The key thing to understand about Hoyo's gachas is, 10x pulls are an illusion. All pulls are single pulls--the 10x button presses 1x ten times automatically and shows you the results all at once. There's no extra bonus for the 10x or any way to cheat the system, but they're hoping you'll assume there is and end up spending more money.

What illusion is there? You pull ten times and are guaranteed an A rank every tenth pull, you can either pull the single ten times to get a guaranteed A rank or you can pull the ten times once and get a guaranteed A rank. It is there purely for the sake of convenience. Like imagine having to hot pull 90 times in a row to get a guaranteed S rank compared to only needing to pull 9 times with the ten times banner.

Honestly, I just ignore soft pity. I mean is nice to know there's a small boost but at the end of the day we have no control over it even if we knew the exact numbers, since, you know, it's still probability. If I get the character earlier then good, if not, there's always hard pity which actually is a solid number and that's what players should be aiming for. Also, what a nice surprise to hear a Breath of Fire 3 song at the end of the video. Nice little trait for my ears.

From what I have heard of the person you are referring to, I vaguely remember them saying something along the line of them once being a gacha addict (maybe that was someone else but I'm not sure). Because of this, it's very likely that this dude may genuinely believe some if not all of the misinformation they say. My recollection of what I saw of the videos of theirs was an attitude of "if I see it I must say it" kinda vibe. All this to say, it's hard to ultimately trust the source as reliable.

This video answered a lot of questions for me. I won’t lie I have been contemplating for quite a while whether I should use and trust Lootbar if need be in the near future, because of how much I see it being promoted by other KZbinrs. Of course it would be nice to get the same amount of in game currency but for cheaper especially for how high the prices are for the limited amount the game gives. My reasonings being as well that a recent weapon banner in Genshin literally took up everything I had to my name that I earned being f2p and my god was that painful. 😭😂 I’ve been wanting Yelan and her weapon for months now ever since I started playing the game and well now I’ve reached a point in the game where the primo gain is very slow and time is ticking, the days are going by. By now you would see where the contemplation would come in for Lootbar.

Super happy this helped you. Sounds like this came JUST at the right time. I've heard great things, but also horrible things about Lootbar. I think it GREATLY depends on what game you are using these Third-party currency sellers FOR. I would never, ever use a Third-party to buy premium currency for a Gacha game, unless it's clear that they are affiliated and authorized by HoYoVerse or Kuro Games for example. To my memory, I think Kuro Games is affiliated with one, but I can't recall which. Totally feel you about that luck you had on the weapon banner.. that's enough to dry up your long earned primos in a flash. You know, a lot of these Third-party sellers use VPN's to get the better prices. And I'm defo not hinting you to try it, as depending on the weight of the savings you achieve, it is also RISKY business. But I've seen a lot of people ask about it and many respond positively. This is probably why these Third-party sellers are so successful. It's important to remember that they cannot do anything if their methods get detected and your account suffers the consequences for it. At best, they'd refund you, but they won't help you beyond that with your account (which I'm sure you already know). Good luck to you friend!

Funnily enough to my knowledge sites like Lootbar are just a semi-legal middleman between you and Codashop since a lot of countries do not have access to the asian gacha part of that site. Let me be clear: what you said is true especially because a lot of these sites require you to have someone top up for you instead of it being a direct charge up (please never do this). Sites like lootbar only require UID (so nothing you can do to decline these top ups) which get constantly used to annoy streamers with 1 dollar top ups on stream which is another issue I don't see much talk about.

Yeah my original reply that was deleted to that person was to not use third party sites to buy monochrome because there was a potential risk of chargeback, and if they really wanted to get a discount that they could use a vpn and buy it directly through the client, but even then there is always a risk of getting ban.

I knew he had a history of spreading misinformation and your example of his pulling advice perfectly illustrated why I thought so. Especially from a person that studied statistics in the past and likes to understand how the gacha’s system works before I play one. I followed him during the launch of hsr and he was giving the same advice as well then too. I didn’t paid too closely to his content so I never knew that he was actively deleting comments that were calling him out, it just seems very shady.

I personally never do single pulls because there have been multiple instances where I get more than one 5 star/S-rank within them. Same goes for weapons. If I'm lucky, then I'm lucky. If I got crap luck, then that's that. I ain't about to spend 100s of dollars when I got a college debt to worry about.

I mean realistically the chances that it will ever matter is super miniscule. So yeah just do whichever you like. Been playing these games for ages, Hoyo since Genshin, and never once seen a 5 star / S rank before 20 or 30 pulls. I'm totally sure it's possible! So if someone pulled double s ranks they could argue that they "wasted" that luck on a dupe instead of a new character later. But that's almost certainly not how it works. So really it's all probably just "it doesn't matter".

