I'm sure it will help in many ways. You will find that in some situations it is the best thing to use, but in others it may be slower than traditional methods. You will have fun figuring out where to use it and where to skip using it. I recommend you break down and get distilled water for use in it though because it will save you problems down the road. If you run into questions/problems you can ask me, or call their customer service which is usually helpful. I think you are going to like using your new Dupray!

Jay is still cleaning but I retired a couple of years ago now. Once in a while I go to a job to video but rarely. I have Stage 5 Kidney Failure and lack the energy to still do that stuff much. Carpet cleaning videos, like so many other genres just don't pull the views they used to so that worked out to be perfect timing. We know a guy from Wichita KS who had a huge channel doing lawn care and made tons on YT but he never makes videos anymore because they don't pay like they used to for general content. The game has changed and the world has moved on and carpet cleaning videos are just not as important as they used to be. Kinda sad but that's how it it!

You are SO right! We have refined our technique since the video and now "heat surf" by removing the Moka from the burner once flow picks up and replacing it there once flow recedes balancing between the two. That allows us to use a high heat but we are working out a moderate-heat method too that is less focused. Then there is fixing on the best grind for the way we like our coffee. I would go with a Dupray Neat or Neat+ ($100 to $150). Both perform the same and have attachments for cleaning floors and tips for deeper grout lines too and can clean a lot more than just floors. The "Plus" model is $50 more but heats up faster and can be refilled while in use but otherwise is the same as the regular Neat. I have many videos showing these two models in use and I have been very impressed with them over the years...I own four Neat's! I have two standard models and two of the PLUS models and they all work reliably and are still like new, and I started with them in 2018 so they appear to hold up well too. We used their Carpet Extractor Shampoo before and it was fine. It has a good smell and a carpet protector in the one we used so that could be a selling point too. It isn't mind-blowing but it is safe to use and works well enough and is affordable. You can boost it with peroxide if needed. The High-Traffic stain remover is high pH and can leave a residue but you can go back with vinegar and water to bring the pH down before leaving. Zeps offerings for carpet cleaning are worth trying for sure and they are easy to get ahold of so that also is a plus!

Ours would run around 7 full minutes on average and then it would be time to stop and empty/refill. These do put down more water than say the Bissell BG models but they can clean faster too. You should try to speed up a little and see if the carpets are less damp and be sure to adjust your handle height/angle so you are pressing the front vacuum port down into the carpet for maximum pickup. If your handle is set too high/forward you will get only partial suction and that can cause damp carpets too so double check your adjustments. Good luck to you!

I’ve seen and heard about you fellas for a while glad I finally found your page. What’s a good ratio to mix ammonia when making a cleaning agent?
@JoeWheeler2 ай бұрын
Make a DILUTED container of ammonia from 25%-50% ammonia/50%-75% water and use it as a spotter as needed. We don't mix ammonia with our prespray which already has a solvent and is peroxide based so keep them separated. On rare occasions we use 20 Volume Peroxide or stronger and spray a stain with it AND a spray of ammonia to produce a stronger reaction when they combine...but keep them in separate spray bottles. Ammonia works as well diluted as full strength so mix it and try it till you find the right strength for your purposes and peroxide works best undiluted but be careful with high percentage formulas (over 40 Volume) as they can burn. Ask another channel or source the SAME question and you will get a completely different answer so you have to try this stuff and see what works for you because opinions vary widely.

Ok the bonnet glider that is featured in this video i can't seem to find. Do you have a link?
@JoeWheeler2 ай бұрын
I don't have a source for them right now but you can easily make one. Just use a gallon paint can lid (plastic) trim the edges off so it's flat and apply FIVE-POUND Velcro strips (not the stronger Velcro because it doesn't let go of the bonnet when you need it to). Use some Gorilla Glue or Super Glue along with the adhesive backed-Velcro to keep the strips from coming off when they get damp. You can also use old CD's or anything flat and round that is light weight and plastic, and try various diameters to see what works best for you. They are easy to make and cost pennies so skip the ones for sell even if you find them and learn to make your own. Good luck!

I thought you guys said that you're no longer doing low moisture extraction?
@JoeWheeler3 ай бұрын
He only did this because we did extract this carpet a few days earlier. I won't be a part of "bonnet cleaning" if there is no extraction as well. The ONLY carpet I would "bonnet clean" and leave it at that is commercial and Berber styles where the dirt doesn't really have much of a place to hide, and then vacuuming would have to be a part. Unseen on camera is that we brothers battled for years about this bonnet cleaning without vacuuming or extraction and I gave in for the sake of peace but never liked it. Now that I've retired and am basically out except for occasionally filming the jobs my brother has decided to do it my way. That's how brothers work I guess. Everything is a battle but eventually we may end up on the same page. For the record, I never liked cleaning with the Oreck by itself but Jay wanted faster all the time, and he insisted so that's how we did it. Now he wants to slow down and focus on results and charge more money. I applaud that idea! Thanks for watching and noticing the possible hypocrisy here and saying something. Work in progress!

