thanks for the video. Another tip I'd like to share, don't buy the painted terminals and if you do, make sure to take the paint off on the areas it makes contact with the battery

Great idea! I wonder if we can add another power cord for stick welding. This way we have both the stick and wire feed. Is that possible?

Why do you cut the terminals? Can you replace terminal without cutting?

On the positive side, there were two wires, I only saw one connected to the terminal? Where does the second one go?

I have the same welder. On 1/4" thick steel, my hands get hot even with welder gloves on, from the radiant heat. Sometimes a splatter find a crack in my old gloves or clothes and stings. Don't see how you did the first weld ungloved, and both in a wife-beater.

Currently building a CNC prototype from plywood and Nema 17s to find out what I don’t know cheaply before committing to metal. You say you don’t want to show your 1st build but as a viewer, learning what not to do is every bit as important as learning how to do it right. Thanks for taking the time to make this vid

Thanks for the video. I had nothing to lose, so I took off the cover to see if something was obvious. It wasn't the switch, just a very loose DC torch connection! Cleaned, tightened, all good. Your video saved me from buying a new welder.

1. thanks a lot. mine started misbehaving recently and i'm going 2 try 2 fix it the same way u did. 2. man, r u funny @ 2:27 ?! :) kind of kidding here... but seriously, just putting the jaws next 2 a ruler and estimating accuracy by the naked eye? i don't even always get it 2 zero just opening and closing... :) and definitely it's not machined 2 a very high precision since @ different points the jaws give me different measurements.

Hey man, I know this video is old but I bought this welder so I could learn hot to wled my own exhaust on my truck. Any chance you remember the settings you used to weld the exhaust pipe in this video? Im definitely going to try the settings you mentioned to practice as I went to my local metal supply and got free scrap pieces from them. Gonna be practicing over the weekend before I try it out on the exhaust. A appreciate your video and the info you gave!

my wife has some tree trunk slices, very rough cut from a chain saw, do you think this planer can flatten and smooth them out, taking off about 1/2” from either side? the slices ( thicknesses) are between 3 & 4” right now

why did you lift the weights up so high? That is a lot of potential energy being stored. Can you lower it so when it does drop or break it only drops a feet?

Good work on welding such a thick piece of metal with a 90 amp mig welder. The weld was clean no doubt, but its the strength that matters. So what worked. The wire speed or the movement. I think you had a bit of movement going on in there because of which the metals fused strongly with each other.

Automobile engines are not designed to run at 5000 rpm and marine engines are. Thats the difference you pay for. I enjoyed the video and respect your effort. Next time buy an outboard, you wont have to stand on your head with an inspection mirror to change the spark plugs.

Hey i followed this video to a T two days ago and it failed miserably and i don't know why. I have the exact terminal you have, put the wire under the metal and it's very tight. When i started my car it began shaking, jumping a little while driving and struggling to accelerate. It has been like this for 2 days. Today it cut off twice while driving and would not accelerate after stepping on the gas. When it started again same thing, car keeps shaking and jumping. Service engine light came on as well. Before changing the terminals my car was running fine. So it's really boggling me what is going on. Any suggestions?

I know I'm super late to the party here, but, why not just take the solenoid feed directly from the motor that drives the spool . That school only runs when the trigger is pressed. Take the positive feed from that to a relay and that will power your solenoid until the trigger is released which will stop the spool and close the solenoid. I understand that the motor for the school is variable voltage as it's adjustable speed from the front panel but you should be able to get a relay with a voltage range that would work.

2000 F-150 XL 4.6 330,000 running like crap out of nowhere😮 Felt like a misfire but no codes. Ford dealership said clogged passages to intake throttle. EGR. After fix same symptoms. 🤦🏾‍♂️ Ford dealership said it could be burnt or broken valves in cylinder number 2. That they don't do internal fix on high mileage engines . Drove 3 weeks with misfire until 2 days ago when cylinder 3 plug popped straight out of the head like a missile.😮 Towed to a Mom and Pops auto mechanic shop. Cylinder #3 plug pop out and coil destroy and plug #2 was spinning leaking from head.😮. They repaired both cylinder plugs with new sleeves and threads. New plugs and coils... Truck runs better than before with no misfire and codes. 🙌🏾 Anytime it run like crap I would start with the plugs. 🤷🏾‍♂️
