I recall Billy commenting that their songs start with a riff and the song is then built around it. It's all about the riff.

Hey guys...ZZ TOP is from the Houston Texas area i think because they used to perform in a club downtown...years ago..lol..everybody new they were going to play sold out concerts one day and sure enough they did.Billy is an underrated guitar player in my opinion.RIP Dusty Hill great bass player.great reaction as usual.😊

When I saw them on their Afterburner tour they had a huge King Tut mask behind the stage and when they opened the curtains the stage was covered in white tarps, then you heard a loud snorting sound as the tarps were pulled up through Tuts nose, looking like Tut just snorted a huge pile of coke off the stage and ZZ came out playing this song. Best opening ever!!! lol

ZZ Top is always worth a listen, you should hit La Grange next, big hit off their Tres Hombres album, which broke them nationwide and became a huge hit and classic album. I saw them a bunch of times in he 70s and into the beginning of this century, they always put on a great show. Blues/Rock with a Texas sheen, they really blew us away! Tremendous groove to say the least. They have a sound that is easy to love, good times vibe. Great band and RIP Dusty Hill. Enjoy. 🔥🎸🎤🎸🎶🔥

the megaphone man played bass in half japanese and i didnt ask for anything got to help make 2 actual on a label cds free except the time and playing 30 years ago i figured they were lost SORRY FOR BEING PROUD THAT WHAT MANY SAID WAS A WASTE HAS MADE IT; i really cant process it its all filed memories and strangers were talking like they were in the band i am god smacked beyond belief tell us what you did i didnt say anything but how amazed.and proud shame on me for almost getting.signed ben vaughn produced my first band's demo just getting them a taste of what surprises labors of love can bring sorrry for being shocked strangers were telling my stories music has brought me so much you cant buy shame on me for having fun

@@SightAfterDark i was trying to crelebrate music we worked hard on to get right 40 years ago. the delight of having "kids" sent out never thinking anything would come of it to have something you did for others show up on you tube etc its the most overwhelming and beautiful thing to happen and as a goof ( bands break up, people die it will never be played live again it made me so sad for years i had no idea it happened to me, it can happen to you all the Spinal Tap moment memories in real life are coming back as big juicy and perfectly ripe fruit of lifr brought me such a feeling it is wild i thought well its over we had a great ride, did lots you cant pay any price to do.. trying to tell you keep doing it writing and playing was always fun ro find out its still giving ears some tasty x snacks?? OMG best feeling as it may not be huge but to get a gift now from me as a 20 something holy WOW biggest best wtf goof of my whole life!; i hope S.A.D.does even n more and better waste of life ,mom you lose she was never supportive didnt couldnt stop i have so .u much good ( but not mucb money) its the best thing to say 'remember us ' i could never imagine

I'm not a big fan of the Eliminator/Afterburner period of ZZ Top. But those first 6 albums made in the 70's are hard to beat.This certainly doesn't suck but to me, it's just over produced. It sure made them rich as fuck. I also always thought Dusty was a much better singer than Billy and could never understand why he didn't get more mic time.