The simple rule for all Hoyo Gatchas: You need 180 pulls to get character you want. Most of the time, you'll get them before 180, but if you don't have 180, you are risking not having enough to get them once you start pulling.

There is also an info in banner description that rates cap at 1.6%, so the max rate increase is 1%. This still doesn't explain how do rates increase, either by 1/74% each pull, progressively scaling(from 1/100% to 1/48% for example), or the least logical way is to increase the rates when you reach a certain amount of pulls, maybe like 0,25% rate increase at 59, 0.5% at 44 or just other numbers. We don't know yet and may never do, but does it really matter? Just pull and hope you get 5 star you need, don't pull if you don't need current banner 5 star, as simple as that

We can reverse engineer the rates with pretty high confidence based on the community submitted data to some of the pull tracking websites, from what one of the teams running one of those sites have said in the past, as well as my own simulations, it appears to be flat 0.6% until soft pity, and then 6% extra chance per pull until hard pity (i.e. 6.6% at 74, 12.6% at 75 etc), the confidence at the 85+ pull range is not high as the sample size of collected data is just too low unfortunately, but the chance of getting there is already so low that it barely changes the outcome. The character pull rates seem to be the same between Genshin/HSR/ZZZ Interestingly the weapon rates are slightly different, Genshin appears to be soft pity starting from 63 pulls and the 0.7% rate increases by 7% per pull, but the ZZZ w-engine soft pity appears to start at 65 and the 1% base rate increases by 6% per pull, I'm not sure about the HSR lightcone banner I haven't looked into that. The Bangboo banner appears to have the same rates as the w-engine banner also, just without the 75/25. Running simulations with high pull counts per attempt with the above numbers come very close to the (including guarantee) rate of 1.6% / 2% etc they state, though with lower pull counts per attempt the numbers end up slightly lower due to attempts being mid pity that has a bigger proportional influence on the rates as compared to e.g. 10k pulls per attempt. Obviously this is unconfirmed as it's not sourced directly from hoyo themselves, but the number of pulls tracked on the pull tracker websites is high enough that we can be reasonably certain the above information is accurate

There is a simple way to get an approximate value of the chance at each pity count, they already did it for Genshin, recover data from many pulls from many players and get the model from them. Thanks to the law of large numbers we know that the more data we have the more precise will be the estimate value, so in some time they'll publish some study about all the rates, the more data the better.

Hmm Interesting. I've personally always done multis whenever I've been nearing hard pity, simply because for most units, it's a win-win scenario. Even tho the rates after you get the S rank drop back down to at least 0.600, there's still that tiny chance you could end up with 2 S ranks in one multi. The main motivation for me here is that 90% of units I pull for, I really like, meaning that if I got a dupe of the same limited S rank, I'd be more than happy. If the 2nd S rank in the multi ended up being a 50/50 loss? Still cool, since I'd be certain to have a guarantee for next banner.

.y general advice has always been based on my 4 years of Genshin, my time in HSR, and now my time in WuWa (WuWa has different rates and a different hard pity, but my account seems to hit around the same thresholds as Hoyo games). I warn people that from 65-80 That is when you are most likely to see your 5 star. I personally recommend 10 pull up to at least 70, and then single pull until you hit. The reason for this is because doubles do happen, and I do not personally WANT to hit a late double. The reason being is that if I have put 70 pulls in, I am not pulling the weapon, and I don't want to go for constellations on that run, I would like to grab the character if I win 50/50 and then fuck off. If you 10 pull around soft pity, there is a chance that you double purely because there is a chance of hitting a 5 star at any point from 0-90, and I have hit a banner 5 star single pulling, and then hit the next banner 5 star with my first pull...if I had just thrown a 10 pull, I would have hit, and then missed out on an early 5 star for the next character. Hitting early can be huge, my ZZZ account hit Ellen in the first 10, and that allowed me to go for her weapon which hit within the first 40. That put me well under budget, which set me up for pursuing Zhu Yuan and eventually Jane Doe. If you like gambling, then gamba away, but if you put a little thought into your pulls, it's really not that rough. Good luck everyone.

The best outcome will occur If you have Qingyi as your dynamic wallpaper, it gives you better odds These may or may not be related, and realistically are highly unlikely to ACTUALLY affect your odds, but who knows, maybe there's a bug hehe

I actually do Single Pulls as soon as I get to hard Pity, because I don't want double Five-Stars. I'd rather stop pulling after the Five-Star, to save the rest of my pulls for the next banner. Because every additional pull on the current banner is a waste for me personally, since I don't pull to build up pity. Because in the end, every single pull has a chance to get you the S-Rank. I have seen though, on the Hoyoverse App, that people keep building pity on one banner, just to be surprised that they get the A-Rank again, which resets the guarantee xD people just dont want to learn.

