Don´t listen to this when you drive a car. Your speeding ticket is waiting around the corner. Also, yes, they are blues rock legends. They play seemingly "simple", and yep, they have tons of nice riffs. In their genre, they are unbeatable. Love´em. Have mercy. :)

The top of the mountain as it were for ZZ Top in my opinion is Waitin for the bus / Jesus just left Chicago. Meant to be played together because a accident making the master put the first 2 songs too close together and Radio just played them as a combo like Boston Foreplay/Longtime sort of. It also gave them a bathroom break. R.I.P. Dusty

Catching the Bus/Jesus Just Left Chicago. Next 2 songs you should check out. La Grange was a famous house of ill repute in central Texas where thousands of young men went, as part of the local culture, to de-flower themselves for a reasonable price. Jimi Hendrix called Billy Gibbons (guitar) the "Future of rock and Roll:"

TUSH was their other song from this era that was huge. Tush in Texas is a euphemism for "The good life" and "High class digs".

Inevitable comment, but I'm gonna do it because I grew up in the area with this story. It's about a semi-well known brothel in Texas. The Chicken Ranch was a house of ill repute outside of La Grange TX. Open from 1905 to 1972. Got closed after Marvin "SLIME in the icemachine" Zindler did a series of reports after watching 400 someodd visitors over the course of two days. edit: Mr. Zindler was a Houston famous reporter. Don't know if he is known outside the Houston area

this whole album "tres hombres" (1973) is killer. its their best overall album. other band's best albums came out during this period like reo speedwagon's "r.e.o. t.w.o." (1972), lynyrd skynyrd's "prounounced..." (1973), alice cooper's "killer" (1971), queen's self titled first album (1973), lou reed's "rock and roll animal" (1974) and others. i appreciate you choosing to hear the studio version of "la grange" rather than some live version. the studio versions tell you what the song is supposed to sound like. thanks for the video.
