ZZR600 Ram Air Delete

Had a few people ask me how I did my Ram Air setup on my Streetfighter ZZR600. Though I didn’t take any photos or videos of the process hopefully a walkthrough of my setup will help some people out. Unfortunately most of the forum posts I used as a guide are either gone, or the photos are no longer available or behind a pay gate.
Here’s a link to the photos of my set up so far. The plugs could be a little cleaner looking but it works for me.

So it does run well at highway speeds with the vent hose run straight around to the side of the carb like in this video ?. Cheers

Dude, there's a reason for RAM AIR, it gives you a lot of extra power, it is not a turbo, but it works as a turbo light. I love it when the RAM AIR kicks in on my 1992 ZZR1100, and i would never get rid of the system. But i get it, you want different look, To each their own, you do you and i do me and all of that nonsense. :D :D :D

Mines bogging at 120 with taking fairings off 😒. Will this solve my problem. Bought a kn filter 🤪

Them tubes are for float pressure. You need them for the carbs to work properly

Why delete even with out fairing I would make a intake scoop to fit fairingless bike to keep power boost up top.

Yeah my 97 zx600e was a bitch lol i really didn't think that it would've made such a difference but FINALLY i got some of those little chrome looking carb intakes and put one on each side of the airbox intakes ( i HAD to use the kind with a closed end) i tried to use those little cheap turbine style intakes but they allowed WAY too much air in at higher speeds but since i switched to the covered cap style ( it blocks direct air from flowing in and sucks through the mesh on the sides) they have worked like a charm lol

What size main jets did you use and did you do anything else to the carbs

The thing is, adding more air only work if the system is designed to utilize the air. The system has to adjust to more air pressure to be able to burn it...

what subframe are you using for that body you have?

jessica osmund I’m using the stock subframe. I just got rid of the passenger seat and put in a coke instead.

Looks like a newer zxr faring maybe 2014 zx6r? I have an older 97 zx6e that i use 01 zx6r tail fairing and seats on and THAT one looks similar but thicker and more stockier plus shorter i think but man I'm not sure lol

On MY bike ( 97 zx600e ninja) or the zzr ( same model) not TOO much trouble HAD to cut the frame at the tail and pull it together a couple inches lol

Jo the zxe ninja is wider than zxr ( also taller AND bulkier BUT I've done rebuilt a couple of em and got em down pretty good lol

The pipe at the front are the clean air pipe they put some exhaust fumes back through the air box to clean the emissions the tube that come of the the carb manifold are to control the emission block and the two pipes that come from in between the carbs control the ram air the more positive the air in them control fuel so putting them into air box would be a negative result try removing the little tubes from the old air intakes put them in the mouth of the new air intake and reconnect them
