the US when it was produced with the foreign dvd market in mind. Yes, never adapt a play to screen. A play is inherently superior to the movie and any attempt at impersonating live theatre with cheap cgi is... folly to be polite. I know it wasn't cheap in cost but that is the bill for copping out of actual songwriters and choreographers and instead having America's equivalent to living garbage Rebel wilson, i mean seriously her and corey Feldman should just hook up, get married and move to the garbage island in the middle of the ocean as it's new regents but apparently corey isn't returning my mail.

The guy that named it was my Great Grandfather. He started a Helth resort there. It is not a town that is there, but a resort with salt spas, pools, gyms, and housing, as well as the main dining hall. he never charged people to come and use it. he just told people how much it cost to run it and people would give as they wanted. he used the minerals from the salt flats there to make supplements and other spa products.

I can’t believe you forgot to mention the most amazing fact about this movie: it wasn’t the only thriller film released in February 2006 about Zzyzx road. Seriously. There’s a film called “Zzyzx” (no road), ALSO set on and filmed on location at the eponymous thoroughfare, ALSO about using its remote location to hide a body, released 21 days earlier. Except it actually got great critical reviews and grossed about a million dollars. What are the odds!? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zzyzx_(film)

Something sound off. Usually the people who made the movie are supposed to make money or at least try breaking even. If you make 30 dollars on a 1.2 million dollar movie it's either the worst movie on record, trying to break a world with the lowest movie income or making yourself look like a complete douchebag by making 20 to 30 buck wasting everyone's time and effort. if I'm going to make a movie at least I'd try to break even or go for the world record of making the worst movie on Earth or Lowet budget ever on a world record. If I made a movie with no intention to make almost money or record I'd look like a total douchebag

Andrew Ray, California added exit numbers all over the state in the 2000’s. While most are spaced properly, this is actually one of the better signs because many are small, only have the exit number, and are posted in the split between the highway and the ramp - too late to be useful. This exit has both. You can see an example of the uselessly late small signs between the freeway and the ramp. Worse, there are no mile markers along the highways in California so it’s still better to know the name of the exit - because that is always on a sign _before_ the ramp - than to know the exit number. Unfortunately, many satellite navigation systems got updates and have given directions with useless exit numbers since then.

I once had to get off of Zyzzyx Rd due to an accident on I 15. If you get off and south you will hit Yermo Rd. Where the train tracks go alongside. Unfortunetly the road stops at a dry streambed due to a questionable old bridge. We had to go into the dry bed in a long line of cars and behind semi-truck, which fortunetly made it up the embankment. You could watch trains there if you wanted to...

What’s interesting about this place is that it has now been converted into the Desert Studies Center, owned by Cal State Fullerton, where students from universities can go stay for classes or for research. I know this because the CSU I go to goes there every fall for our introductory geology course for majors, and I’ve been twice. They let us stay in the old rooms, we all eat in the old mess hall, and we get to explore the grounds where they have a big pond with endangered fish, some abandoned pools, and the hill where everyone goes to at night to look at the stars (among other things;)).

Fun fact about Zzyzx road, after finally going down it after driving to Vegas a couple times: It has the California State University Desert Resource Center at the end of it, built into some of the buildings that used to house the Soda Springs resort that was built out there. They preserved the "spa's" man-made ponds because they determined they're a useful stop for migratory birds that pass through the area. It's also used to study desert biology. Not so cool stuff: The soil on the lakebed is mildly caustic, so any vehicles driving off-road (which happens quite frequently with 4x4 enthusiasts) kick up dust that is harmful to the plants in the area. There are are researchers/stewards who rotate to stay on-site as stewards, and they have to deal with people showing up to what is effectively an active university satellite campus barging into dorms, bathrooms, and classrooms on ghost hunts, or because they think it's an abandoned ghost town. They even mentioned having to deal with people planning events there, like a raffle that was going down in their parking lot a couple days after we stopped. We wound up chatting with one of the because they saw us on the grounds and wanted to make sure we weren't up to anything bad. They *do* have a small exhibit with some signs around the ponds talking about about the history, the oasis, and the environmental impact it has, but it's nothing you can't find on the internet, and not worth navigating that long rough road.

bruh the road I live in is mantained less than that road. Its literally paved the whole way with only a couple of spots where it turns to dirt for less than 100 feet. Meanwhile me and like 90% of people I know out here live in overexemplified creekbeds out here. Also its not illegal or even really discouraged from going down the road the only issue is people breaking off trail and damaging the ecosystm. In fact the univerities site INVITES visitation to the location as long as you are respectful. Honestly if the students dont like people showing up, then they shouldnt of signed up to be housed in a location that is virtually folklore now out here.