Back on those early days carpet was all juke back carpet or double juke back install a lot of juke carpet a lot of wool carpet. You don’t find that much wool carpet anymore. Oh, you can find it but it’s just not as common keep up the good videos. I just couldn’t help but to mention that the techniques you’re using their techniques has been used for over 70 years, lol. LOL. You guys are great. I’m the one thing I’d like to request from you guys. Just keep up the good work and the good videos. I wish you guys the very best. God be with you and engage you both.
@timkirkpatrick17493 ай бұрын
I do like your videos and I like watching you guys and listen to you go back-and-forth sometime the time. But the comment that was made that you invented a lot of the stuff for carpet cleaning lol, no. I grew up on the flooring, industry and clean more carpet and most people walk on. I’ve done carpet insulation carpet repair and tons of carpet cleaning I have done shampooing I have done shampooing with extraction I’ve done shampooing extraction and with Monnett, I have done bonnet cleaning I have done cleaning with the fiber pad. And as far as Bonnet Cleaning not Cleaning as good as an extraction, you’re pretty much correct but she can get darn close if you use a CRB (counter rotating brush) and then vacuum the snot out of it and all four directions you vacuum and then when you put down your solution, whatever chemical you’re gonna use for the cleaning that day and run the CRB over again before you run your, you will be surprised of how clean you actually get the carpet . I can go on and on most of the time is just calling it something different but it’s the same thing that I’ve done back in the 70s. We did live steam cleaning, not hot water extraction live steam and today they’re saying it’s something new. I have not seen you guys do something or invent something that hasn’t been done already. Machines change colors of machines change pad size change, fragrances change, soaps/detergents have different odors, and they do a few different things in them, but they’re still a detergent of some type or a soap or some type to break loose the bond of the dirt from the material. And then again it depends on what kind of material that you’re on. Aylon polyester, dextran, cotton wool and the same steps for those still standing in place make sure you’re not using a high pH detergent or soap on a cotton wool carpet. You’ll remove the color you’ll call it to shift colors can even show the swirl of the machine that will never come out. Yep, I’ve been in it for a long time and I haven’t seen anything worldwide or changed you guys invented. And not to say anything bad about you guys. I really like you guys and I would probably do a lot of things different. But just because I do them different doesn’t make mine more right than yours. It’s just the way that we would’ve approached it. You guys have a great day. Keep up the good work, watch what you say. God bless you guys.
@JoeWheeler3 ай бұрын
You make a lot of excellent points and are correct. We were born in 1964 and people were doing this well before that. Running the camera and hearing some of the things my brother says really bothers me sometimes but he likes to stir things up and mess with the critics by over-exaggerating and making huge claims that obviously aren't true. We are just a couple of guys in a small town who work with affordable equipment and basic methods that somehow were seen all over the world. But were seen as a threat to the "industry" because we showed how simple and inexpensive this can actually be done. This should have been something simple that only a small niche of people would find useful but the "industry" feared we could bring the whole thing down and people would stop buying expensive equipment and chemicals. This is because there is so much hype and so many products that really don't do what they are claimed to, and all for very high prices for what they offer. Were the "industry" an actual solid profession, it would be safe from people showing that most of it can be done without spending the money they would like everyone to believe you have to spend. So my brother is very defensive, and actually goes out of his way to lash out at the hype and outright lies that people use to sell overpriced junk to gullible people who just want to make an honest living. They should have all just ignored us and nobody would have noticed us or followed our advice, but their shaky businesses are built on lies and tricks and so they were terrified that we would expose them with too much of the truth. In the end though the general public didn't care about any of this anyway. People buy expensive stuff because they want to have it and it doesn't mater if it works that great or not. Or people can't afford that expensive stuff and buy the things we show (and maybe upgrade later if they like doing this). Don't take what anyone (my brother included) too seriously because like you said, there's nothing new or special here it's all been done before and there are many ways to do it. The correct way is up to the individual to test and find out for themselves and other people may freely do it another way as they choose! Thanks for bringing some truth to a ridiculous subject!
@shellic51663 ай бұрын
So if you don't need a ton of cleaning time. Just regular household stuff, then the plus wouldn't be worth the extra $70? Would that be correct? I was thinking if the plus comes with extra cleaning attachments or more power/heat....something. something to make it worth the extra $70. Great videos, thank you!
@JoeWheeler3 ай бұрын
Correct, $70 adds basically unlimited run time and fast initial start up. We found that the NEAT+ runs continuously "in the green" (the light on front that indicates full temp and pressure) where the regular NEAT cycles more (the light goes amber and the pressure may lower until the green light comes back on) so the "+" may have a more powerful burner but we can't say for sure. They still sell the regular NEAT for good reason, because it works great and is reliable. You can always upgrade to the "+" in the future if you decided you want the extra features and we like having spare machines in case one breaks so that is an option for later if you like using these. Our "use-case" scenario isn't typical so if you are just using one around the house for less than an hour at a time, the regular NEAT does everything the "+" does for less and uses the same tools so you can save some money choosing it.

Would a light prespray before brushing help with the dust?
@JoeWheeler3 ай бұрын
Not for this because you want the dust out of the carpet and allow some time for it to fall back down and be sitting there ready for a vacuum to pick it up. Prespray or any moisture will help the dust to stick and not be loosened or vacuumed. Wear a dust mask if you need one and be sure and let the dust have a chance to settle some before vacuuming.
