If you're talking about the RTC replacement, there's plenty of them around. Necroware's nwX287 or Glitch Works GW-1287 are probably the most well known and available, and of course I have my SB1287 variant available in my store ;)

Cant you notice the light patches emiting from the bottom? Its not a permanent fix, you need to get the backlight patches fixed too
@silvestronsbitsandbytes29 күн бұрын
I can indeed, but it's a lot more visible on camera than it actually is in person, and for a cheap repair I'm not that fussed. Before you couldn't open the screen more than a few cm before the backlight switched off entirely, so this is very much a cost effective win in my books :)

Great job! But I'm surprised that you insert ali-chips without testing them first. For me it's always the assumption that not only they are fake, but also not working. So I always follow the rule "check first, insert later". Saves a lot of time. I'm planning to build a self-designed 5160 replica, together with a replica of CGA videocard and replica of adlib, and I can already see that fake chips are going to be a problem.

Pricing for sale is really heavily dependent on your region. I'd recommend checking out similar listings on eBay and filter by sold so you can see what people are willing to pay, then go from there. Good luck!

Hi mate. Where did you find the transistors?
@silvestronsbitsandbytesАй бұрын
I sourced it from a local electronics store, Jaycar, but it's a pretty standard part that you should be able to get from any good parts store. Digikey or Mouser would have them!

From memory all the tants on the main board are 10uF 16V, but it's best to confirm with the markings on the part you're replacing directly (if legible)

Interesting. Since you had to run a wire to the A17 pin of the EPROM, is it possible to only fold it outside to make the whole process reversible?

Yes absolutely! Really would just need to cut the wire and bridge the gap that I cut with some solder to be reversible

This crappy juice hiddens under the heatsinks... My toughest recapping job until now is for a PCEngine LT, I learned a lot about soldering skills on it ^^
