Well I think in my case was more of a "meta-pulling" of some sort. I have gotten every limited S-rank so far without giving that much money, and I've only fell for the thirst trap of Zhu Yuan, but I pulled for Qinyi because I haven't had luck in the standar banner since my only stunner was Anby, and I wanted a second stunner for my main or second squad for shiyu defense, and since I saw in another video that pulling with polycromes in the standar banner is a wasted, y dropped my hopes for Lycaon or Koleda for the moment and now I have Qinyi in my team. In the case of Ellen I followed the momentum of the launch event and used the launch gifts of polyhromes to pull for her, but I don't regret it, she's a super fun dps to play and I love her whole concept. With that said, I'm on the limit of doing a horny-pull for Jane, but my logic is keeping me under control since I don't like the anomly playstyle that much, beacuse I don't quite get the gist of it yet and is more easy to me to play classic dps-a-lot-of-big-crit-numbers-on-screen. Also, even if I force myself to play her, I would need to adapt my squads to her and that means dropping either ellen or Zhu Yuan, and I don't want todo that just yet.

The Rule I follow not only in ZZZ but also Genshin is the "Last Minute Pull" When a new Char comes out its allways hype. If you have the money, sure you can spend them on every 5 Star but im a very low spender so Pulling for a 5 star means most likely to miss the next two. So I wait till the the last few days. The Hype will be gone, you got all the Info and you get the Infos about the next few 5 stars. Then you go to the Pull screen and ask yourself. "In about 24 hours this Char is gone for maybe half a year. Do I like this char after the hype? WILL I REGRET IT NOT TO PULL NOW?" When you got youre answere pulling or not becomes way more easy.

This, plus it saves you from repeated disappointment whenever you pull during the banner and don't get anything good. I started the game at the beginning of Zhu Yuan banner and I really wanted her because I had no attack agent yet (aside from Billy ofc). Ended up going into soft pity twice after losing 50/50, finally got her on the last day of her banner with the last 10 pull I could afford. It ruined so many of my days and made me wish I had saved up and mass pulled at the end.

I'm technically logic pulling. Make no mistake, I love what they did to Jane, but I missed Ellen and the main and only team I have is Zhu, Qing, and Nicole. By getting Jane, Seth, and +1, I can finally build 2 teams. I specifically want a Physical team cuz most match-ups are like, Boss 1 is weak to ether but strong to physical, while boss 2 is weak to physical but strong to ice. People with a Zhu and Ellen teams will have an uphill battle. Jane helps counter this. Nekomata can do the same but I don't have her yet.

Same exact logic and situation here. I missed Ellen, and then pulled Zhu Yuan. I guess I could've held off on Qingyi, since Anby is strong enough, but I wanted Zhu Yuan's best teammate. And now I went with Jane so I can finally build another team with a strong dps. I'm done pulling for a while! Even if Caesar and Burnice end up being very strong I'm just content with my two teams now.

The two rules i always follow when pulling are, 1) do i vibe with the character (personality, design, role in the story, etc) and 2) are they fun to play. As long as both those boxes are checked, I know I wont regret pulling a character

So instead of whaling I still wait for that Miyabi to drop, keeping a larger break logging in for the events once in the while, collecting mats. As a low spender/Dolphin player of ZZZ, this being my first gacha game in a real long time (on PC first), and only spending money on the monthly and the season pass, I’ve gotten super lucky so far with my pulls. My account has been an anomaly safe haven ever since that day, and I will push the anomaly meta as best as I can. Only build pity if you're willing to accept the banner's S rank. I could go either way between Qingli and Jane so I built pity on Qingli's banner, now I'm only 20 from an S rank so I'll save it for Jane. Even if I lose the 50/50 I'll be fine with it

@@A._Meroy it basically improves your odds of still getting the character in case you miss the 50/50. Instead of needing 180 pulls you only need 110. Building pity is basically just stopping before you get the 5 star of one banner in favor of getting the 5 star of another. You get the added benefit of grabbing 4 stars you may want

I always ask this one question if the character isn't a DPS unit: do they work with my Billy? That's pretty much why i pulled Qingyi. She works well with any DPS. Probably gonna pull Jane's banner a few times to get Seth early, but I'm not particularly interested in Jane herself. My main priority will always be making sure they synergize with Billy first and foremost.

Honestly this helped me to decide myself. As a new player i was trying to go for all three (Jane, Caeser and Burnice), praying that luck would be on my side with the 50/50s Here is the thing, i want Caeser thats non-negotiable, but i've been going back and forth with Jane. First i was in, then i was out (when i found out about Caeser), then i was able to play her chapter wich got me in again. But i finally realized that for me she is not a priority or has a place right now. I've been making do with a Cunning Hares team since i got Nekomata, so thats where most of my resources have been going. So realistically i can only invest in one other team and i already have Pipper and Lucy half way there. I can work with that, Caeser and eventually Burnice. Meanwhile taking Jane will make my resources invested on either Pipper or Nekomata be redundant. The other thing is that pulling on Janes W-engine is out of the question right now, as new account i simply do not have the time to muster those resources. But if i cut my loses with Jane and go all in on Sons of Calydor i could get the W-engine for Caeser and maybe even Burnice. At the end i just pulled until my Anby was M6 because thats what will give me the biggest benefit right now.

