Nice episode , I've had each of these bottles, the costly and the cheaper version , comparisons are good but are all individual in there own right . Price differences are modest I recommend them all .

I can find 1792 FP between $42-50. Don't disagree that GR FP is better or equal but not much a difference in price.

I bought the 1792 at 53 and Green River at 50. I like both and the affordable alternative doesn’t really apply at a mere $3 where I live. It does seem one of you highlights the dislike for 1792 vs the price difference.

1792 full proof is $55 where I am so it’s $5 difference. Also I love my 1792 full proof

I love rye, I love spicy things. The only 2 ryes I have over 100 proof are Old Overholt 114, maybe the best under $20 rye around, and the JD single Barrel barrel proof, special bottle, drink on special occasions.

IMHO a better $70ish alternative to the Angel's Envy Private Selection would be Thomas Moore Port Cask Extended Finish.

Dudes!!! This is awesome!! For real. I can get a lot of these in stores by me. Also Remus Repeal Batch 8 is still in a local store. 1792 Full Proof is seriously overrated imo. I only had one store pick that tasted good. Other than that super meh.

I have a 1792 full proof store pick & Ben Holladay. Both bottles 4/5. Green River is on my list…just looking for a SB or store pick. I’d recommend a Woodford Reserve double oak (store pick if you can find it) or McKenna 10yr BIB. Both around $50-60 & not going to break the bank 👍

If I have to pay more than $30 for a liter and 3/4 there is a problem again if I have to pay more than $30 for a fifth for good Kentucky bourbon there’s a problem I only pay MSRP even my Blantons is at $52 and I have eight bottles stay Kentucky these crafts are good But not worth over $40 a fifth even log still is good but it’s not worth over $25 a bottle. I will never buy another bottle of logs still again the prices over priced.

Anything for Missouri is garbage it’s a whiskey.

That southern star cask strength is one of my absolute favorites. They have a high rye that is also excellent

I love OF SBBS Rye, BUT they're not as consistent as the JD SBBS Ryes are. I've had some OF that were amazing, but some that were kind of a mess. I'm on my 7th different JD pick and they've all been top tier. JD wins on consistency for me.

Im a Rye guy. Nothing is hitting on that JD SBBP Rye. Theres some absolute bangers on that table but the JDs density and flavor is unmatched.

JDSBBP rye is better than every rye I’ve ever tried. All the hype around most allocated pours don’t stand a chance.

I just picked up a JD SBBP rye Hero’s edition. Most on the shelf were 132-134 proof. But I saw one setting by itself that was 136, so I grabbed it up. It’s…AMAZING.
