ZZ plants (zanzibar gems, zamioculcas zamiifolia, also known as zuzu plants) are quite easy to propagate. Whole branches, parts of a branch, or single leaves can be used for zz plant propagation. All 3 methods work, but (spoiler alert!) if possible I would recommend using full branches, since that method has the highest success rate.
Zanzibar gem plants are some of the easiest to care for and hardest to kill plants. They do well in low, indoor light conditions, aren't too prone to pests or diseases, and with their shiny emerald-green leaves, they look great year-round.
I hope you will try propagating zanzibar gems. Good luck, and thanks for watching!

Thank you thank you thank you! 🙏🏾 A branch of this ZZ plant was given to me and I could not for the life of me find out what the name of this plant was. I have it sitting in a bottle with water and nothings happening it’s still very beautifully green. But with the help of this plant and tree identifier app and then leading to you to show me how to properly propagate this plant. I’m grateful.

Hi, do you still have the one you propagated using the leaves? I am curious to see what it looks like now. If you have it, would you please do an update video to show us? Thank you!

The leaves survived too Shelly M. All 3 pots have sprouted new branches and are all doing fine. Maybe I can do an update on them sometime.

What is the potting media pl ans sir
@AGoodLife
@AGoodLife 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Alka Patankar, zz plants don't need special soil, but it needs to be well-draining. If your soil is too dense, or has too much clay, add some organic matter, or sand, or perlite so it will drain better.

What kind of the soil for Z Z ? Thanks
@AGoodLife
@AGoodLife 2 жыл бұрын
Hi mimi4816, zz plants prefer soils rich in organic matter. Most potting soils commonly available will do just fine. You can also add some sand or cactus soil if you happen to have some but it's not necessary. ZZ plants don't like low-drainage soil, or soil that's high in clay. (If you have soil like that that you want to use, mix it with kitchen compost, or sand and cactus soil.) Good luck!
