I was born in Lancaster county in Mt joy pa. What I hate is the cost of housing got unbearable. Wages are horrendous.

I’ve never thought of Lancaster, PA. I made it as far as buggy rides and decided never thinking of it was a blessing.

So what happens to the poor who are disabled and worked most of their life? Greed is everywhere in Lancaster county. Luxury lifestyle. You people don't care about these people to look and say Jesus Christ i am wrong. There is an afterlife and if most want to come back because they are trapped in purgatory until judgement. Not sorry to say 98% of you will not make it to heaven because you are of this world because of money and passion for this world.

Because of illegal immigrants coming into the area, the rents are starting to get much much higher. Is becoming much less affordable to live in the city. Very high Hispanic with some black population. White population is dwindling.😮

Sorry to report I'm not in the market for a home but when money begins pouring down on me, I will be looking then. (Of course, I would reference you to others through). I'm looking for a laid back area. Someone told me about Lititz??? Just seeking a modest apartment or condo that isn't a noise-magnet. Just one little addition about Hershey: Milton actually wanted his chocolate factory in Lancaster City but the people said “No way - do we want to be smelling all that chocolate in the air.” It’s true 😁 So he moved way out to the countryside later called Hershey😜. Lanc County native here and grew up with the Eshelman kids. Very nice family and this property as well as their 2nd property on Eden Road is beatiful.

So glad I moved here from the DC area ten years ago. I live in a home that would cost millions there that cost 300,000 with 2 acres. I’m close enough to dc, ny, the Atlantic beaches to go for the day or a show and still drive home no hotel needed. Low IQ shock hasn’t worn off yet tho. I didn’t realize how privileged I was to have many more intelligent people around. The ethnic food is limited. Miss those things a lot.

Lancaster is beautiful. Farms, fields, and quaint towns. But, it's very quiet and boring. I imagine it would be a good place to grow old in . After living in Lancaster for a few years it would be a lot easier to die.

Family Law judges are the worst, if you are a man with children, stay away. Real Estate companies put out a blurb about it being one of the ten best places to live. That was a scam. There is a lot of farm ground there, and they wanted to raise the land values, destroy the farm land, build a bunch of crap urban sprawl, which they have now done. Traffic is now horrendous, many of the local attractions have now folded, and giving way to appartments, senior living, and strip malls. It is not at all what it used to be.

Sorry. Live in Lebanon county. In Lancaster often. It has become too built up to maintain its once idealic attraction. Lebanon, Adams, and Cumberland counties are suffering the same fate. Never mind the regular violence reported out of Lancaster City proper on a near daily basis

Be careful comparing PA summers to Florida's. I lived in Twp for 20 years, then Warwick for another 20 before moving to Melbourne, FL. The highest dewpoint I ever experienced in PA was probably 78. As I write this, the DP here is 79. I'd never experienced a DP in PA of 80, much less the 85 it gets to here occasionally. I understand the temptation to compare Lancaster humidity to Florida's, because your summertime DPs can rival the typical summer DPs here. However, as we know, 'normal' or 'average' weather are just like speed limits: suggestions. Just as it's not 88°/68° every single day in July there, there are many times here the DP is way above normal. This happens when one is surrounded on three sides by ocean waters in the 90s and 100s (!) toward late summer. In PA, we consider a DP of 65 to be sticky, 70 to be muggy, and 75 to be downright oppressive. Here, 70 is totally comfortable even without a breeze, and 75 isn't that bad with the typical breezes that comes with the sea breeze and storm outflow boundaries. But make no mistake; you haven't seen humid until you've been outside with an 85° dewpoint, when condensation appears on the exterior of the windows on your 78° AC'ed home (enough that it drips and runs), where stepping INTO a sauna to cool off sounds like a superb idea. BTW, the all-time record high DP in Melbourne, FL is 90°.

Hi Matt, I think it might be helpful to do a video comparison of cost of living between Lancaster, York and Chester Counties.

The weather doesn't change that quickly in Lancaster. I'm not sure where that idea comes from. I lived in Colorado. The weather here is very stable in comparison. The weather in summer, though, is pretty awful.

LANCASTER 40 YEARS AGO WAS A PARADISE NOW WITH EVERYBODY FROM BIG CITIES MOVING HERE ARE JUST CROWDING EVERYTHING AND SOON LANCASTER WILL BE LIKE PHILADELPHIA. THEY RAISE ALL THE HOUSE OWNERSTAXES AND IF YOU PLANNING TO DO RENTAL 🤦‍♂️ FORGET IT NOW YOU NEED 4 GRAND DOWN AND PROOF THAT YOU ALSO MAKE THAT A MONTH. BEFORE YOU COULD RENT ANYWARE WITH JUST ONE DEPOSIT OF 800 OR 1,000 DOWN. ALL THIS BECAUSE THEY WANT TO MILK THE RICH THAT ARE MOVING IN AND TAKEN OVER .
