Thank you so much for uploading this video to KZbin the first Zzzap! Christmas episode of 1996 was shown on Friday 29th November and it was shown in four episodes until Friday 20th December which was the last CITV afternoon until 1997. It is nice to see a CITV promotional trail for all the brand-new programmes coming up that winter and what a great line-up they had in store for January 1997.

I absolutely love the Christmas episodes of Zzzap! they are awesome and great fun to watch I love watching a lot of Christmas programmes and shows.

Anyone else watching this Christmas 2023? Watching old 90’s kids TV shows really helps get me into a Christmas-y mood! I also have raging toothache rn, and watching old shows from my childhood when you’re not well is strangely very comforting ❤

This Zzzap! episode was originally shown on Friday 20th December 1996 which was the final CITV afternoon until 1997. I love these old Christmas programmes they are absolutely brilliant and it is nice to see a pre-school promotion for the brand-new winter programmes coming to CITV in January 1997.

1997 Christmas Annual The Zzzap characters hold a Christmas party, plus they look back at some old sketches including The Handymen making a hand garland (Series 2, 1994) and Daisy Dare challenging kids to walk across a path of swimming pool floats (Series 2, 1994). Unlike the previous Christmas Annuals, this was especially filmed for 1997. This was the last time all four characters. This was also the last Zzzap special ever produced. The set for the previous Christmas Annuals is gone, so the special is filmed in Cuthbert's house. This is the first and only time a Christmas Annual comic appears - this is the Summer Special comic with Christmas illustrations drawn over the top. For the first and only time in Zzzap history, the Handymen talk and sound like Beaker from the Muppets. Surprisingly, they are not voiced by Buchanan but presumably Sarah Pickthall herself. 1996 Christmas Annuals Annual 1: In the first episode, the Zzzap characters look back at some old sketches. Annual 2: In the second episode, the Zzzap gang look at more old sketches. Annual 3: In the third episode, the Zzzap characters look at even more old sketches. Annual 4: In the fourth episode, it's Christmas Day in the Zzzap house, and the gang open and exchange their presents, as well as looking back at some more old sketches. The Christmas Specials are the first time (except for the Zzzap comic in-between sketches) that all four characters are together. The Christmas Specials were repeated in 1997. There were plans (as advertised) to show the Christmas Specials in 1998, but this was scrapped last minute for unknown reasons.

The Zzzap! Christmas Special episodes was shown for four episodes on CITV in 1996 so the first episode was broadcast on Friday 29th November which followed by three episodes throughout December which were broadcast on the 6th 13th and 20th then the new series kicked off CITV in January 1997 which was the start of the winter season of programmes.

I think their look like the Batman Villains & Cuthbert Lilly wears the same pink outfit like The Joker I think?
