5 vps is sooo funny

Epic game! After going over twice I noticed: 1. I think connecting roads was the correct choice. It was hard to believe they would be able to coordinate this in Colonist fast settings. 2. Pointed right means max road length for red is 12. You could lose 2 roads and still point build roads left from 6-9-5 to get to 13. Coordination to block you seems possible, but not reasonable. 3. Orange traded 8 cards to red for 1. Without this trade, orange who was already at 7 may have won. 4. I think last city should have been on 6-2 not 10-9-2. That way if 9 wheat is blocked 6 rolls 4/5 needed for city. 5. Maybe use brick at the end to extend and not convert for 1/3 devs, not sure though

3,8,12 were t he only numbers you were not on midgame, and those 3 numbers rolled non-stop XD

It’s always a tough call about going for road early I though you could have build 2 roads down to block the connect but not take longest road yet. Tough with the 6s and 9s drying up like they did and 8 exploding. Like you said I only lose if 8s just go nuts 8:37

The coordinated dice are absolutely insane. I wonder if black would've taken the 9 10 even if you hadn't pointed your road up. Would've made it a lot easier to maintain road in the long run.

I’m not so sure you played it wrong by solidifying road? I just can’t remember what your hand was when you took it. I can only assume you had brick and wood. Can’t let it get robbed. Feeding red road was insane. This game literally sums up my entire catan career. I don’t think you played bad. I believe you played great when you get some rolls. It’s insane the six went dead. It’s all you really need to smash their brick or sheep. The four rolling is what really let you down. That put so much wood on the wood on the board. I can at least agree with what future Hugh said about buying devs. That was a great taken when you looked back and saw nobody buying devs. I just really hate that you pointed your road right. It’s just not the move. They for sure will feed red the plow. In the end there always shoulda, woulda and coulda moments you can’t predict. You won’t make the same mistake twice. The issue that plagues us is how these players didn’t play normally. Give me a second to explain. You said you realized afterwards that nobody was buying dev cards. That’s easy to throw off the psyche when normally EVERYBODY AND THEY MOMMA BUY DEVS lol. That’s why I always say take your time and read the table and cards. Till next time Hugh! Trust me when I say I know that stings. The samething happens to me. I begin steam rolling AND I play it right by buying devs and focus on trying to hurt the players who are in position to help another player out to stall the game. The dice begin to just stop. For me it’s coincidental. I bet colonist do it on purpose. How often does a SEVEN roll after you drop a city or settlement. Regardless if the math states sevens are the highest rolled number. I ain’t buying it.

You say "natrual flow" of the dice....you should really look into colonist dice mechanics...will blow your mind what they are doing. it is not dice rolls...FYI

You can use discord streamkit, streamkit.discord.com/overlay . Go to voice widget, pick server and channel and copy the link to the obs screen, it let us see the "bubble" when people talk. you can see it in Dylan streams. It's very nice for the viewer experience.

What do you guys think of having voice chat going for that game? Orange had a potty mouth had to edit out their cursing heavily lol

i used to play a lot of c and k; on asobrain. it was almost always no trading. so much better than this constant lying and garbage, confusing the 'less smart' players.

Won a game the other day with only wood brick ore, was super fun. Had 6-5-9 and 8-5-10 + wood port and a 3-1. Was super fun and explosive once i got wood port + city.

At the 1 hour and 13 minute mark, I believe you could’ve potentially prevented red from taking army. We’re guilty of this mistake. I think you hyper focused on blue. From the beginning I’d say blue did not seem like a competent player. With red it seemed as though he wanted devs. I means he bought like 9 of them lol. You gotta remember who your dev comp is. It definitely wasn’t blue. Even though it seemed like it should’ve been. Red has the best OWs with having the 6 and 8 paired with the sheep port. If you go back you’ll see that you hardly hit red towards the end. You murdered blue and black. Most of your cards came from black. All good. I’m not saying I’d do any better. We all make this mistake. I’ve tried getting better at it. I’ve lost a lot of games due to this mistake. I realized I robbed someone way too much. Mean while said player didn’t even realize how good of a game they had. They fail to utilize their cards well. Don’t give people too much credit. Red took a back seat and we untouched while you and blue and black kept robbing each other.

Pretty big misplay in the end not playing the knight to unblock the 6 wheat. Good chance you steal wheat + the 6 rolls = win

There was no other real road threat. Red just took a bad trade purely out of blind greed. It is an interesting part of the game though. This is why you’re not allowed to tell other people what you have in poker. Or give any indication about what you have. But it is a part of this game. I’d say at a low ranking it’s pretty dodgy. But at a high ranking, they should have known better