I commented this kn another video lately, but most people don't know how the A-rank banner agents work like. Imagine you get an A-rank item that is not the banner top up. For example in the Qingyi banner you get Anton, then your next A-rank banner is confirmed to be the ones that come with the banner, in this case it would be either Billy or Corin. And the same applies wirh the S-rank. If you get an off-banner S-rank character, or a standard banner character, the next one is confirmed to be on-banner. Aka, the character tou like wanted to pull (Qingyi, in this case).

Relevant thing here, your guaranteed A rank (both the 10 pity and the guarantee after not getting rateup) can be hijacked by an S rank, rate up or not. Happened to me yesterday trying to get Corin copies and I hit a Lycaon on one of my A rank pities. What I'm saying is that, should this happen your A rank pity will reset despite not getting one.

Idk if this is what he meant in the video, but to make things clear, the gender of the singer in the S Rank pull does NOT determine whether or not you get the featured character or lose the 50/50. It's all random. At least this is how it's been with my personal experience from pulling on the game, but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Also thank you for the informative video!

You mentioned that you've seen dozens of people get banned for using them but I've been unable to find a single post online about something like that. Hoyo doesn't have the exact rates either. Because of how random numbers work, if you tell a computer to do something 5% of the time, you can't trust that the computer is doing it exactly 5%. The only way is to look at the outputs numerous times and calculate from there. It might end up that it actually became 5.001% instead.

There are ways you can get around that. For instance you could have a list of outcomes that has the same distribution as your odds, then shuffle that list and deal them out to players as pulls are requested, that would ensure the actual output matches the distribution you want. Alternately, you could use a real world source of randomness (such as radioactive decay) as the source for your numbers and just do math on the input to (again) get the distributions you want. Of course, it's impossible to know if Hoyo uses any of those options or just something that's "good enough", but if nothing else it should be good food for thought.

For recommended 3rd party shops. Try and find the ones that ACTUALLY has the same price as the in game shops. You can't get stuff for cheaper cuz Hoyo also counts for taxes from the country you're in. Hoyo NEVER give you a discount and just use some common sense why would a 3rd party cost less than the original in game price? It's not like the 3rd party would pay you for your transactions cuz that's just dumb.

I used to watch him for dota underlords and while preparing for Qingy I saw his preparation guide, as he was a familiar face I used to trust back then. I just have just 1 more question about the standard banner. And that is, a "guarantee for different type of S rank". I got myself Grace from first 50 pulls, then the next S rank was Rina, and my currently last 3rd S rank is Lycaon's engine. And, I kinda also ask others: have the same happened to you, where you get 2 S agents and then an engine? I feel like the same thing was also happening to me in genshin and hsr. And, on a different note: have the opposite been happening, where you get 2 S rank engines and only after them a character? It always at least seemed like it, but I won't be swearing by that. Sorry for my late reply Hatkid! I think I get you, you got two S-rank characters followed by an S-rank engine, and you’re wondering if others have experienced something similar. From what I've learned in gacha games is that sometimes it can feel like they have patterns, but that's most likely just the RNG (Random Number Generation) and these sequences that are mild are often found to be a coincidence, BUT... funny enough, I had a vocal convo with someone on discord about this not so long ago, and we couldn't say for sure for ZZZ if there is an increase on pulling an S-rank W-engine after pulling an S-rank character, simply because we don't know enough people who have seen/confirmed this pattern. The chances of getting any particular item are typically independent of what you've previously pulled in ZZZ is what I think, aside from the 50/50 on the limited banners. But it's still not impossible, you might be onto something! As for getting two S-rank engines before a character, that's possible too, but I really think in ZZZ that's just RNG doing its thing (for now at least). We might know more about this later, as these conversations and data are still currently mildly shared. People love to showcase there multi pulls, but not how they get there sadly. And yeah, I totally get what you mean about that "giraffe guy". In the end, people just have different luck, and it feels like they’re on a different wavelength altogether ! Right now, I got 2 S-rank on the stable channel ( 1 within the 50 pulls guarantee, and one after 30 pulls afterwards ). Currently have around 60 Master Tapes, saving for 80 where I'm in the Soft Pity to guarantee myself an S. If I get an S-Rank W-Engine, I promise to report back here and let you know. And if I remember, I'll report whatever I get here as well