I really wanted Jane anyways for my Grace Disorder Team. Despite what everyone is saying, I'm still getting her because it's how I want to play. Okay granted I heard word that Burnice seems like a better option because she can apply burn out of field, but seriously I just find her gameplay so fun and flashy! Nah fam, horny pulling is the way to have fun in these games. The meta is forever changing in favor of the newest shiny toy, which are always coming back with reruns; let’s not forget HSR v2.5 has four 5-star choices in the first half. FOUR. The worst thing you can do is follow guides and “must pull” recs when you don’t enjoy a character’s visuals or play style. Even more so if you end up buying some of the currency with real money. Silver Wolf always knew best: “Don’t think, just pull.”

IT'S A TRAP !! I get you, but I don't believe 'horny pulling' is a sustainable way of pulling for longevity in a gacha game from experience. That urge is fleeting and doesn't provide long-term engagement with a character, true identification and love is necessary. I agree that those endless MUST PULL / NEW META? / SHE'S OP/BROKEN guides should be avoided, we don't do that stuff here.

@@darkjelly944 I would class that as whaling as there just isn't any other way to obtain every character throughout each update. If you are whaling based on a compulsion to fulfil that in a Gacha game, and you cannot afford it, it's best to step away from Gacha's all together as that sounds very dangerous to me. If you are not sinking in hundreds and just emptying your pulls at each update, you need to evaluate how MUCH you've anticipated that agent before it releases, wait at least one week whilst their banner is up, and then decide whether you should pull as the hype to collect it would of burnt out by then. If you can afford it though, and money is no object, then sure.

Currently have 199 pulls saved up with guarantee after failing the 50/50 on the pull directly after i got ellen I plan on pulling for Jane but not her w-engine near the end of 1.1 in case we get any teasers early for the 1.3 characters as I really want Miyabi. Jane would complete my second team of it being grace, jane, and rina or seth depending on whether rina or seth is best in that team I am hoping that rina is better since it would save me from having to build up another character. my current second team is anton, grace, and rina some i'm going to be glad to replace anton with jane to turn it into a disorder team as I don't really like anton's playstyle

I have a question because I’m new. Are characters in limited banners gone forever if you don’t pull them during the specific time they’re available? Or do they come back?

This is just going by the data we know from other hoyoverse games since this one is barely entering it's third month, but usually banners come back months or years down the line and you can expect to see them back later on but that's going to be a long time before it happens. If at all. But it's usually a good chance that they come back like next year or so.

Not all characters are appealing to everyone. I don't care for Yanagi's design, for example, so I'm not pulling for her, no matter how busted she turns out to be. On the other hand, a lot of people, me included, want Miyabi, but I've seen more than a few say they are not pulling for her because they don't see the appeal.

What's your opinion on this game if you're a f2p player? Imo, they are very stingy when it comes to rewards for pulling, after you clear all the story and rank up, i think you can only get 1 encrypted tape per week and a few more in the exchange shops. Isn't that very little? Or that's normal for mihoyo games? Not to mention the polychromes you save give you barely enough to spend for a char if you save for a loooong time, and that's without getting any dupes... no weapon either. Idk, i also play Solo Leveling: arise, and that game they give you tons of rewards almost daily and seems like the devs actually like their players.

Hey Ossaor! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I'll be honest, what you're experiencing is pretty typical for most gacha games. At the beginning, it feels like you're getting a good number of pulls, but after about a month, the need for things like the Battle Pass and monthly pass starts to become more apparent-even if you're playing as a free-to-play (F2P) player. Some might see this as "stingy," but consider it this way: if they were more generous, everyone would quickly max out their limited characters' mindscapes (C6) and breeze through all the content in the game. They've always find a very good balance with how much they give, to how much the player has to invest in return. Personally, I think Zenless Zone Zero strikes the best balance among their games, for real! It is very similar to the others though in terms of how much they send out for free. But I totally get why some players might feel like the rewards could be more generous. I haven't tried Solo Leveling but have tried plenty of others and for me, Zenless Zone Zero surpasses all of them in terms of quality, longevity, and easy dailies for me at the moment.

I understand your points but honestly i don't share the same feeling, i guess the Solo leveling game has spoiled me too much. I will keep playing ZZZ because i love the gameplay and aesthetic, i understand that to make all these amazing animations, level design, music, etc, they must have poured millions of dollars and they need to make it back, but i think the rewards given to the players are not enough for them to feel grateful. You mention that if they were to give more rewards and players can obtain dupes of the chars, it'll be easier to clear all content, I say: then make higher difficulty content. They don't even need to make new enemies, just the same bosses, with twice as much HP and maybe tweak a bit their attack behaviour. Sorry for the rambling but i really feel like 1 multi-pull each month on the permanent banner is very low free rewards. You get more pulls for bangboo than for characters, that's kinda comical. Also i love your videos and how informative they are, thank you for your work, have a good day ^^
