Hi boys, hope you are keeping well. I am at a cross roads, and want your honest opinion. I have a dilemma, Oreck or bissell big green I have watched all, and I mean all videos on vlm, yourselves, Cory-muscle TV, bm carpet cleaning, Paulie C - Washington etc. All good experts in the field of vlm. I can only afford one or the other to start my business. I know you and your brother have of recent gone back to extraction after many, many years of SETT/VLM. I feel comfortable with either, with vlm obviously more in the need of more pads etc to purchase. Both come out at around same price £700.00 for Bissell, £700.00 for Orbtek & pads. 908 US DOLLARS. Ain't cheap here, but not many businesses you can start for under $1000.00,

First, my brother has a FB group you should join with lots of information that can help you decide this... Carpet Cleaning, Rotary Or Orbital. FB Group facebook.com/groups/292914753694857/ But my opinion, we started our channel out with extractors and are now back to extractors and I feel they do clean carpet better than orbital/rotary machines and methods. Exceptions are commercial carpet and closed-loop (Berber) style carpets where a bonnet/pad can reach the base of the carpet pretty easily...but on cut-pie residential style carpets extraction is superior. Also, extraction REQUIRES a good, thorough vacuuming before you can extract, and bonnet cleaning can be done without that so to extract you have to remove as much soil as possible by vacuuming first as well, so the final results will generally be better as a consequence of what is required to do extraction. Bonnet machines are faster and can do hard floors and commercial spaces more efficiently, but residential jobs are better done using an extractor so bear in mind what type of job you will focus more on getting before choosing one method over another. Also, when you can afford it I would buy both machines and be able to use either depending on the job because neither is always the best option, you really need to have access to both methods to be in the best position to serve your customers. Good luck to you!
